  1. Clarke can’t even get selected for the U21 over Gordon who they all think is complete shite. But aye he’s nailed on to be an England regular.
  2. He’s shite for Chelsea and was shite at Brighton. Probably the most negative player in the premier league, terrified of risking the ball ever. Would be a huge rip off at £30m, one of the worst deals of all time Chelsea paying £60m for him. I think the link’s bollocks anyway tbh.
  3. Aye, not really any interest in players that have had the peak of their careers as they tend to lack the desire. Trippier was an exception due to his desire to be home.
  4. Nice to hear this is how the market is starting to perceive the club, and how we are operating.
  5. I’ve long thought these figures were FFP ones and not traditional “war chests”. As ewerk says the payment structure doesn’t matter for FFP, it’s simply the fee paid + contract amortized over the length of the player contract the timing of when cash is paid doesn’t factor in. I agree that it’s most likely FFP yearly amortization number though so £75m would get you a number of £40m players. The issue I have is none of these journalists frame it up that way, they act like it’s £75m in fees this window which is absurdly low.
  6. Backtracking. If it’s related to FFP there’s no such thing as “1st team budget”, and there’s no way the Saudis would only allow a budget of £75m .
  7. Aye, he’s doing exactly what many thought some of the group of ex players that always played the cunt would do post takeover. Fuck him.
  8. I wouldn’t take what Romano says as entirely accurate tbh.
  9. Aye remember the way they went on during the Botman transfer. As much as Edwards is a nob and reports a lot of shite in terms of links he rarely reports bids being submitted, the last being Botman? So maybe there’s something in it.
  10. Aye I mean I don’t mind them doing it, I just love a dig at Real Madrid and their fans tbh.
  11. They booed C. Ronaldo mind. Probably the worst and most toxic fan base in football.
  12. Likely a load of shite but an exciting link
  13. None of it bothers them but at the same time every post explains that the Saudis will stop spending money on NUFC. They’ve done this since the take over happened . I honestly think they think more about our ownership than most toon fans.
  14. Aye, we’ve also just spent £7m - £10m on an 18 year old who we’ve loaned out immediately, which kind of seems weird with the amount of players we need and the quoted £75m (I know it wasn’t Edwards that said that amount btw). Seems like a bit of smoke and mirrors by our lot tbh.
  15. The mackems will be gutted about this loan, MLFs loaning toon players!
  16. I’m fairly sure Maguire normally plays left sided CB, which we’ve locked down with Botman and Burn, we’d be looking for a right sided one. The Maguire rumours are simply journalists hoping other people take on Manchester United’s dog shit, the blokes reportedly on £250k a week man no one’s taking those wages on.
  17. I find a lot of the reaction about Maddison on twitter weird, lots of stuff about his attitude and how he doesn’t run as much etc. The thing is Leicester don’t play that way so weren’t asking him to press like our team does, I’m fairly comfortable in thinking that Howe/Ashworth would ensure he had the right attitude and would do what was asked of him before they spent £50m on the bloke.
  18. Does this floppy cunt ever not discuss us, did that True Geordie bloke shag his mam or something?
  19. The first person he listed had a massive concert in Dubai, so aye.
  20. Genuinely don’t know why people are responding and arguing with this. If their point is Sunderland is better than Newcastle it’s the height of delusion, there’s no point comparing the two as Newcastle is simply better in basically every way. It’s a group of people who will try and argue their stadium is better than SJP ffs it’s just lunacy.
