Do they genuinely not think we are the best side in the division? I get that they hate us but it shows how fucking pathetic they are if their dislike completely warps their rationality and sees them set themselves up for embarrassment by all acting like we will be shit. We will win the league and it'll be class, people say Villa are our biggest threat, we were 20 points above them last season and have spent 25m already making the side better.

Was just editing my post to add that thread. Fucking thick twats, a day ago it was hilarious to them that we would think he would come and now they're all crying saying "it's just for more money", aye which is why 90% of players play for who they do ffs or do they think their players have a deep love for SAFC?

I had a quick look on the mackem site to see if we were still relevant to them (after they've kept telling us how irrelevant we are) and of course they have threads on each of our new signings. The Matt Ritchie thread has a new thing in 'mag in the paper shop' they all keep saying how we are shit but we now all keep talking about how good we will be, seemingly not understanding that since we have dropped a division we now are one of the better sides in the league we are playing in, thick cunts. His goal record is ok for a lad that has had a lot of sub apps and played under Pardew for a few year. I like this clear switch to a two up top system and I'm excited to see these players come in, Gayle dropping a division tells me he's hungry to prove himself.

Aye I agree with toonotl. I feel no ill will to him, he was one of the ones that really tried once he was match fit. I personally don't think the move is a good one, Pardew has a completely tragic record with players and it's especially bad with wingers. We will be back next season, he knows it but obviously just wants to be in London. I think Ritchie will suit us better down there anyway as we will have lots of possession and the lad has a really good delivery.

Chuffed with this one, as DK said about the best we could hope for to replace Townsend. Townsends best performances are better than his but I think Ritchie has less off games than Townsend. He's more of a technician winger (like a destitute mans Beckham type) than a pacy one but that will help is in a division we are going to have a lot of possession.

That's the one aspect this hinges on really, how much does he want to go back to London. I assume it's a fair bit but you never know.

Aye Palace is a fucking hovel, their ground is shit and their facilities are Championship standard, he'll be playing in the PL but bar the opposition it'll feel like a step down. We will be back in a year in all, it'd be a waste of him leaving if he was to just go to no marks like Palace. Would have to listen to Alan Pardew daily as well which would drive anyone into a deep depression.

3 of the 4 goals the team have conceded ffs. The formation has looked pedestrian and struggled to break teams down in the 3 prior games so he thought he would stick with it. We would have got murdered by France but ffs at least go and get murdered by France don't lose to fucking Iceland .
