Spot on, I get the impression Benitez's agent approached them because I highly doubt Charnley had the bottle to try for a manager of that caliber. I'm sure he was quivering looking through a wikipedia page list of 1990's/2000's English managers hoping some were out of a job.
-
Aye this is massive tbh, if he could have gotten the break after the Chelsea game with the squad he'd have them playing in a style more like what he wants by now. Instead he has basically 1 training session before we play the best side in the league, it would have been a far more manageable task if they had thought this whole thing through a bit more.
-
Then some old English cock like Warnock strides in, I think that would guarantee the last ounce of giving a flying fuck would be crushed out of most people.
-
If Lee Charnley is the man handling this I have absolutely no confidence it will happen.

Steve McClaren sacked as Newcastle United 'Head Coach' (Manager)
Howay replied to Tooj's topic in Newcastle Forum
I don't believe that, he made poor tactical decisions, subs and starting line ups and those were his errors. There is the whole argument about the squad being unbalanced etc which is firmly at the door of Ashley and co but I'm not blaming playing Yoann Gouffran on Ashley and them, that's firmly on McClaren. Ashley finally looking like paying money for a proper manager as well as throwing cash about in January show how desperate he is so I don't see why he would force a manager to play shit players, just to what? put them in the shop window? I can't see that being the case. -
Aye surely this season has made it crystal clear to Ashley that we need to invest consistently, we can't just buy a load of players in a panic and put a shit cheap manager in place to tell them what to do. Think this is the first time in a while I've been somewhat arsed about us staying up as I'd like to see what Benitez would do (If he comes at all and if he stays anyway).

Expect a statement backing McClaren to come out on Sunday afternoon. -

Spot on, I feel like everything that happens with the club is like this now. Transfers take forever to finally be confirmed, to such an extent that by the time they're confirmed everyone has already known about it for 2 days. Farcical club. -
Arsenal fans.

Aye that's my feeling on it too. Real Madrid to the train wreck that is NUFC relegation season 2015/16, if he does come in though it further shows how fucking insane appointing McClaren was if we can bring in managers of Benitez's level.

Not sure, I just remember someone posting up something about how Charnley is no longer making the decision just overseeing it. Of course it may have been a false story but it's entirely plausible. -

Except Charnley! He has managed to put off making an important decision so long that there are reports it's not even his decision anymore. -
If they are doing that what possible reason would there be to keep McClaren? He literally has no reason to bother if that was the case, "erm so Steve you're okay with training the lads and putting in all the work for the game Monday? I mean win or lose you're gone but can you just do that?".

I'm more bothered about the negative effect this is having on the squad in the lead up to one of our last 10 games, I honestly couldn't give a fuck about a bloke who is going to be paid millions for doing a completely shit job being dicked about by the club a bit. -
Spot on, ridiculous they have taken this long to even consider a change we are in a far more precarious position than we would have been if the change was made right after the loss to Chelsea.
-
That has been my feeling on it like, same as last time with all the talk of De Boer etc then in walked ol' quiffy.
-
Why the fuck would he come to Newcastle? Unless they are paying him a fucking fortune but even then it's an odd move for him.

Responsible for making sure there was no lint build up in the tumble dryers iirc.

"Steve and I had a discussion and he convinced me that he still has a plan to get us fighting back higher up the table, I want to thank the fans for their patience while we underwent this decision and I look forward to getting behind Steve as he leads the club on to bigger and better things." -
People like Adrian Chiles discussing football.

I genuinely hope that Ryder was next to the fence with the photographer (which I hope was cock-eyed Mala), I imagine him dressed head to toe in camo he bought from the surplus store hoping to get the 'exclusive' that Steve McClaren has OFFICIALLY left the training ground despite everyone else knowing that it was a fucking given because he leaves the training ground at some point every day. -

The fact they keep banging on about Benitez makes me doubt their claim he is going to meet Charnley, he's probably off to put his feet up have a cup of Yorkshire tea then practice his Dutch accent. I just cannot think why Benitez would want to join NUFC? It is also so far out of the managers they have appointed in the past I wouldn't be surprised if Charnley and Ashley were unaware of who Benitez is. -

Oh aye it definitely comes down to coaching, it's impossible that the North East suddenly has no one capable of becoming a Premier League player. We've got total morons as coaches, I can only imagine what the youth coaches are paid when you look at how underpaid the first team coaches are compared to other clubs, so you get what you pay for really.
