Again just fucking absurd by their lot, many comparing Diallo to him - worth mentioning that whatever some think of Gordon him and Diallo are similar age and Gordon so far has attracted £60m bids from Chelsea, and real strong interest by us - a team that whatever the mackems think has massive draw now so we have a lot of options and he’s seemingly our number one, compared to Diallo who has played half a season in the Championship, Manchester United have had precisely no desire to bring him back and he’s had no interest besides Sunderland. I’m sure the kid is a talented player but Manchester United also paid around £40m for him iirc and he’s far and away more unproven than Gordon at this point - it also further underlined how misguided their point is when the main player they’re trying to compare him to isn’t some diamond they unearthed for cheap but a bloke that cost similar to what we are bidding for Gordon.

So his best case scenario is we win the league cup and they win the FA cup? He wouldn’t prefer to win the FA Cup and us to go out to Southampton? Do they fucking engage their brains while making up these weird imaginary scenarios, or is it just drivel on autopilot? Why is he even acting like them winning the FA Cup is some plausible scenario, they’re only in the 4th fucking round they need to win 5 more rounds to win the thing. It’s absolutely barmy, it’s like us saying “I seyz to me mam imagine if they got promoted in the play offs next seyyyson and we won the Champions leyyyug? Tha would be the best fing eva”, it’s so fucking weird they got promoted and are a middling championship side which is good for them given where they are but they’re acting like they’d pump a side 3rd in the premier league that are currently the best defensive unit in the top 5 European leagues and among the highest scorers in the Premier League. It’s just ridiculous, they even have the brass neck to call us deluded in the same posts

Aye has to be an old link, Chelsea have Hudson-Odoi, Mount, Ziyech, Fofana, Pulisic, Lukaku, Aubameyang, Joao Felix, Mudruyk, Sterling, Broja, Madueke, Havertz, and Nkuku (signing in summer) as forwards on their books, so that’s 14 with at least 9 of them currently registered in a 25 man squad, I know they’re mad but they surely won’t go for another forward player . Their focus looks to be back on Enzo Fernandez, honestly though at the point Chelsea are at, and given where we are/our trajectory there’s surely going to be some players in Gordon’s position that would pick us over them as the playing time alone would be a huge difference.

So that blokes evidence that they are better than most the PL is that they beat a side who weren’t good enough to be in the PL? I’m happy for them to keep thinking this is all some huge fluke, as it’ll just make it even harder for them to deal with as we stay at this level and even kick on. It looks like we could be in the first final we’ve been in for fucking donkeys years and all they’re bothered about is Trafalgar Square and outrage at Murphy for waving at a player who committed an outrageous foul and proceeded to shove, grab and scream at our players aye Jacob Murphy was definitely the problem in that scenario. It’s interesting that the whole of the Premier League has suddenly become absolutely shit at football the exact time we got new owners, a new manager, and claim to have turned things around. It’s also weird that in the cups it’s all PL sides at the end of the tournament, given they are all shite and lower league sides are definitely better. I look forward to possibly being in Europe next season as I’m going to make a wild prediction that this bizarre coincidence will also be inflicted upon the top sides across Europe “Real Madrid are shite now marra, Stewie would put five past them looking at them tonight FTM marra we’d be the best team in yooorup”. They’ve lost it.

What League is his shit club even in? Nice to see they’ve got more friends though, Lower league friends. Bunch of losers.

Agree with this, I don’t rate him based off what I’ve seen but fully trust Ashworth, Howe etc so if they see a player I’m in full support. Some of his stats this season compared to other attacking mids/wingers and that aligns with what AgentAxeman says, clearly hard working and a good presser. I think while his offensive stats are weak he’s scored 3 of Evertons 15 goals and I don’t imagine they have a ton of opportunities for him to show that side of his game. We will see I guess, but they’ve not really missed so far with their first choice players (Wood I saw more as a bit of a panic buy/quick fix).

Brilliant post. Some of the misses tonight were appalling in a performance I am buzzing about, I thought we went away to a resurgent side and were comfortably the better side but some of the chances missed were staggering - mostly by Joe, Willock, and Longstaff. All extremely hard working and put in good performances but as you point out that type of finishing is now a regular issue and Howe simply needs investment to raise the quality of finish, to be fair to Joelinton he had two goals (absolutely fucking nowt wrong with the one ruled off) but there was also a number of brutal misses. Longstaff is the most interesting one for me as I think it’s really exciting to see how many really good shooting chances he gets, while he has been missing a lot the exciting bit is whenever we do get a higher quality striker of the ball in that role they’re going to score some amount of goals. Isak looks magic btw, he cut them to bits as if they were nowt. Pope is simply a brick wall, genuinely staggered at how good a keeper he is. The comments from the mackems are hilarious btw, fucking no idea how they can all watch that and say we parked the bus and got lucky

They’re the same as mackems tbh, they love Lampard because he throws his hands up and blames players and they just follow that. Gordon was the best young talent in England according to the same fan base 6 months ago (again same as the mackems whenever a youth player has a good game), maybe he has been shite but who could blame him? Their fanbase blockaded his car and angrily confronted him after a game I’m not sure I’d show much desire to stay around and help as a 21 year old. If our recruitment staff decide to get Gordon, and we sign him then I trust them especially over a bunch of bitter scouse mackems. They need relegated honestly, it’ll be good for the league to get rid of another club that does absolutely fuck all besides linger round the bottom half.
-
They surely can’t think that was a pen, I saw a replay of the incident on Twitter and he’s clearly miles outside the box - you’d take it obviously but how could you be remotely angry at people saying it’s not a pen.
-
While I don’t rate Gordon I’m warming to the idea because it’ll be fucking immense to pluck him from Everton and watch their heads melt.

Generic small time football blather thread FOREVER
Howay replied to Sonatine's topic in Newcastle Forum
Similar to the Spurs wankers are these bellends. Spent the most in the league over the last decade, just spent mental money this past summer but they complain about their owners. I saw a discussion recently when the spending was brought up and the response was “but that’s the clubs money, the Glazers don’t spend their own” isn’t this exactly what we were accused of wanting Ashley to do? -
They’re tragic, let them have it as it’ll only make them even fucking angrier when it inevitably goes tits up. Hope they enjoyed winning the nappy ripper derby, it’s the only one they’re going to get for the foreseeable.

The difference is teams will have believed they could compete and go toe to toe earlier in the year, whereas palace, Leeds, and Fulham all were clearly happy to play for a draw - it’s a shift we need to adapt to, Almiron isn’t getting the space he had on a regular basis etc as these teams are sitting deeper. I’m hoping West Ham will fancy themselves and try to attack us more which will give us more space to attack. That’s why we need to improve in terms of quality as while Almiron etc have done very well this season they don’t have that quality on the ball to scythe through teams who sit deep.
-
While the lack of goals is a bit of a worry I think it’s due to a shift in how teams are playing us, a lot of teams are now happy with a draw against us and are setting up deeper. We’re one of the only teams other than the top 2-4 that look good in games consistently, we just need to now alter our attack to adapt to this shift with how teams are treating us. I think we will add more quality in attack before the window is closed.
-
Aye, also his distribution is brilliant funnily enough. The drop off when Dubravka come in for the cup game was noticeable imo with the quality of balls out from the keeper, Pope is so accurate with his throws and long passes.
-
Football team playing their first choice defence and keeper is definitely a shocker . In fact it reminds me a lot of when Liverpool played Allison, Alexander Arnold, Van Dijk, Gomez, and Robertson in nearly all their games in a season and won the league, or Manchester United playing Van Der Saar, Neville, Ferdinand, Vidic, and Evra, what the fuck do they witter on about stuff like that for?
-
Chelsea and Liverpool both look fucking terrible btw. Chelsea spending half a billion and still playing Ziyech, then ending the game with a midfield 3 of Chuk, Gallagher, and Hall . Gakpo looks dross as well btw. We’ve nothing to fear about either of those sides other than refs helping them out.
-
Gordon is crap tbh, I don’t believe we are actually interested. He got highly rated by Everton fans and parts of the media as he put in loads of effort for a fucking shite team so he looked better than others.
-
So they really are genuinely just copying us with these displays. They have no shame whatsoever like, fucking tragic club.
-
I think their next two in the league are Fulham away then another game against Man City at home as well, so it’s not like they have an easy chance at points, whereas we have Palace, West Ham, then Bournemouth to get us both to 22 games played. Could be quite a gap by the end of that.
