Aye that's what I was meaning, he come in during January then we had Keegan, Kinnear and Shearer in 5 months, so it was a total mess and hard for him to have much impact in all of that. I think Cathro had much more opportunity as he had a full pre-season and the whole time under McClaren for us to see any impact. Not blaming the bloke btw, the shit show is on McClaren, Charnley and Ashley just it makes me nervous that he's not all that great since he didn't seem to have much impact during the time (although it is hard to assess).

I suppose, that season was a total disaster with a mental rotation of managers whereas Cathro was here the whole time with McClaren. I worry that if he was such a good coach would we not see a bit more evidence? I mean there's no real way of knowing but I'm leaning more towards Gpirlo's skepticism than thinking we've got another Hughton.

Aye, I know a lot make out that the Everton-Liverpool rivalry isn't as hate filled as most but there's definitely dislike there. They have a bit more pride than the mackems who are happy to take anyone we get rid of as well.
