I think Defoe would be more use than Rashford, I suppose if Roy sees the tournament as a complete throw away and just wants to get future players used to tournaments it may be worth taking Rashford but can Roy afford to do that? Surely he barely survived the sack last time after the shambolic world cup. I think we're going to see Vardy, Kane, and Rooney taken, which I think should be enough strikers anyway (Rooney is guaranteed on the plane for Roy). It's going to be interesting to see if he tries to play Vardy and Kane, or if he's going to just go with Kane and Vardy coming on as a sub.

Aye it's very similar but I think it's possibly even dafter with striker actually being a deep position for England now with Vardy, Kane, etc. He should be with the U21's getting experience with them, if he's still doing well next season that's when I'd start giving him friendlies etc.

I see Hodgson has included that Rashford kid in his training squad, so it would seem he's ahead of Defoe in Roy's eyes.

I'd usually feel similar to HF but I think we stand a slight chance of him staying, all because of his rumoured desire to remain near Liverpool. Without that I'd say there's absolutely no shot and we're being strung along, if it's been over-exaggerated then aye we're being strung along, but it's about all we have to cling too at the moment so we may as well hold on to it. I fucking despise Ashley but honestly 50k people turning up and being abusive about him doesn't bother him at all, if Rafa leaves then a full scale boycott of the club might actually have some sway on him since there's not as much TV money coming in (although there is parachute payments) but for the Spurs game it does nowt but possibly help Rafa's decision. Fwiw I do think HF stands more of a chance of being right about Rafa's decision than my point, I'm just hoping he sticks around as honestly it's going to be shit going from Rafa to Cathro.

I really do hope there's a positive atmosphere, we need to do all we can to get Rafa to stay. A nasty poisonous atmosphere does nothing to get rid of Ashley and it would perhaps give Rafa a reason to hesitate, so what's the point?

Aye sounds fairly positive, seems more dependent on Ashley and co not fucking stuff up which is a very reasonable request. He did well aye, I thought he'd lost it towards the end but he got them going again. He's good at getting graft out of his teams, he'll be fine getting you battling relegation/bottom half but if your club ever have ambitions for higher up the table you'd need to swap him out. At least we might win some games, I think if Benitez leaves it'll be Cathro in much the same way it was Hughton last time. He's a total unknown tbh and I think most of our 'better' players would be eyeing the exit if Rafa went.

I dislike the bloke aye, I can say he is an average Premier League manager though and I think that's a fair assessment of the bloke. Sadly one of your clubs more 'bottom of the barrel' supporters (all supports have them) seems to think he's better than Benitez which tbh is really ridiculous. I think if we hang onto Benitez we'll come right back up, I can't guarantee it but he really changed us as a team in just the 8 games he had so I think given a full pre-season to work with them we'll do fine. It's a big if at the moment though, without him I'm not as confident of our season.
