He's going for the throat with that line-up imo. Good to see as it shows he really values winning the league imo. It also shows how Rafa is comfortable with changing his thinking depending on the opposition, unlike basically all of our recent management.

Mbemba! Hopefully he has a good game as I think him and Clark could be a decent partnership next season (although I'd still like to see us buy a CB)

Another thing you didn't get, the years and years of the Mackems being a complete yo-yo side. The only downside is they escaped the fucking howkings some of the Robson and Keegan teams would have given them due to their position in the 2nd division. It's okay though they'll be doon for the next 10 year of your life at least.
-
It's also worth remembering money doesn't go a long way for the Mackems, they had to pay players ridiculous wages to attract them in the Premier League. Imagine the sort of shite they'll be struggling to attract next season. Stuff like this wont help attracting players: http://www.hitc.com/en-gb/2017/04/05/patrick-van-aanholt-explains-how-he-forced-through-crystal-palac/ Their fanbase also seems to be very occupied with the quality of the Championship " I think quality of the championship is exceptionally poor this season in terms of the games I've watched, Brighton don't look great shakes either" they're forgetting that their team is utter hopeless as well but also that while the teams are full of cloggers it doesn't make beating them a cakewalk "As bad as we are in the Prem we would still beat your lot like" Comments like this show how little many of them understand about football, this type of thinking has been evident from them all season that simply because their team happens to be part of the Premier division it is better. Ridiculous logic, I hope they carry it into next season as they'll be in for a hell of a shock. Just noticed a new trend from them: this season is the worst ever quality wise ever for the Championship. Interesting that the maggie bastards got that sort of luck.

You think? Aston Villa and Norwich spent more than that didn't they? Norwich had a far better squad than the mackems to start with as well. Take Defoe at that team (as he will be gone 100% despite some of their thoughts that he's Bradley's friend so he'll stay) and they'd be on about 8-11 points on track to be record breakers. Just had a look and Norwich didn't spend much, they had a far better squad though and were tipped for the title by basically every pundit because Neill knew the league better than Benitez .
-
Aye I thought the same but it is getting absurd now. They should really be looking at the Championship and seeing it as a chance to regroup and build a new side, maybe a 2-4 year project (I'm not even convinced of this with how badly they're run), but giving it the "well the mags are worse than us so we'll bounce back too" is just ridiculous and embarrassing. They're currently one of the worst sides the Premier League has ever seen, but they were happy to completely write us off when we missed survival by 1 point...
-
Why would any of us spend money to pay for a plane with a pathetic banner? Them getting relegated isn't an event for NUFC fans older than 18, I get that us going down is enough to make grown men on their side cry and hug their children but they're fucking losers. I expect this of them, since they last got promoted they've fought relegation every season bar about 2 of them (under Bruce and they fucking hated him because "he's a maggie cunt"). I'm hopeful that last season was the last time we'll encounter them in the league for a long long time, hopefully they fade into battlers in the Championship and below like Sheffield United etc.
-
That Sunderland team is complete and utter fucking shite. There are a considerable amount on their forum that think they'll be up first time of asking, there's no way like. Take Defoe out of that side and they have no threat at all, they're pathetic going forward. Both their centre backs were 8 yards away from Vardy when the ball come to him for his goal and he was the only Leicester player near them.
-
Kone's 'defending' there man  He is complete and utter toss. They'll end up getting nowt for him when he walks at the end of however long they gave him on his contract.
-
Nice of Birmingham to open up and actually attack them, after sitting in their box for the two league games against us .
-
Just when you think the opposition players couldn't try any less the mackem players show a new found resolve to perform even worse.

Just checked, because I'm bored and I guess I'm morphing into Fish. League games won by 3+ goal margin: 2015/16 = 3 (including the Spurs win by Rafa) 2014/15 = 1 2013/14 = 4 2012/13 = 1 So taking out the PNE cup game it's been 5 in the league this season. We're areet man. Went to the 2011/12 season (season we finished 5th) and we got 2 wins by 3+ goals in the league (Stoke and Man Utd), we lost 4 by the same 3+ margin (Wigan, Fulham, Chelsea, and Spurs) #TheKing.

Great minds and all that, although HMHM or someone will likely be along in a minute to have a pop.

Aye was going to say we've dished out a lot of kickings this season compared to the prior 5 years or so. We also wiped the floor with Spurs 5-1 at the end of last season.

I think we'll win the league, we'll have a few games where everything clicks and that'll be enough imo. Brighton will come 2nd, there's a chance they might nick us since it's still so close but I think that's the top 2. I think Leeds will come up through the play-offs, Huddersfield are hitting a rough patch at a bad time and I just think the battling style of Leeds will fare better in the knockout bit.

It's a shame Clark is missing again as I think he's clearly shown he is our most capable CB this season. If Anita can put in a performance anywhere close to what he did at the weekend that will mitigate Yedlin being gone as he actually played the ball forward and found Ritchie in some good positions. I went for 3-0 to our lot, no reason why it's just hope more than anything and I agree with StoneCold that our lot are due a game where everything clicks.

I think you lot are forgetting about a very important stipulation the mackems come up with at the end of last season. Once we get promoted all of our squad are PREMIER LEAGUE PLAYERS, therefore all automatically too good for SAFC as they will be in the "lower leagues". So I'm afraid everyone will be above them, yes, even Jack Raymond Colback.
-
 Why would someone even think they'd be able to manage that? "Aye I wouldn't be against a 22 goal striker in the league we're about to be in coming here" of course you wouldn't, if anyone was they'd be insane, but there's no chance whatsoever of something like that happening. Gayle also isn't just Championship standard imo, he was regularly the top scorer at Crystal Palace even when he was getting infrequent starts, he's a bottom half of the PL striker at the least.
-
Cheers, just watched that. Agree with what AH was saying about the match above. The referee was once again an inept twat, I've no idea what he was watching half the time there was a slide tackle on Shelvey outside the box in the first half where the bloke didn't even come close to the ball and the ref just allowed Wigan to play on. I thought that was the best little Vurn has played for us in yonks, he finally looked to come forward (into useful positions) and pass the ball forward, he played a pass through the defenders legs into the box to Ritchie that had us in a really good position 2nd half that was quality. If he would put in that type of performance more often I'd not moan about him anywhere near as much as I twist on about him now. The Lascelles and Colback string of errors that led to their goal was comical and I think it's something to look at as a positive that such a high percentage of the goals we concede are down to ridiculous individual errors from players who shouldn't be starters next season.

Moussa Sissoko signs for Spurs for like £30m or WatEVA
Howay replied to Park Life's topic in Newcastle Forum
Aye was going to say at least Carroll is a football player rather than whatever the fuck Sissoko is. Both cracking deals mind. Hopefully Ashley lets Rafa spend the Sissoko money in the summer or Leazes will be fuming.- 1745 replies
