Crystal Palace v Newcastle United - Saturday 28th November 3pm Kick-Off
Howay replied to Haydnator's topic in Newcastle Forum
I remember early on Haidara being fucking awful too mind, it's hard to pick between the two of them really as I think they're both poor players. We definitely should have bought a left back in the summer and it still shocks me that we didn't as it was clear as day neither Haidara or Dummett were good enough. -

Aye he has fucked it like, I'm not even excited for the match anymore and if I wasn't on here I'd probably forget when we were even playing. I've said in the past and I think it's becoming more and more true, it's not about being shite as if we were just shite I'd not feel like this towards the club we've just got a completely rotten club. How we are still in this division is amazing to me when you look at our record over the last two seasons. We've got a playing staff that just clearly doesn't give a fuck to the point where it's almost impressive how little they care, they've somehow completely detached themselves from it and don't feel any shame or embarrassment for getting burst every week to the point that some of them still have the brass neck to actually believe they should be playing in a Champions League side. We've all watched some shite players over the years but I find it more sickening watching the current lot, some of which are actually talented players, not give any effort at all. I honestly believe that if Sissoko could just walk off the pitch without getting docked wages he would, and a few others wouldn't be far behind. I just don't know how you could make it to the Premier League level and be okay with getting completely shown up by some of the poorest players in the league, would competitiveness or some pride not kick in at some point? They made Dan Gosling look like a Premier League player ffs. I said in another thread I feel bad for McClaren and I genuinely do because I think he is actually trying, I know he knew full well what he was getting into with Ashley but I don't think he (or really any of us for that matter) knew how apathetic the squad is. I remember a while back Happy Face put something up about what the reserve and academy squads form was like and it closely matched that of the first team, it's deeply worrying stuff as it shows just how deep this malaise is. We're going down this year as I just can't see what can be done, if they got rid of McClaren it would be a Sherwood type that got the job, we could buy players but just look at how quickly the summer buys have lost interest. -

Aye, the bloke is a monumental bellend like. His clearly overemphasized accent grates on me too. The fat wanker. -

Going the right way to be top 8 in League one with a shot at the johnstones paint trophy tbf. -
It would probably be better to watch than watching shite like sissoko every week and surely couldn't do any worse than a 5-1 howking to Palace. It will be interesting to see Ashleys response when we go down, he may try and sell the club, he may try and buy a load of upper championship players or (most likely) see what we do with whatever is left after the outflow of detritus that would follow relegation. I would love to see is hang onto Sissoko mind, just to see how moody the cunt would be playing Brentford away or whatever pish is down there now.

Newcastle United v Liverpool (6/12/15 16:00 ko Sky)

We will lose by at least 5 and I cant see us getting near scoring. Their first goal will come from pressing Colo or one of our CMs who will gift possession to them. -

Cracking post and I feel the same. We as fans aren't really getting anything out of scraping survival every year other than dross football and a load of 4+ goal losses. At this point all I want is Ashley gone and if that takes a few year in the Championship or League one then so be it. -

Nah I think it's just we tend to lose games in general. I wouldn't bother going anymore either way. -

Colo needs dropped like, how he is still club captain when he has been an utter embarrassment for 3 years just sums up the current plight of this shit show of a club. We've been skimming by for the last few years and it has finally caught up to us, our defence has been fucking crap for years and we've done nowt to properly address it. It was clear as day we needed two CB's and a left back this summer, we bought 1 CB and thought we could scrape by but it's clear now we can't. The worst part is I'm not even arsed about getting rid of McClaren as like Gemmill said it doesn't matter, we'd just get in some useless cunt like Sherwood because all these knackers want is 2nd rate English managers. Nowt will change until Ashley is gone, I keep saying that I'll pack in watching but I stick it on every week, I think today was the final straw for me I'm not going to be watching next week. Our side are basically chasing shadows every match and they don't look like they have much intention of even doing that. Just saw on the clubs facebook they put up "Newcastle United let slip a lead at Crystal Palace as they went down 5-1 in the Barclays Premier League on Saturday" Fucking let slip, as if we conceded a goal late on and drew when in actual fact weren't really in the game. -

I remember when a 5-1 loss would be really fucking embarrassing, now it just feels like a 2-1 loss used to feel. We are going down like I don't have much doubt about it now as we are clearly the worst team in the division. We will lose by at least 4 to both Liverpool and Spurs. The team has nothing at all, the players don't give a fuck and it doesn't look like McClaren is going to win them over as honestly we look worse by the game. -

I feel bad for McClaren in a way, I know he knew what he was getting himself into woth Ashley but the playing staff has a quitting mentality to it from the Kings era and it's been well ingrained in the squad especially as most know there's no chance they will be dropped. Sissoko has probably tried in about 10 games in the last 3 year and he is clearly undroppable as well as thinking he should be at PSG. -
The De Jong brothers what a monumental waste of time and money they have been for Newcastle.
-
"Can I have your shirt mr Sissoko?" "I'm sorry little man I've already promised it to one of my team mates, they want to have something to remind them of playing with a player of my calibre"
-
Sissoko would probably start attacking against Newcastle as it's only natural for him to assume he was playing for Barca.
-
Messi vs Dummett, that would be worth watching.

I think the top tier is those that have a shot at winning tournaments, it has been a long time since England had a really realistic chance of winning one (probably Euro 2004). We're a fairly average International team and I think calling us a second tier team is fair (the type of team that is good enough to qualify for tournaments but is really just making up the numbers). Would you say Wales is a top tier national side? I know they hadn't qualified for a tournament from the 1950's to 2016 but International football is a quick changing environment and I don't think their history is really a factor in what their current team is capable of (see Colombia, a team I would consider top tier, as an example of that). I don't think Wales are a top tier side and I also don't think we stand much more chance of winning Euro 2016 than them. I'd say the top tier is made up of teams like: Spain, Germany, Chile, Argentina, and Colombia (not saying that's it but just off the top of my head), England can't compete with any of them at the moment so we're in that second tier with sides like Switzerland, Belgium, Uruguay, France etc.

Barcelona currently demolishing Roma 5-0, I wonder what they would do against our team of superstars.

Moussa Sissoko signs for Spurs for like £30m or WatEVA
Howay replied to Park Life's topic in Newcastle Forum
Agreed, over his time here he has more than deserved to be dropped for long stretches where he has done nothing at all. He only kept his place due to complete lack of options.- 1745 replies

Agreed, we qualify but don't really stand much chance of winning any of the tournaments so I'd say second rate is a fair description. We can field a team that are all Premier League level players but very few of them are top level players and I wouldn't class any of them as world class. Most of the squad comes from sides like Everton, Spurs, Southampton and Liverpool, whereas teams like Germany, Spain and Italy have squads consisting mainly of players from Bayern, Barca and Juve level sides. We're just one of the sides making up the numbers of the tournaments and have been for a long time.
