Generic small time football blather thread 2015/16
Howay replied to The Fish's topic in Newcastle Forum
Aye that's very true. -
Aye, howay Rayvin this is like having someone from Liverpool reffing a Man Utd game where Man Utd or Liverpool both have a shot at getting 4th place, whether that ref is a Liverpool or Everton fan is irrelevant as they'd likely show bias one way or another due to their support. This imo is a direct conflict of interest, the Lansbury thing you mentioned would be more of an indirect one and I'd imagine like Fish said that ref's are keeping a closer eye on him due to his theatrics against us anyway. I don't see how this is seen as any different as a ref like Clattenburg not being allowed to ref Sunderland matches, the temptation to help one side over the other is perhaps even greater in this instance.

It was a massive deal man, HMHM got flak from his mates and we all wasted precious time discussing a completely fabricated matter. That is simply unacceptable. -
Agree with what Fish said, even if he isn't meaning it he's naturally going to favour Preston. It is a complete fucking disgrace tbh and is very easily avoidable.

Hopefully Hudds lose so that the inevitable ref jips NUFC out of 3 points part 5 doesn't effect it. How that fuck is that allowed btw? If I got the chance to ref their game they'd end with 8 men on the pitch and will have conceded 4 pens.

Top bloke tbh. He's done a cracking job there, seems to be good at creating a good team atmosphere, at least he did that here and Brighton anyway.

Agreed, they definitely are "massive" on the people hating them list. That's down to their team being a bunch of dirty, hacking arseholes with a matching fan base rather than hating them for being good so I'm not sure why they're so prideful about that. -

Yeah it was more of a decent spell than proper history. Mind with a proper fanbase of about 6 blokes they did okay. Last time I was in t'Leeds the vast majority of them only give a fuck about the Rhinos and barely knew any of the LUFC side bar Beckford. -

I know footy wasn't just made recently but it's always hard to claim that you're a massive club when there are players in the PL who were proper bairns the last time Leeds were in the PL, let alone any good. Good history of course but they've been a trampy irrelevance for well over a decade now. -

Aye that's a good point about how rarely they've all played together, I've no idea but even if it was it couldn't have been for a full game (maybe when Gayle limped off? Although I think Hayden was missing then). Clark has been a massive miss at the back the last few games, it's clear he does a lot of the communication back there as last match no one was being picked up in the box at all. We've barely seen Gayle since January and all you have to do is look at the top scorer list and see that he is still right up there despite being on the pitch for less than half the time of those above him to underline his impact. That's it in all, it's easy to worry about Hudds but as you say they've hoyed ample opportunities to properly close the gap away. Fulham is an extremely tough game for them imo, suppose it gives me a match to properly watch over the weekend since we don't play until Monday. I've never mentioned it on here either but I'm chuffed for Hughton, he's done a cracking job. I thought they would drop off over xmas with the volume of games but I suppose I overlooked the fact their squad are all good Championship players who are used to this sort of volume and they've done really well.

:lol:That's class, my reaction wasn't far off when my dad texted this morning to tell me I'd be arriving 2 weeks before the GE tbf.
-
Disheveled "man of the people" worked over here. But aye the bloke needs to tidy himself up a bit ffs.
-
Closer to the truth aye, maybe if I'm lucky by the time I get back they'll be starting the stuff going for the senatorial or congressman ones that are coming up in 18 month or so. This is my life now I guess.

I hate Leeds like. -
We've missed some really key players for significant lengths of time tbf. That's a massive part of it really, along with the ones replacing them being fairly shambolic (I'm looking at Raymond in particular). A 6 point gap is also a big gap, the nervousness is coming from our recent spell of bad form, if we were going into these games with any sort of form I doubt anyone would be nervous about getting a couple of wins from the remaining games.

This has me creased every time. I'm actually going to be in the U.K. for this one and for a while before it because I guess I didn't hit my election bollocks quota in the last 12 month with the shit show over here. At least it's a lot less faff on back home.
-
Had a feeling that would be me like, I've just been putting 3-0 for the vast majority of games. It was working ok before Jan/Feb.
-
To be fair Yedlin had a total fucking nightmare against Ipswich.

Fingers crossed for this like, Fulham are a good side tbf and as you say Huddersfield have been just as poor after their winning streak as we've been recently (Leeds aside). Fulham getting into the play off spots was brilliant for us.

Newcastle United to pick up 3 points away at Ipswich tomorrow. 15:00.
Howay replied to Andrew's topic in Newcastle Forum
Aye I mean that is a positive but the thing about the Leeds game was while the result was nowt to be happy about we really looked good so it made you feel like we'd comfortably pick up the points needed, after today we were so poor it looks as if we'll be depending on Hudds and Reading to whiff a couple of games. It'll likely be a mix of both, we'll probably manage at least a win and a draw out the remaining 3 which should see us up. Not an ideal way to end the season but hopefully it highlights that we really need recruits.- 336 replies

Aye If Fulham didn't have as many injuries/inconsistent play over xmas they'd be a real problem for us. I think they'll beat Huddersfield, especially if we win against Preston as I think the Hudds team would be a bit mopey. All made up shite but it'll keep me going for a week thinking that.- 336 replies

Just go over the top confidence wise and convince yourself we're up. I'm trying to do that by bigging up Fulham.
-
Aye. Reading are 6 points behind on the same games played, so 3 points from us and they can't catch us (their GD is 35 worse off than ours so no danger of them matching that). Could you imagine if we got pipped by Reading though? Spent months discussing Huddersfield then out of nowhere Reading overtake us. To be fair if we lose the last 3 we absolutely deserve to be stuck in this league.
