  1. We're down tbh, there's no fight whatsoever in this lot and it's getting too late for a resurgence to be worth it anyway. We've never put a decent run of form together since before January 2015, so fully deserve the drop.
  2. We fully deserve it tbh, we offered no threat at all today and all we really did was hang on for dear life until Shaqiri ended it. Pathetic man, look at some of the buys we made as well, Saivet can't even get in the team.
  3. Why bother bringing Riviere on? he's not going to do anything is he Steve?
  4. I still don't see it happening but tbh would it be that bad if it did? The Premier League would still go on and arguably be a lot more competitive, it's not like any players that play for clubs like ours would be playing in it anyway. Invite only apparently so no relegation etc, the thing I read said it would make the CL redundant but again I don't think it would just the teams playing in it would change.
  5. John Oliver's bit on Trump the other day is brilliant. Trumps speech last night was definately in a different tone to his usual stuff, looks like it's going to be out of him and Hilary which I think will be very close.
  6. De Jong was injured? That bloke is hopeless, I have no idea when he is actually injured and when he is just recovering from injury so has to be on the bench. What a buy he has been.
  7. Aye I think what DK said was fair enough tbh, we can't be going into games expecting a win over anyone. Of course we can win but we can't expect to because our record shows no consistency whatsoever and our away record is a complete shambles. Fwiw I think we will lose comfortably, I have no faith in McClaren and the players to win games like this one away. To top it all off our already shit defence is going to be a makeshift one or at the very least have players stumbling back from injury in it. He'll set us up negatively and we'll struggle to get the ball from kick off, he will be unsure of what to do after the first Stoke goal and we wont recover.
  8. Aye I'm not too arsed, we barely see him play and our coaching staff can't seem to get the best out of players who come in at a decent level never mind trying to teach a youth player.
  9. Aye that's probably the reason, especially after his trainwreck of a start where he just insulted everyone, unfortunately that gave him support for 'not being a normal politician' rather than sending him out early.
  10. Saw Deadpool last night, it was ok but the way people were describing it I thought it was going to be a lot funnier. I'm not massively into superhero-type movies so that could be a reason, I still enjoyed it mind. People bringing their kids into it are mental mind , the woman was rushing to cover the eyes of what looked like middle schoolers as we watched a good 5 minutes of about as close as a normal movie gets to a porno. I'd have probably enjoyed it more if I hadn't heard all of the good reviews of it tbh. Either way it was a lot better than the film I watched tonight, Hitman: Agent 47, what a load of utter shite.
  11. Brilliant, I hope he stays as most of them made their bed by acting like he was the English Guardiola.
  12. Blyth is north of Newcastle, not sure how the bloke showing support for them makes him a mackem. Then again you are the resident expert on all things SAFC.
  13. To be fair that was during Pardew's streak of good form, they have the worst form in the league in 2016 according to the commentator on the channel I was watching it on (haven't bothered looking that up mind). I do agree though, regardless of his good run of form 5-1 to them is a total and utter disgrace I think their strikers have less goals than that this year. Edit: just looked it up, 7 losses and 1 draw so far this year (I'm including todays inevitable loss in that btw) and their team in total have scored 4 goals this year.
  14. I'm glad they finally attacked the fact he doesn't actually say anything when he speaks and they didn't just let him brush them off with one liners or insults like usual, the issue is it's probably too late, why did they not go after him like this weeks ago?

Aye he does do a lot and a fair few are shite, I tend to just pick and choose depending on who is on. He has got into bow hunting recently and has had a ton of hunters etc on recently which I don't have loads of interest in. He can chat some shit too, a bloke he had on this week (a comedian) started saying how psychodelics bring you closer to God and that the man just wants to stop that, even Rogan drew the line on that one . Burrs is still class, the best part is he tells you straight up that he's fucking clueless before he rants on something. The Armstrong one is class, I watched it on YouTube over a few days. He also had the lead investigator on the Armstrong case on it a few weeks before Armstrong was on.

Yeah I don't give Diaz much chance, even if Diaz had months to prepare I'd still put my money on a McGregor win. Just as you say he's not the sort to lose quickly so it'll be interesting especially with Diaz's aggressive style. Sort of on this topic but does anyone listen to Joe Rogan's podcast? he had Bas Rutten on recently and it was an interesting listen. His Lance Armstrong one was good too.

Aye he definitely has a decent chin. I agree he wont be as big a hitter but hopefully his excellent footwork and timing will make up for that, I think it'll be interesting. Fully agree regarding McGregor not being on gear, he looked fairly gaunt at lightweight I always thought whereas the weight he is currently walking around at looks a lot more natural. I saw an article saying McGregor has saw 6 opponents in the last 5 years pull out of the bout due to injury, I've no idea how regular it normally is but that seems fairly excessive, do they push themselves harder training for McGregor? fear? Shame it happened mind as I was looking forward to the original match up.

See Dana White has talked about how it came about, said that Diaz initially said he would cut to 155lbs but after McGregor said yes Diaz said it had to be at a catch weight of 165lbs. White phoned McGregor back up to ask McGregor if 165 was okay and he said "make it 170lbs" . I'm looking forward to this as a slugger like Diaz might make this a bit more interesting with it being a rushed fight, he's also great at getting under peoples skin which he did right away with the steroid comment to McGregor.
  19. Hearing things like that is the most frightening to me, people that are intelligent, successful and competent backing Trump. I live in an extraordinarily Republican town in NJ (basically a lot of investment bankers, people high up in Insurance and Pharma companies etc) and a lot have the 'I have worked for my money so hands off it' viewpoint which I get to a certain level (of course many have also benefited from a cushy upbringing, the best schools etc but don't try opening that can of worms with them) but I still get disappointed to hear the way they can just absolve themselves of any desire to help the poor, many say some pretty depressing stuff to me as since I'm white and living in a nice area I think they assume I'm a Republican supporter as well. I was told recently about how Mexicans are coming and taking American jobs and that 'we' have to stem the immigration problem to stop this, the person telling me this seemed oblivious of the fact that I actually am the 'problem' in that instance and not many Mexican immigrants. I recently beat out American candidates to an internship with a Big 4 accounting firm, which is probably more resembling of the job they would class as an 'American job' rather than picking fruit or landscape gardening. I haven't brought this up yet as I don't think it's worth getting into, as of course the implication of my getting a job not bothering them is their anger stems more from brown people than 'immigrants', but if I'm irritated by Trump getting close to an election win I might broach that discussion. I think it's crackers when you see a quote like '50 million people in this country are handed out food stamps thanks to Obama' and you remember that a fair amount of that 50m will be Republican voters simply because they oppose abortion or dislike Mexicans, two things that will have little to no real impact on their lives. The last quote is my fear with Hilary, a lot of people really don't like her. She gets a lot of flak for staying with Bill after the affair and of course the whole Benghazi email issue will keep coming up (Trump recently mentioned 'predicted' it would be him vs Hilary 'unless of course she gets indicted'). I've even heard people who voted for Obama say negative things about Hilary and then give a positive in Trumps favor like 'he wont bend over for lobbyists', it's probably the most interesting Presidential election in a long time but it's concerning.
  20. Aye who would have thought going round making insulting and at times racist remarks during a presidential campaign would piss people off. I'm not all that convinced he actually believes a lot of what he says, I think a lot of it is playing up to the morons he has targeted as being his main potential voters. I wish Bloomberg had run tbh I think he would have been the perfect democrat (provided of course he ran as that) to go up against Trump and win the middle swing vote. I just worry about the wildcard of the swing vote being put off voting for a woman, or a jewish guy who Trump will make out to be an insane communist. I know Bloomberg is Jewish as well but I think with his successful business career there is a good amount of moderate Republicans who would vote for him over Trump. I feel bad for Americans I know as a lot of them see how massively embarrassing Trump will be, they might have a president that regularly has talked about the fact he would like to fuck his daughter and a first lady who has appeared in playboy. I can't remember who said it but there's a quote talking about how Trump himself isn't the scariest part it's the confidence and voice he gives to these racists that back him, behind this thin veil of patriotism and 'getting our country back'. Edit: Jorge Ramos (the bloke who got chucked out of a Trump press conference) done a good job recently going and speaking to Trump supporters in New Hampshire: https://www.facebook.com/jorgeramosnews/videos/504564833062941/ "Is there any specific idea you thought 'yes I'm going to vote for Trump'" "Yeah... the wall" "Ah yes so you would build a wall on the border with Canada"
  21. I live in New Jersey and have for about 4 years. If it's out of a choice between train or car for going between Boston, NYC and Philly I'd definitely take the train like Tom. I think if you were going more to the South like AmericanMag is on about driving would be good but you'd just end up sitting in traffic up here. The other reason is parking in NYC is fucking insanity (unless your hotel has an okay option for parking). You can even take NJ transit from New York Penn station to Philadelphia (with a change at Newark and somewhere just outside of Philly), which would be pretty cheap (it's like $15 to NYC and back from where I live if I buy a single trip).
