Aye this is massive tbh, if he could have gotten the break after the Chelsea game with the squad he'd have them playing in a style more like what he wants by now. I don't believe that, he made poor tactical decisions, subs and starting line ups and those were his errors. There is the whole argument about the squad being unbalanced etc which is firmly at the door of Ashley and co but I'm not blaming playing Yoann Gouffran on Ashley and them, that's firmly on McClaren. Ashley finally looking like paying money for a proper manager as well as throwing cash about in January show how desperate he is so I don't see why he would force a manager to play shit players, just to what? put them in the shop window? I can't see that being the case.

Aye surely this season has made it crystal clear to Ashley that we need to invest consistently, we can't just buy a load of players in a panic and put a shit cheap manager in place to tell them what to do. Oh aye it definitely comes down to coaching, it's impossible that the North East suddenly has no one capable of becoming a Premier League player. We've got total morons as coaches, I can only imagine what the youth coaches are paid when you look at how underpaid the first team coaches are compared to other clubs, so you get what you pay for really.
