  1. I agree fully but a lot of Americans don't want that discussion. I've lived here for coming up to 4 year now and I just keep quiet on this issue a lot of the time as people that come across as rational have very odd views about guns. The problem is the NRA have huge lobbying power and are able to bully and pressure any attempt to change gun laws with their massive member base (Which iirc despite not the largest is the most active). Now it has reached a point of when does that change happen? what would be a tipping point? We had Dunblane, the nation was horrified and we were okay with strict gun laws. Australia had the Port Arthur massacre and they likewise were okay with tighter gun laws. America have had multiple college shootings, and one in a fucking primary school and it hasn't changed much, in fact the NRA have at times took the opposite stance and declared that if more guns were in the equation it would be safer. It is similar at times to taxes and health care, in that there is so much misinformation about it. Apparently the NHS basically gives up on people past a certain age and will no longer really treat them, something I've been told multiple times by people in good careers before I told them that my 92 year old terminally ill grandfather had gotten brilliant round the clock care (albeit in part down to McMillan charity). They were still convinced by what Fox had told them on the matter despite a British citizen telling them it's wrong. I'm not trying to turn this into a health care issue btw, just saying that Fox and other conservative stations hold a fuck ton of power here and the political divide is far larger than it is back home.
  2. Bit harsh on the lad that like, there's more teams closer to QPR's quality in the league then there is teams of Man City's quality so I've no problem him being an option at CM for us (although I think we have plenty there). Also Man City's midfielders make plenty of players that I would rate higher than Taylor "look well out of place" so it's not fair measuring him against a team that is an outlier rather than a norm imo. I would prefer others to start but I think he has is a fine option to either bring on or fill in for an injured player, he also covers a lot of positions which is handy to have now that Pardew has seemingly marginalized Jonas.
  3. Aye, I think that could be a good position for him. I prefer he plays in midfield so that he isn't the last line, as like I said before I think he looked a bit shaky in defence unless he had a defensive winger in front of him. Like you say he could do a job on the right side of a midfield three with instruction to get out wide and put some crosses in as I think he's a canny crosser of the ball. Aye he's not great but he is definitely a capable squad player.
  4. Aye he's pretty much an average Premiership player tbh, his set piece taking makes him worth a place above other average players. He has had some canny runs in sides but I still think he needs a defensive winger in front of him (like Jonas) to be properly trusted in defence. Canny bloke mind and I really hope he gets over his injury troubles as I think he is a handy squad player.
  5. Aye, they should just paint their pitch beige. I sincerely hope they get relegated, sadly I think there's enough utter shite down the bottom that they'll survive another year.
  6. Aye I've had similar issues, I was down to using Samper and Roberto as Rafinha, xavi, busquets, rakitic were all hit with multiple injuries, then Iniesta broke his leg . I think there is something up with the goalies as well mind, Ter Stegen has been dodgy more often then not, Balanta coming in in January helped shore things up a bit so I think I just noticed him less.
  7. Gibbo reading it to him and him going. "Ah could use some of this stuff, ah remember being at a right tear up at the Shiremoor treat, Gypsies one side and some of the Geordie boot boys finest on the other, a day ah'll never forget"
  8. How far are you into it? Ter Stegen was the same for me for most of the first season, starting to get a little bit better now. Regularly punched it back to the same player that had taken the initial shot, kicked it off a player and into his own net three times and even threw the ball out directly to an opposition striker .
  9. The king is in the Champions League hunt, he'll be eating Carvers food on the celebration piss up.
  10. Has Cabella ever played a full 90 for us? Really gutted for Taylor, he was having a good game up to then as well. Agree that the games changed since that poor sub, feel bad for Perez as well just having to try and beat Dunne and Caulker in the air for the ball as they keep lumping it up to him. Seems to be Pardews way anytime the game plan is interrupted with an injury we switch to just smacking it up field.
  11. ‪#‎NUFC‬ v QPR (4-3-3): Krul; Janmaat, Williamson, Dummett, Haidara; R.Taylor, Sissoko ©, Colback; Cabella, Perez, Ameobi. #NUFC subs v QPR: Elliot, Streete, Anita, Gouffran, Armstrong, Ferreyra, Cisse. I'm assuming he's trying to keep a similar shape with Taylor right mid, Sissoko taking Abeids role with Cabella the most forward of the midfield 3.
  12. I'd get Lee Hendrie and Merson, then announce I was only going to pay them £60 for the both of them, hoy the money in between and watch them fight over it like a pair of drunk tramps.
  13. You have to pay Paul Merson to join in a stag do, the pissed up cunt wouldn't leave.
  14. Aye, Jonas' side of things is far more believable than any shite Pardew comes out with. If the lad is upset with them then they have done something wrong. I don't care about Pardews timeline, or if Jonas had been in the first team picture the bloke should have been allowed to just train with the team and concentrate on his recovery. As for any argument that he would then just be a waste of wages and it's a business, while it's true I think the fans still have a right to be pissed off about it, especially as we currently have two decent first teamers away on loan and it's safe to say the club is still paying some of their wages.
  15. The band man. They fully know everyone fucking hates them, they're just doing it out of spite now tbh.
  16. Aye it's rough, the Goalies are a bit daft at times for me mind. I started a game with Barca to get the hang of it and Ter Stegen has so far booted the ball off an opposition player into his own net three times . The only thing I'm getting a bit frustrated with is lack of shots on target, I'm getting 20-30 shots a game with around 10-30% on target and thought maybe they were just taking rash shots from distance but when I started watching they're actually getting in great positions unchallenged and then smacking it wide or ballooning it over, fucking plebs. Top of the league still mind which is obviously no accomplishment with Barca but completely forgot about their fucking transfer embargo and I cant buy anyone until 2016 . Overall though I think it's an improvement on 2014, haven't tried the tracksuit manager style taking control of training yet mind.
  17. Beyond a fucking joke now.
  18. Yup, this is the way Pardew has operated with us for his whole tenure. He strikes a way to win and we go on a good run of results, eventually the momentum slows and he just keeps trudging on with the same ideas despite it clearly not working. We were totally fucking minging, for a year and a fucking half he can fuck right off for me because we'll have a downturn of form and will be on the wrong side of fucking howkings yet again. It's just a shame that if we're going to be stuck with this twat that we can't hammer teams, we just get comfortable 2-0 type wins, yet when we're shite we get spat out 4-0 or 5-0 with alarming regularity. I just look forward to when we eventually don't have to have this bloke and his walking coronary of a boss as manager and owner of the football club.
  19. This about sums up my feelings as well. This has to end because it's getting more and more blatant, the 2018 vote was bad enough but the 2022 bid may as well have seen Blatter come out and go "okay who wants to give us the most money?", to then turn around and attempt to punish two of the failed bids is fucking shocking. I'd love to see UEFA pull away, at least long enough to destroy what FIFA has become. Fucking around with the dates is just shocking as well, if they can't host it in the Summer then they shouldn't have it. I've no problem with a middle eastern country having a World cup tournament but at least make it one that has some fucking history in the sport ffs, oh and one that doesn't practice what is basically slavery. Blatter is a total abhorrent prick and I fully expect to hear things coming out about him when he eventually steps down/ resigns/ is forced out of his position.
  20. http://www.bbc.com/news/world-australia-30047815?OCID=fbasia They're just having a total fucking laugh with this now.
