  1. Shame, we might have seen a few games where we create more than one chance. Hanging on by the skin of our teeth here, Hanley coming on so we're going to be sat deep.
  2. Was that a two footed challenge by Diame? The numpties on the radio seem to think it was, sounds like he got lucky.
  3. Sounds like we're not creating loads and getting ropier at the back as the match goes on. I'm sure Rafa has his reasons for wasting a position with Diame but we don't seem to create much when he's on the field.
  4. Is that not what toontastic really is though?
  5. I can only assume Yedlin isn't fully fit as he's been one of our best players the last few games. Disappointing to see Diame starting yet again, really don't see what he brings to the side and to see him constantly starting weakens the rotation reasoning behind seeing players like Ritchie and Yedlin dropped to the bench.
  6. That's most likely the case, even if it was Charnley I don't think we'd fuck up a transfer that badly.
  7. Aye, I mean you could well be right I've barely seen much of us this season tbh, I've listened to most on the radio and you know how that is. I completely agree regarding Rafa, I question him in an ignorant football fan way but in reality I know that he knows best. I think it's a big difference to where I thought I knew better than pardew because now when I disagree I think hold on you don't know what your on about. I just worry that Diame hasn't found his feet yet and Mitro or Perez may fair better, I think Diame clearly has ability since he scored freely for Hull last season but for some reason he's missing the mark for us.
  8. It really does show how fucking thick people that run football clubs often are, they had a written contract with Inter saying they'd buy him for 10.5m if they avoided relegation, they then avoided relegation activating that clause and they thought what? They could just not bother with it? It's fucking hilarious really, so they had a contract stipulation forcing them to pay for him, didn't bother signing him to any contract and never registered him which made him a free agent apparently , at the very fucking least just sign the cunt and mitigate your losses. I suppose it's good that it's not just us with total numpties like Charnley running things.
  9. The comedian is called Bill Burr, iirc Gemmill likes him too and not just because he's of the same zero kids opinion as him. The joke starts along the lines of him impersonating a politician at a rally saying: "I will institute a policy that will eliminate 45 to 55% of you starting immediately, there is a short quiz under your seats to determine the first batch, if you don't have a pen or pencil with you you're already out!". Aye it is depressing stuff, people joke over here that a President doesn't want to make major moves in their first term as they want to win a second term, then once they get a second term their party doesn't want them to make any major moves as they want to have their next guy get in power, I think you do get some presidents that try and force their hand in their 2nd term but on the whole it rings true. Agree about a need for a shift into long term thinking but unfortunately a vast proportion of voters are thick. Imagine how upset people would be if you told them they could only have two kids, whether it's right or not wouldn't matter, then the oppositions bloke would simply waltz out and go "fuck that nob, vote for me and you can have 15 kids if you want" and they'd win in a landslide. Long term we're all completely fucked, I suppose the silver lining is we'll no doubt be long gone by the time the shit really hits the fan and we run out of food/water/space but it's going to be pretty fucking grim for our future generations.
  10. Agree fully with what Renton said in response, there's no votes in long term thinking for the most part you don't need to look any further than CT talking about how Labour are to blame for the '08 financial crash for proof it's whoever is in now is who is to blame for most. I think the other thing with Government is that a lot of them are lifelong politicians, they have no real knowledge or experience in the fields they are regulating and as I said somewhere in the film thread ( sorry Fish) the people below them aren't generally the brightest sparks in the field (unless they reach out to high level ex-professionals etc) so I don't think they have the best grasp on these topics or how best to try and avert these sort of issues. My favorite comedian does a whole bit about the problem of overpopulation and how it's this very real issue but no one is going to touch it with a barge pole, it would effectively require a politician to stand up and announce how they are going to systematically decrease the population by 40-50%. We all know this exponential growth in population is completely unsustainable but there's no way a politician can stand and make a long term pledge on it. While it's obviously more visceral a topic than economics I really do think it shows how difficult it is to get people to vote for long term things if something like overpopulation that is so clearly an issue that everyone understands would get zero traction how would a complex issue that very little of the population understand (some that don't even advocating burying your head in the sand about in this very thread) fare better?
  11. "Who can blame them when even the Bank of England chief economist tells people not to bother with pensions but to buy houses instead." The same Bank of England that saw the 2008 crash coming a mile off... " A culture has arisen similar to that seen in the US before the 2007 housing crash with a certainty that house prices can only rise and people wishing to throw every penny of their investment at the market. " That's what we were all saying in the other thread iirc. Overall that's a very depressing outlook, you can live within your means and turn a blind eye to this as CT says but of course you should naturally worry about these things because they can have an extremely large impact on your life, even the worth of the money sitting in your bank account or under your mattress.
  12. Gayle on his goal: "It's a bit of a blur now - crazy scenes. I couldn't breathe; I was getting suffocated by my whole team and head-butted by Mitro. It was a crazy couple of minutes but something I'll never forget."
  13. I don't think it has been working all that well, we lost against Huddersfield, Wolves, drew with Aston Villa and were losing to Norwich with that system, we did beat Bristol, Derby and Brighton with it (Only 6 shots on target in total between those 3 games), but we fucking battered QPR 6-0 and Reading 4-1 playing a different system (19 shots on target in those two games). Aye it got us 3 wins but I don't think it's been so successful that we shouldn't consider changing it, Diame has been doing nowt for a few games in a row now, in fact for all his time on the pitch he has no goals and 1 assist whereas both Mitro and Perez have a goal and an assist in less games. Our most impressive wins have come when we played some pairing of Gayle, Perez, and Mitro.
  14. True, it's just mint seeing how arrogant they are in those videos and imagine them watching it back uncomfortably in some FA room.
  15. Is there any point in Redknapp being on the list, we've all known he's crooked as fuck for yonks.
  16. Agreed, I just don't think Diame is doing a lot. I'd prefer to give Mitro a run there and see what Gayle can do playing off him but I'd even prefer just sticking Perez in behind Gayle over Diame playing.
  17. I thought he was naturally that colour, drank too much Sunny D when that was a thing.
  18. Do you write this into some sort of calendar?
  19. The very same one that was one of Bournemouth's better players when they came above us in the PL table.
  20. Howay

    Rafa'd

Aye he scored a few goals when we first got him and got in good positions, then Pardew told him enough was enough and you can't be attacking down the wings he needed to hang back and cover him man, then drilled it 5 days a week.
  21. See we moan a lot about how rough we have it but then you have lads like that who are genuinely excited to be watching games in the Championship as they get to watch teams of Newcastle's calibre play theirs. Seem a good bunch and I hope they're right in their predictions that it's going to be a mullering. This is precisely the game NUFC would typically lose but I'm predicting a 3-0 convincing win. Gayle to get two, one of which will be from a Mitro knock down.
  22. Good for Coleman, we've been inundated by all the crooks sticking up for Sam, Phil Brown saying it's like a death in the family.
