  1. Just biding their time. Now we've been relegated I think missing out on Benik Afobe is an even dafter move, ignoring the fact he may well have kept us in the league he'd have scored plenty in the Championship.
  2. HMHM on his way to meet Gemmill at the Forth
  3. That's all on averages though, we haven't spent well with regularity it has been boom and bust type spending. If we had spent more when we came 5th we'd have probably fared better since then, instead he spent 8m on Anita and that was it until his arse nipped about relegation iirc.
  4. Aye it's canny funny, shame it means Man City are really good now but it's funny to see shit players like Goater act like they were top players. Similar to Pardew and his continental specs during the good times, "FA cup final manager lads all fanks to me... the nosedive in form since Xmas was your lots fault though".
  5. Why do you keep putting cuts in quotes? They happened man, as Gpirlo pointed out. When we had secured a safe position in the Premier League we quite clearly started scaling the spending back until the ownership began to panic about what has ended up happening. Until we are in a similar position of strength and keep spending I see no reason to doubt it wont happen again. The only thing Rafa can get is a promise though, so him staying is by no means any sort of proof that we'll be allowed to turn into a side that challenges for places higher up the table with any regularity. I'd like to trust him like you seemingly do but Ashley has done nothing whatsoever to convince me he deserves my trust, panic spending doesn't get rid of the doubt he wont not spend again if he feels the squad could survive another season.
  6. Aye the funniest bit of the while Man City rapid ascent is when they wheel out ex-players like Shaun Goater and Paolo Wanchope, then act like they were top class players in their day because they played for Man City when in reality they were fucking dogshit and spent their careers scrapping relegation.
  7. Aye... What happened after we finished 5th? We didn't capitalize at all and we ended up skimping on buying players for a few windows, never really bothered replacing Cabaye other than Jack Colback on a free. The fact is nowadays in the PL you need to spend a lot to just stand still, Ashley refused to do so and we went backwards rapidly and he had to try and buy a bunch of players in the hope it could keep us up, it failed because he again had decided to take the cheap option in management as well as buying young lads rather than anything proven (another attempt at money making). I find it odd that you still trust and even seem to like Ashley.
  8. Aye that's what I think will happen as well. Ashley knows he needs the team back in the Prem so he'll give Rafa whatever he wants to get them back there and to a strong position in it then he'll start to make his cuts again, Rafa will leave and we'll be back to scrapping the drop.
  9. Get in Vardy! Lacing it in off the keepers head.
  10. Wilshere has been completely useless, good choice picking him for the plane Roy.
  11. Hart's biggest problem is he wants to be noticed all the time, he does it whenever he gets the ball passed back to him as he faffs on until he's under a ton of pressure. Shame Butland got injured as I think he'd have pushed Hart for the starting position.
  12. I can't believe he's really insisting on playing Wilshere man.
  13. Aye doesn't quite fit their little agenda I'd never heard about that either, neither does the fact that fans racially abusing one of their most prolific strikers in recent years mother forced him into moving away. They can bang on about Sir Bobby being abused all they like, I was there it didn't fucking happen, as Renton said it was more a sentiment of it's time to move upstairs from the people that wanted him to finish as opposed to any venom whatsoever. In fact most of the anger was leveled at Jenas, Dyer and Bramble who were seen as the cunts that were ignoring him and messing about iirc. They always seem to bring up things their own fan base/players have done, like that idiot on here the other week starting multiple threads alluding to Cisse being a paedo and the greggs bloke being a nonce, why do that? It only draws attention to the fact they fucking celebrated a bloke that was on trial for noncing and even sung songs about him shagging whoever he wants, it's an argument they'd never fucking win. Stick to overdone and unfunny jokes about a bloke punching a horse, at least we can't accuse them of that one yet.
  14. Suppose everyone needs that mindless entertainment, like Gemmill with his Mindy Project nonsense. I must admit I've also fell down that manic wormhole that is RTG and it never disappoints, they're fucking lunatics even the level headed ones end up getting abused for being maggie cunts . Wolfy was a nutter wasn't he , when I was driving the other day a car pulled out in front of me and had a bumper sticker that said "9/11 was an inside job" a pretty insensitive bumper sticker to have in a town as hard hit by the disaster as the town I live in but his ridiculous Dodge Charger seemed untouched, it made me think of Wolfy mind .
  15. Ah well at least Pardew didn't win an FA cup. Think I could stomach any side bar the Mackems winning it over him.
  16. Aye I was too and it was more of a grumbling due to raised expectations (which were raised by the performance of Robson's side) not quite being met as opposed to any sort of abuse from what I remember. I know for a fact that they gave Peter Reid actual abuse (including hoying bananas at him while he was in the dugout) and he has been their best manager in the Premier League era...
  17. Who knows if they do, I'm willing to accept that they genuinely do believe it the same way that I accepted that the mug that was spamming the forum the other day believed that Sam Allardyce is a better manager than Rafa Benitez. They literally have fuck all to cling to man, they even made up the 'classy' thing because that is how little they have as a city and as a club. So aye I'm fairly sure they genuinely believe that Robson got a torrent of hate, when in actual fact it was more like a 'time to go' mentality from the people that wanted him to leave.
  18. Honestly lads I don't know why you're even arsed, they've been saying all this shite for fucking years. Stuff like Robson being a MLF and trying to redraw boundries on maps, it's small time fucking nonsense and it's all they've had to hang onto for their entire lives. I've seen my team finish 2nd in my lifetime, play in the Champions League multiple times will they ever come close to seeing either of those things? They can keep making stuff up to be 'better' at or take away from the City of Newcastle but it's all just fucking nonsense so let them have it.
  19. Chuffed with that, especially after seeing Pardews pathetic little dance. The wheels will be well and truly off for Palace next season and I fully expect them to be scrapping relegation with the Mackems. It's always hard to root for Man Utd but the additional silver lining (along with Pardew not winning a cup) with that is the outside chance of Van Gaal staying on the back of a 5th place finish and an FA cup win .
  20. Went to school with a few of the lads playing so I'll be watching in all. Fingers crossed for them.
  21. I knew he'd be in full on bespectacled continental mode, what a cunt. He'll be stood on the edge of the technical area glasses on with a piece of paper in his right hand, and pen in between fingers, with his arms crossed and his left hand stoking his chin as if he's in contemplation of the minute tactical adjustments he can make to guide his team to a cup win. We all know his advice for the players before the games amounted to "Yannick! Get saaam faacking chaawwwk on yaa boots saahn... and Wicks lad get in amongst them, get raaafff wiff their back line". His sight sharply increases when the team do shit, as does his avoidance of cameras.
  22. That would be a full time job.
