I always thought it was weird that they had banners saying fuck the mackems all over the place. Saying that if I grew up in a place that resembled Mordor I’d be self loathing as well.

Newcastle United: Club Sold To PCP - Official
Howay replied to The Mighty Hog's topic in Newcastle Forum
The press are desperate like, the whole thing with the government was pretty widely discussed at the time. -
Sounds like an average Tuesday in Pennywell tbf. Couple of stray staffys milling about nearby and a bloke passed out on a nearby bench to really set the scene.
-
Making friends. Also, this E-Sunderland bloke smells a bit like a Walter Mitty? Isn’t tabbing and yomping the same thing but used by different parts of the forces? The mention of selection too…. I mean in general it’s a weird thing to bring up but that’s mackems.

Aye he’s incredible tbh, you’d never think in the lead up to this game we were the side who hadn’t been in this sort of position for donkeys years and they were the team that were used to it, Ten Hag looked like he was lashing out under pressure and losing his cool while Eddie didn’t rise to it, the tactics from both pointed to it as well tbh.

I love their new banter that the whole CL qualification thing, which was never going to happen a few weeks back, is only happening because we’re flukey. We’re headed for a similar points tally that top 4 always requires, and they’ll list who has been “horrendous” as if there’s not always some of the “big 6” having seasons like this every fucking season . Can’t wait until we fluke a league title win.

I just stared at the league table for a good 5 minutes tonight What the actual fuck man? We’re third, with two games in hand over one of our main rivals for a CL spot with 11 games to go. This is fucking mental, even just looking at 3 losses is mind blowing given we’d usually rack that up before September in recent years, it’s also the same as the team that are likely going to be champions. Only 19 goals conceded too, that’s 7 less than the closest which is fucking Manchester City. Then you look at the playing staff we’ve got into this position with and it shows what an absolutely stunning job Howe has done, of course all of the players deserve a fucking mountain of praise but the vast majority of them would barely have dreamed of a season like this let alone be living it. I know the media are biased as fuck but they really aren’t talking about this enough, we were fucking bottom with 0 wins 18 month ago .

Athleticism v technical ability - which is more important?
Howay replied to Dr Gloom's topic in Newcastle Forum
I always think people often fall into the trap of thinking it’s one or the other (not saying that’s you Gloom just in general), the reality is most top players do both, they have quality and are extremely hard working and strong. Grealish for example is an absolute work horse of a player but because of how he carry’s himself he can be seen as lazy or a flair player, Mahrez on their opposite flank is phenomenally hard working and is an absolutely incredible player. James Maddison works very hard, covers a ton of ground in games but it’s rarely mentioned, if you watch a Leicester game and notice how when they’re on the attack he’s constantly popping up in different areas left to right when he’s on the ball, harder to see this year because they’re so bad mind. Honestly that to me is where we see links like McTominay coming from, this view that Howe wants hard working players so that means a McTominay or a Longstaff, but look at Bruno Guimeraes - he easily matches the work rate of those players but also has immense ability on the ball. The difference for most teams is those Bruno type players are out of reach both budget and ambition wise. We will be in for the players who have both, Isak, Bruno etc types. -
I like how it’s “tin hat on” time to say a bloke who would be their joint top scorer, with the goals coming in a division higher, might be one he would consider having.
-
Aye, it just again shows how little they understand the quality gap - for example when Murphy last played in that league he got 9 goals from the wing, of course to them he’s shite but he’d comfortably be either their best or among their best.
-
Mid table championship side but at a push he’d only take 5 of the side that’s currently 3rd in the Premier League.
-
Just going off this: I’ve heard this “gardening leave” type of situation is more common in Europe. Maybe he’s wrong.
-
The press linking them to Nagelsmann now, apparently he’s still under contract at Bayern so they’d need to pay out his contract in order to get him . So in one season they might have paid out Tuchels contract, paid Brighton for Potter and then paid him a significant portion of his contract for 6 months, and then have to pay out Nagelsmanns contract . If people thought this Boehly and his team knew what they were doing surely that ruins that theory.

I agree he had a good game today, he’s become a little less selfish for sure but as ATP mentions he won’t ever be consistent. My point still stands too that for all the praise he’s getting for the assist he lost the ball three times in the build up, it was almost laughable lack of concentration and awareness. You also can’t have performances like he did last match in a team vying for the CL and he does it very regularly. I’m honestly more just tired of this discussion over him, he has a tragic game and everyone slates him like he’s the worst, then he has a decent game like today and there’s this outpouring about him but honestly he was maybe, at best, our 4th best player today behind Bruno, Trippier, and Isak? I get people like him, I’m personally not a fan but I still get it as he can be exciting whereas I just see a player that’s regularly sloppy. I’ll always wish him well as he seems a genuine person and provided some bright moments in some horrible seasons but I’m ready to watch dependable consistent ballers like Isak.
-
Howay man, he had a good game and deserves praise, but it was against a full back that can’t defend - the same one he did well against in the final and their manager inexplicably set the same match up - he took the assist well but also lost the ball 3 fucking times in the build up thankfully the rest of our side kept winning it back, as well as he played this week he was equally as fucking tragic the game before, if we want to be at the level we are aiming for you need to be consistent. He’s been the same for four seasons, he will never be a consistent performer and in between good performances he has ones where he’s a complete liability. Hopefully we sign Diaby in the summer and can continue to improve our starting 11.
-
No bother, I’m more than happy for both our teams to carry on as they are. Enjoy it Hank you pedo clapper
-
Meanwhile Surely the PL has to step in at some point. So that’s this lad, another Brazilian youth player, the full back from Lyon, and Nkuku signed for next season, totaling well over £100m spent in next seasons summer window before this season has ended
-
The FFP hit for this season and next, alongside no CL money is going to be fucking crippling.
-
What a fucking disaster they’ve been this season, paid £25m to get him out of Brighton and gave him some insane 5 year 200k a week deal iirc, a few months later they’ve paid it all up and the bloke they sacked to get him just went to Bayern Munich while all their expensive signings have flopped.

Above our levels? We’re above your billion pound squad after 28 games. What a fucking melt. Had nothing to do with passion tbh, we were better in every single department 1 shot on target while the other side was camped on the edge of your area the rest of the game isn’t down to “wanting it more”. He won’t last long.
