Most friendly games are man, don't bother bringing Cabayes up ffs (no idea why you keep bringing it up) it was against Conference side Darlington and we only won 2-0, we beat a side 6-0 this pre-season and you had fuck all to say about it.

Vitesse are probably about the best team we've played in friendlies so far tbh. A win is good, especially against a half decent side. As I've said after every pre season game (the 6-0 win and 2-2 draw included) it means absolutely fuck all. Good the lads scored a few again today and Gayle got one.

Fair enough about Bamford. As I said I'd be more into loans if we weren't signing players of the quality we've managed to bring in so far. For what it's worth I'd like to see us being in another striker if we were planning on playing 2 up top, although the lads we have now have enough about them for this league imo. The hard part with loaning players from big sides is that the ones that would improve us are already on the bubble of first team games, like iheanacho and Loftus-Cheek, or they're generally overrated, like Will Keane at Man utd who is currently getting transfer interest from the Mackems and others, he's scored about 4 goals in 50 games and is 23 years old.

Why do you keep bringing Bamford up? Mitrovic is a year younger and a far better player. As I pointed out in an earlier post Gayle has an equally decent Championship record and has actually managed about 1 in 4 in the prem. Perez is clearly better than Bamford as well. There's no point loaning someone if they won't improve us, Bamford probably wouldn't get on the pitch for us so what's the point? I'd have been tempted to go and loan a bunch of players if we couldn't attract anyone but so far we've taken one of Bournemouths better players, a full back who played 14 games last season for a top 3 side in Spain, a really highly rated youngster from Arsenal, Blackburns captain and possibly best player, and a striker with a respectable championship return who has actually found the net in the PL. I think people are genuinely confused by who you think we could loan that would be more exciting than that bunch, iheanacho from Man City? Absolutely no shot at a lad like that and that's the sort of youngster the top clubs might have that would improve us.

Gayle got 13 in 29 for Peterborough in the championship = not exciting, Bamford who got 17 in 39 = exciting. Also Bamford has been fucking diabolical at the PL level and Gayle has managed about 1 in 4 as a sub.

I've thought the same thing about him just making sure he gets his shots on target rather than have a proper go. The amount of one on ones where he has ended up side footing it directly at the middle of the goal is ridiculous.

I'm not sure why he would use Okacha as an example of managing top players, the bloke never played for a top class side. He was a bit of a cult hero because he pulled off some good showboating, like a PL level Lee Trundle.
