  1. It just came up on a google search for 'rafa benitez' think it's from some interview. I think Haydonator has the picture in his avatar somewhere as well.
  2. Wind up merchant. No doubt a group of middle aged mackems will kick in some 13 year old charvas near the train station then claim to have 'won the war' regardless of the result on the pitch.
  3. I'm still holding out hope that Mbemba and Colo will be back, I can't watch many more games of Taylor and Lascelles.
  4. It's bizarre like, the 'we always beat yous' craic is mental as well considering it has only been the last 3 years. It's almost as ridiculous as that shite some pundits are coming out with about how we should have got a bloke like Pearson who has experienced relegation fights rather than Benitez who is used to being up the other end of the table, you need wins whether you're scrapping relegation or trying to come top 4 and Benitez is a better bet for those wins. As I say they're right that we're shit and struggle to score but their kidding themselves if they think they are any better.
  5. I'd feel more confident in it if we actually score some goals at the weekend mind, I'd like to see Townsend start as well we looked a bit more lively with him on.
  6. Aye dodgy prick, probably among the ones using the whole "she's really fit though" point, talking about how sexy kids are is all a bit too Savile. Why didn't they just rip their club to bits over these fiascoes? This weird constantly trying to defend the club/players thing is insane, I mean that last quote from that bloke is literally accusing the rape victims of a bloke who isn't even playing for them anymore of making it up, they need to fucking learn the difference between being under suspicion and being charged...
  7. Just saw this one: "I saw this point made elsewhere a couple of days ago: Say that Newcastle get to the last game of the season and they need a win to stay up. But in the meantime, Rafa has become completely disillusioned with the fans, and they have been dressing up as Arabs on buses, and Rafa-oot.com is racking up thousands of hits a day. He gets a better job offer for next season on good money, but it is dependent on him being released from his Newcastle contract, otherwise a big chunk of his package is going to be be needed to compensate Newcastle. Isn't it going to potentially save him a huge amount of money if he sends Newcastle down and triggers the release clause? Towards the end of the season would it not start to be in his interests for Newcastle to be relegated? It strikes me that Newcastle is one of the few clubs in recent times where managers and the chairman have been actively looking for a way out rather than waiting to be sacked. This is another reason why I think it is so important we get a victory on the weekend. A lot of them will have been quietly seething at losing to Leicester because they are a side that has effectively taken the slot that they believe they should be occupying. If they lost to us on the weekend, it could potentially be a one-two punch that would leave Rafa with very little time to come up with a fan winning result. If he gets 4 or 5 games in and he is seeing the ugly side of the fans, maybe he will be starting to think "I need a way out of here" and losses may become more appealing than victories. It is not like a bad run there is going to harm his reputation that much. It is regarded as a basket case club by many. It certainly will not hurt his reputation in Spain, they will know what happened to Bobby Robson there." Renton said in the other thread that they seem to have completely forgotten how shit they are as well and I think this post shows it. The way this bloke is weirdly going on about some ridiculous hypothetical acts like their club is not a complete and utter mess as well, he's a fan of a club that played a nonce and had a bloke that is now charged with two rapes on the books, they've had a new manager every year for the last four years relying on that new manager bounce to save them from relegation each season, the way he goes on you'd think they were a stable club .
  8. That would make sense tbh. I'm feeling a bit like Fish here but I think we'll win 3-4 of our remaining games and draw a couple, I think we'll lose to Man City, Liverpool and Spurs. Have to hope that will be enough, I think it's going to be tight I just hope we can get the injured players back asap and not lose anyone else.
  9. Agreed, we should and have to beat these twats. I'm shocked at the way they go on about our side mind, we're shit aye and they're right about it but they seem to have completely forgotten that they are also absolutely shit as well, they're 1 point above us and you would think they were 12 points clear of us the way they're going on. We had the game in comfortable control last time until the ref decided to make himself known, the worry with us is can we score. I think we will control the ball and have the better of the play but we need to score otherwise it is pointless (as it has been so often this season).
  10. I must admit I'm confused by our scouting in general. We brought in Thauvin a lad who was voted one of the worst players in the French league for 13m while he was playing alongside Payet who was sold for 9m-ish and has been class, did they not watch Thauvin? surely they would have noticed that Payet fella looks a bit better? I guess he doesn't fit that stupid fucking age bracket they were buying for. Anita is a really confusing one, a mate told me when he was in Amsterdam an Ajax fan told him they were chuffed when we bought Anita. If he was good enough to be bought by a Prem club you would at least hope he was a stand out performer in the Dutch league but I guess he wasn't. He just brings absolutely nothing to the table, he's even starting to look afraid to pass forward, as I said in the match thread there was a bit of play where he received the ball from Taylor, turned and moved about 5 yards up the field, Janmaat was clearly open and visible ahead of him to the right, Kante began to close him down and Anita immediately stopped turned around and passed back to Taylor. Is Saivet seriously worse than him? I can't imagine he will be as Anita has nothing at all about him, we even retained the ball better after he went off.
  11. I think so as well. We made Leicester look shaky towards the end there and they often looked panicked under pressure. An offside goal and a penalty turned down obviously is frustrating but we restricted one of the best attacking sides in the league to only really a few chances with a back four consisting of a CM and two of our back up CB's. The mackem game is key, lose that and all the negativity people are saying about today is warranted but I'm not down about the result today.
  12. Agreed, think we were about as improved as you could hope after 3 days of training. There are some deep faults with the squad, such as an overwhelming desire to favour the backwards pass which has been ingrained over the past 3 years, but I think that was the most positive we've looked away from home and it came against the top side in the league. We kept Mahrez and Vardy almost completely silent all game so if we do similar against the Mackems we'll get at least a draw (we do need to win mind).
  13. Aye we did, a lot more positive once he was taken off. We'll not see him starting next week though thankfully.
  14. They've conceded 7 goals since Boxing day though and I think we saw a fair bit more positive play away from home than we have pretty much all season. Mind I also don't get how you're happy to call Mitrovic shit but stick up for an utter useless bastard like Anita.
  15. I don't think it is at all, especially 2nd half. They got a scrappy goal because of some stupid individual errors.
  16. Thought we've done well today, we were the better side tbh. Sadly didn't get anything but I saw the improvement that I wanted to see from just 3 days of training.
  17. Should have been a pen there, Morgan moved his elbow out there.
  18. Aye kept the ball better since Anita went off.
  19. Rafa noticing in 55 minutes what the last two have failed to notice, Anita is fucking tragic.
  20. He looks like a middle school kid every time he passes, telegraphs where the pass is going every time.
