  1. Tbh I’ve questioned for a while if we were even interested in Maddison since CL qualification. I feel like it’s similar to the Diego Carlos transfer where he suited our profile of target in that January window but we never went back in for him that summer. I’d have liked Maddison as I rate him as a player but Szoboszlai seems to fit the profile of player we’ve been targeting closer.
  2. There’s a ton of absolute shite spoken on talksport but this might genuinely be one of the worst takes I’ve ever seen.
  3. They’re so weirdly obsessed with Staveley, she’s a minority owner of the club. How would any of this be embarrassing for the Saudis?
  4. Who gives a fuck? Italian journalists are constantly banging on about this shit, I couldn’t give a fuck. He’s advancing his career tbh and if people can’t see that they don’t understand football.
  5. Aye, think I read somewhere that Howe sees him as very versatile so once he’s up to speed he will cover a lot of positions.
  6. Tonali would be brilliant for us, a strong runner in midfield who will match our intensity but also has quality on the ball.
  7. I said similar about the Chronicle but it seems to apply to most the NE coverage, they seem to focus on being negative about every fucking story and link. If we’d listened to them we’d never have Botman, Isak, etc and we’d have sold Bruno. It’s a story about a player who currently has no bids submitted for him, unless Scott Wilson is somehow getting the information from Maddison’s agent, or Maddison himself it’s nonsense, and I’ve no idea why either of them would want the press knowing where he was leaning anyway.
  8. Aye, totally agree it’s no good for us. Sad reality is they have goals, and plans other than just NUFC. Shame it helps Chelsea but I have faith that Boehly and his crew of jokers will fuck it up anyway.
  9. It’s not really how that headline tries to make it sound tbh. It’s a private equity firm that manages a bunch of assets for the PiF, they’ll also manage a lot on behalf of others, and the PiF will have a load of assets managed by other PE firms. They want to grow the Saudi league, Chelsea have a lot of big names they want rid of, and they clearly have worked with Clearlake and Boehly outside of those player deals so they see an opportunity that benefits both. The way some of the media is trying to make out that the PiF have some big investment in Chelsea, and are helping them get around FFP is a bit absurd iyam. Not that I expect any better from the media lot these days mind.
  10. The Chronicle should be ashamed of themselves posting absolute click bait shite like this, rather than trying to enjoy the good times with the fans they seem to be focusing heavily on negative articles. Bunch of second rate pricks.
  11. Clarke can’t even get selected for the U21 over Gordon who they all think is complete shite. But aye he’s nailed on to be an England regular.
  12. He’s shite for Chelsea and was shite at Brighton. Probably the most negative player in the premier league, terrified of risking the ball ever. Would be a huge rip off at £30m, one of the worst deals of all time Chelsea paying £60m for him. I think the link’s bollocks anyway tbh.
  13. Aye, not really any interest in players that have had the peak of their careers as they tend to lack the desire. Trippier was an exception due to his desire to be home.
  14. Nice to hear this is how the market is starting to perceive the club, and how we are operating.
  15. I’ve long thought these figures were FFP ones and not traditional “war chests”. As ewerk says the payment structure doesn’t matter for FFP, it’s simply the fee paid + contract amortized over the length of the player contract the timing of when cash is paid doesn’t factor in. I agree that it’s most likely FFP yearly amortization number though so £75m would get you a number of £40m players. The issue I have is none of these journalists frame it up that way, they act like it’s £75m in fees this window which is absurdly low.
  16. Backtracking. If it’s related to FFP there’s no such thing as “1st team budget”, and there’s no way the Saudis would only allow a budget of £75m .
  17. Aye, he’s doing exactly what many thought some of the group of ex players that always played the cunt would do post takeover. Fuck him.
  18. I wouldn’t take what Romano says as entirely accurate tbh.
