  1. "They love to ignore recent history and focus only on the things that give them "one upmanship" - 5under1and, Eldon Square, The Metro, 1-4 at our place etc.... FFS my FIL insists on telling me the story of how Geordies got their name (something to do with people from Newcastle pledging allegiance to King George (George's Men....Geordies) whilst people from Sunderland didn't....." The (really cheesy) chip on their shoulder is massive like, they have to admit beating us does have some of the sheen taken off it by finishing below us. They do have recent wins and we can't take that away from them but it's posts like this that are just odd, it quotes the post before which is a bloke talking about arguing with a Newcastle fan in an airport where he brings up how happy he was when we got relegated, is the 5under1and craic not more recent than our relegation? . "ahh they love bringing up stuff like how their city has way better infrastructure, better architecture and better shopping centres, they also love bringing up cuffing wuh 5-1 five year ago which is mental, remembah when theyah were relegated 7 year ago? I hate having to correct people on me holidays to Scarborough that I'm not a Geordie ah'm a mackem, a word they used to use as an insult but we made it ours didn't we? AHHH FUCKIN HATE THEM, HAWAY THE LADS, HAWAY PAOLO, AHH MEAN GUS, FUCKIN 'ELL AHH MEAN DICK"
  2. Aye he was one of the few to actually listen to them as well, stunning that scoring against Arsenal actually made him a worse player. That was definitely one of Pardew's biggest flaws, he had his players and regardless of form would force them into the side. Think it's cost us Bigirimana and it would have cost us a canny player in Abeid if Pardew had stayed.
  3. Shame like, think he had proper potential but the injuries took it of him. Wish him luck if he goes, still has a canny shot on him but I'm sure CT could dust him in a 60m sprint.
  4. Aye, this is much more like the doing 32 in a 30mph zone that the nonce defender mackems were saying Johnson was. It's like a lad in year 11 having a relationship with a lass in year 9... dead rare that like. Honestly man that lot are fucking obsessed with trying to find anything, trying to liken a 16/17 year old having sex with a 13/14 year old in Senegal (when they were married?) to a 27 year old grown bloke and multi millionaire married footballer grooming a 15 year old lass and allegedly entering into a relationship with her is fucking mental. As SEW pointed out I'm sure there's fucking tonnes of pregnant 13/14 year old lasses walking round SR postcodes, they all pregnant off 12/13/14/15 year old lads? Sex laws around those ages are hard to define due to the fact they're all at school together, I worked at an American summer camp in Pennsylvania when I was younger and they had some stipulation in that a 17 year old could have sex with someone 2 year older to try and get around the whole 2 high school kids in a relationship, one goes to Uni and the other is in their final year of high school issue. Tbh go on mackems yell and scream about this all you want but deep down you all know what a complete non event this is to the fact that your fans have given standing ovations to a 27 year old bloke who is accused of having sex with a 15 year old. Edit: In fact got the Pennsylvania law a little wrong this is it: "Anyone between the ages of 13 and 16 can consent to have sex with anyone else who is no more than 4 years older." With age of consent there being 16, it's to get around the whole gray area that is high school relationships. No idea of the Senegalese laws though other than Ant saying age of consent is 16 so all the mackems that are confident of the ins and outs of Senegalese laws can crack on calling Cisse a paedo if it makes them feel better about giving Johnson a heroes welcome on his return from suspension.
  5. It does aye, I've little doubt that Taylor has been going round telling them all he's a fucking hero back home so they should all talk to him.
  6. Aye, it wants to be mind for the utter bilge they're playing.
  7. Also sad that the whole Man Utd being shite for a little bit is now completely over (I know they did canny last season but the prior season gave hope), the double signing of Schneiderlin and Schweinsteiger completely revamps their central midfield and now it looks like they're going on a fuck FFP tear.
  8. Downing looked canny anytime I saw him play last season and iirc he played basically every game, quite surprised he's leaving and that he's leaving for a Championship side (not saying I blame him for turning down the tramps just surprised no other Prem sides are interested).
  9. Agree with both, I think Tiote's decline was one of Pardew's biggest failings. He was brilliant the season we came 5th and had Cabaye alongside him all season, the following year when Cabaye was out for stretches I felt like Tiote (hyped up from the praise from previous season) suddenly thought he was Pirlo (as Ant said) and began to try and step into Cabaye's role as the chief outlet, when this happened it seemed like Pardew never shut this down by telling Tiote to stick to his role of breaking up the opposition play and moving the ball on so Tiote just kept doing his horrific Cabaye impression and lunged into tackles anytime he gave the ball away with a wayward pass.
  10. This is what I don't understand, it offers no benefit from a training perspective especially as one of the sides is a fucking reserve team for an MLS team. The fans back home can't attend or really watch as games will be at 2am and while Man Utd, Madrid etc are playing each other soon which will be a draw we're playing utter no marks in Milwaukee at a baseball ground so I don't see how that creates/increases any sort of brand recognition.
  11. Looks more like the national girder centre tbh
  12. City's pure desperation to get in English players isn't it, especially after Delph turned them down. His ego is going to be out of fucking control now mind (if it wasn't already).
  13. Spot on, what an utter thicket of winnets Palace fans are. They bring back an utter fucking arsehole of a manager disliked for being a completely unprofessional, arrogant prick of a man who they have some cult attraction too because he was one of the many shite players that have played for them in their complete irrelevance of a history, then they buy a bloke two year after he left us re-uniting him with said prick and suddenly they're full of hot air towards us? People point at us and say we've won fuck all and we have to take it off Man Utd, Liverpool etc but I'm not having it off a club like fucking Palace, runners up for the FA cup in 1990 and a third place finish in the top flight in the 1990-91 season and that's the best claims they have? fuck right off, if we're a tin pot club I've no clue what that makes them. Their stadium looks like something Whitley Bay FC would turn their noses up at and they've just made their club record signing at around 10m. Fucking no marks. I'm sure Cabaye will do well there, he's a class player and aye the mercenary tag is probably fair (it's true of basically any footballer now anyway) but at least he performs well. The fact is they've basically overpaid for a bloke who has just about hit his peak, ambitious move aye but still he's not going there because he thinks they'll fulfill his ambition for trophies/European footy or to to showcase his skills on a stage he thinks he'll be seen on for a big move, it's so he is playing regular enough to make a claim to the French team and for a nice pay day before his career comes to a close. Like you say Pardew will base the team around him because it's the only way he has had any success in yonks, it'll be fine while he's playing but if he gets injured or inevitably banned for one of his petulant stamps it'll go back to full on Pardew panic mode and hopefully Championship football (fwiw I don't think they will go down, just would like to see them go down now that the king is there and their fans have developed some odd obsession with us the same way Villa did). They can comment when they've managed at least a game more than the mackems in Europe, macron wearing tramps.
  14. That's no way to talk about his own sister.
  15. See CB wise we're being linked to N'koulou and Matip, we'd be a bit fucked if we get both and Cameroon went and qualified for the Afcon. Would be a good CB partnership aside from the Afcon issue mind.
  16. I hope he's stuck there, they sign no one and are forced to play him. Imagine the clip of the performances he'd put in.
  17. Aye it's cracking, I don't think it has dawned on them that they have absolutely fuck all money and what little they did have was spent keeping Advocaat there as no one of note would come to manage them. They keep posting up pictures of Cabaye to try and annoy any Newcastle fans on there as well, completely ignoring the fact that it should bother them more because Palace have just signed a better CM than they've ever had.
  18. Aye it's class they can't do their usual "ahh he's fucking shite" comments because they spent about 50 pages wanking off over him when the press were linking them with him. The mocking of a 15m fee is also a bit rich considering they paid 10m for shite like Jack Rodwell and are trying to exploit a get out clause to avoid paying 8m for some knacker from Inter Milan.
  19. Hopefully that will replace the chicken dance as the mackems least favorite celebration.
  20. Spot on, tied down for what should be his peak years (29,30,31). Athleticism isn't really the biggest part of his game and he seems to be a good pro so I see no reason he couldn't be performing at a high level till 33/34. There's nothing wrong with spending this sort of cash on occasion especially with the new TV deal, not sure how people can laugh at them for spending 12m and 100k a week on a proven class player who massively improves their side while our lot haven't signed anyone at all (Palace now also have a far better Central midfielder than we have on the books). To be honest getting Cabaye back would have been the exact sort of signing that would have lent some credibility to fatty's pre-game speech, instead they're still waffling on about finding the right deal on our terms.
