Looking at the England U21 squad and it’s really surprising there’s no Sunderland players in there, given we’re constantly told how immense their players are I’d have thought Clarke or that goalkeeper they bang on about would get a call up? It’s almost as if they overrate the fuck out of them.

He scored more goals last season than ASM has managed in his entire NUFC career. It seems a bit steep to me but the market is hard to gauge so maybe he is. Maddison only had 12 months left on his contract too iirc.

What a weird way to go on about one of our players… Think the run of games and confidence will help him going into next season rather than be a possible detriment like The Fish mentioned. He didn’t start loads and had a bit of a brutal start to the season with the way Everton fans targeted him. Look forward to seeing what he can do next season, I like his directness and pace along with how he fits into the press so hopefully he fits in with our lot and proves to be a useful squad member.

I rate Barnes tbf, left wing is less of a priority than right wing for us but I think he’s class. Good rate of goals and assists from him the last 4 seasons. Steep price mind. Saying all that these links rarely amount to anything.

Fucking hell they really are desperate cunts. The funniest part is that by doing this they’re clearly stating that places that anyone would classify as Geordie or part of the Newcastle area are miles better.

I didn’t say he found his level at Leeds, I just see him as a bottom half-mid table average CM. Can’t say I’m impressed he was the best player for a very poor Leeds side Todd Cantwell was for Norwich not long ago, it’s also very debatable to say he was Leeds best since Harrison directly contributed in 25% of their PL goals, we’re in the CL and getting average midfield runners like him doesn’t improve us. I also don’t get where people are getting that he’d be cheap he cost them £20m last summer and is one year into a 5 year deal, that money would be far better spend elsewhere.

I don’t see the point in bringing a painfully average bottom half PL player in, especially since he’s on a decent wage and we’d have to pay a fee. We need to be clearing out the ones we have of that level not bringing more in.

I’d sell Almiron in a heartbeat, he’s so poor technically on the ball and his finishing is fucking abhorrent. He scored 9 goals up to xmas and then 2 in the 18 games after that, his poor finishing made it far harder to close out the season. He’s fine as a rotation option but he’s the main position we need to improve this summer imo, the moment teams started showing respect and sitting deeper he was completely ineffective.

It’s one’s like this that make me laugh . 2 year ago we struggled and failed to get Hamza Choudry on loan and now whinging we didn’t buy Tonali and Szoboszlai, fucking hell man we have no idea if we were even actually in for Szoboszlai same as we all had no fucking clue there was any possibility of signing Tonali. We clearly need more players but I feel some of our fans haven’t grasped just how massive a signing Sandro Tonali is for us, he was an integral part of a Scudetto winning side and people complain because we aren’t signing a Hungarian they’d only started hearing about this season. FWIW I’m disappointed as I was excited at the possibilities of both Maddison and Szoboszlai playing for us, but that’s what’s fucking class about all this we’re linked to these types of players and it’s possible, I’m confident we will sign what we need.

Aye I don’t think Leipzig would want to sell, they’ve sold Nkuku and likely Gvardiol this window which nets them a huge sum. Think it’ll be a case of a team either paying the €70m up front in full or he stays there.

This one is a weird one as I thought Milan were at their non-EU player limit once they signed Loftus-Cheek. The Chelsea situation is weird, this all no doubt helps balance the books but their team is looking pretty weak in parts especially with Kante and Kovacic leaving CM. Hope this striker they’re signing is a flop and things go from bad to worse at that wretched fucking club.
