  1. Aye my mate didn't say that Gayle had mentioned Rafa saying owt about looking for another club, he just (apparently) said that he sees himself as a Championship player and is more just keeping a look out but that he loved this season and would love to stay. I agree he'd surely get PL clubs interested, either way I doubt he's going anywhere. I just meant it more as it gives a hint that even the players seem to feel this squad was for the Championship and that Rafa is likely eyeing a somewhat fairly large overhaul over the next 2-3 windows.
  2. I actually feel bad for that Spicer bloke, he's been put in a position that he absolutely should not be in and the haphazard way that Trump flip flops on issues leaves him with his pants round his ankles nearly every time he meets with the press. I bet when Comey was fired Spicer was envious.
  3. Couples retreat except they all get sliced up by an Alien rather than have a 'hilarious' yoga scene isn't it. I look forward to it. I'm a fan of that Chris Pratt as I watched Parks and Rec from the start and Star Lord is a lot like Andy Dwyer, I think that's why I enjoyed the first one so much, it also impressed me how good that WWE wrestler Batista was in it, I know he was playing a character who is fairly awkward anyway but the writing did a good job.
  4. He's fucking shocking like, I remember being on a plane and I put on one of the Fast and Furious films, think it was Fast and the Furious 37 but within about four minutes I couldn't hack watching him as he'd started with "nah, we family" or some utter bollocks as a 8 stone woman flipped what looked like a 20+ stone bloke with ease, what a heap. I'm looking forward to seeing Guardians 2 tbh, I enjoyed the first one so it's good to see everyone on here giving this one positive reviews. Alien Convenant looks good in all imo, I love the Alien movies and actually enjoyed prometheus, caesarian section scene aside plus it's got Kenny Powers in it.
  5. One of them was Hanley, but it was actually Gayle who my mate said was saying that. I'm not as down on Gayle as some people (and I guess himself if my mate is to be believed) as I think if we have the creativity around him he could hit double figures in the PL, the thing that worries me about him is the amount of games he missed.
  6. Good post HF. The risk in January was something I found particularly worrying, Rafa likely wanted one team to get promoted and another for the Prem. A few of my mates saw a few of the players out on Sunday night and he was saying a few of them were basically saying they're looking for Championship clubs. Maybe that's what put Ashley off spending, thinking he could hold off in January and still see the club promoted, while it worked it's something that has the potential to see Rafa walk which would have us back to Charnley pulling out his Panini sticker book from 1988 to see if any of those players are now shit English managers and giving them a ring. They also saw Danny Graham in FYEO btw hours after Blackburn were relegated.
  7. The Mail is linking us to Fernando and Mangala from City This is the sort of rumour we've been missing! http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-4493652/Rafa-Benitez-ploting-double-swoop-Manchester-City-duo.html
  8. Actions speak louder than words but it's still nice to hear positive statements like that.
  9. I love that we're back in the ridiculous rumour mill, the Championship was shite for that.
  10. I don't think there's any chance of Dummett leaving, I agree with DK though we've all seen him at the PL level and despite playing weaker opposition it's not like he's been brilliant he's just been canny defensively. He still can't pass the ball or contribute much offensively, in fact there were many games where any time he won the ball he almost immediately gave it right back to the opposition, it's things like that which would be punished far more at the higher standard of the PL. I'm not against him staying though as he's fine backup, he's better than Haidara and I assume Lazaar (since he never really played), but if he was our starter going into the season it'd be a worry. Defence and creativity are the two areas we really need to improve imo and replacing Dummett with a better standard of LB would potentially help both issues.
  11. Agree with this, his passing and shooting is fantastic and City can still use it as they have ample quality players that will work hard around him while being able to handle most teams and meaning he doesn't have to graft massively. In a side like ours he'd have to work a lot more on the defensive side and as Ewerk says that's not the likely outcome in that sort of situation. Regardless there's absolutely no fucking way our lot would pay his wages, let alone him wanting to actually come, he could comfortably see out his career as a bench/sometime starter at a CL level club, or end up somewhere like China or the USA.
  12. Aye it's a class show. Mac's bike on the recent stuff btw.
  13. He's not going anywhere tbh. He'd need to get an offer of well over two hundred million or so, despite being back in the PL, being stable financially, and having a class manager in charge already I don't see that happening.
  14. The mackems have absolutely no qualms about being contradictory as fuck mind, their forum is packed full of them going "cannit wait to be winnin every weyk like marras" or how they're going to get a load of money in and turn the squad around, I think Gollum's big announcement shit on their cheesy chips though but they're still giving it the big one "we'll piss that league, Kharzi, Borini, Kone, Pickford will be the best in the league ffs" "Love and McNair will look like Maldini and Nesta". They're in for a shock tbh, they still think there's a massive drop in quality between them and the Championship. There's a big drop in class between mid-table PL and the Championship sides but the PL fodder are Championship sides really, Villa and Norwich have shown that this season and we would have if it wasn't for the fact we had a top manager in charge and a healthy budget to improve the squad. ILDC, I'd forgotten all about that little fucking dweeb, I hope he's fucking gutted the skretty cunt.
  15. It's fucking brilliant isn't it? Made all the better that their expectations were so high "Big Sam will have us comfortable mid table marra FTM", before the cunt walked out on them, was promptly sacked for being the cunt he is and big eyes walked in and spunked their money on a bloke called Donald Love . I'll also add that it's fucking poetic that Burton survived this season after the mackems craic of "enjoy playing at the Pirelli" .
  16. Nah me either, in fact I'm chuffed. I don't wish for their club to go away completely but for it to be fucked enough that they become League one/Championship fodder for the next few decades will be good enough for me. The way they carried on when we went down they fully deserve this, all that "they're beneath us now marra, the lower leagues don't matter, I won't even check that league online let alone watch any of it" patter fucking reeked, especially as they knew the make up of our rivals squads better than many of us a month in. As Quiff says I wont be watching but I'll definitely enjoy seeing the scorelines of their nightmare 2017/18 season, scrapping with Forest for 21st hopefully.
  17. I'm having a good laugh at some of the bitter fans having a pop at us. The cries of "yeah amazing achievement, spent 50m, a true underdog story" "they were always favorites, it's just laughable they had to have it gifted to them" etc are hilarious reading, from what I remember all the top "experts" were claiming Norwich were the favorites as Neill had experience of the league and had a good squad, Villa were often mentioned as Di Matteo could turn them round and they'd spent a fortune . If Chelsea win the PL this season people wont be moaning about how much they spent, it's just part of the game now. Brighton fans can whinge about our spending but they're about to enter a league where there's at least 10 teams that wouldn't even wince when dropping similar amounts on players. This is almost as good as the enjoyment of winning the league tbh, denying all these small minded lid lickers the satisfaction of shite like "Mags come 2nd in a 1 horse race", there was actually a thread with that title on SMB btw .
  18. It's good to see mind, it doesn't mean something can't go wrong but it leans to the side of there being no division at present. Maybe I'm just being hopeful mind.
  19. That's the key imo, we need some creativity coming from the LW and that behind the striker position. I agree with Quiff that adding a striker would be good, I like Gayle and don't particularly worry about him in the PL as I think if we can create more he's a decent enough finisher that he'd put the chances away but he missed a fair amount of games this season.
  20. That's adding an empty space on the squad list tbh, massive improvement.
  21. Aye we're not going to see anything as drastic as 10-14 players leaving out of the first team squad. As shite as some of them are I think that level of change can be detrimental. We also need back ups and people who can just be willing runners late in games. I absolutely want Colback gone mind as the amount of fouls he racks up as well as the fact they're often in dangerous locations makes him a massive fucking detriment to the side.
  22. The final three matches by our lot impressed me, they looked really wobbly trying to get over the final line of promotion until the Preston match and once that was confirmed they've kept the pressure on Brighton really well and it's paid off massively. I thought Villa away would be tough for them, I knew the Villa fans would have probably preferred us to miss out on the title but I thought their players will have wanted a result as they've been a lot better under Bruce and will want to try and end on a high-ish note going into next season. Looking forward to the transfer window rumour mill starting up now, thrilled we've won the title as I said before, it clearly meant a lot for Rafa, his staff, and the players. It's a nice boost going into the window, and hopefully gives Rafa a bit more ammunition in his discussions with Jabba.
  23. Get in man, I've said all season I've wanted us to win the league and I'm fucking chuffed. Fully deserved, points tally would have had us champions in like 6 of the last 7 seasons or something, +45 goal difference is absurd all while seeing some diabolical performances from referees. Gives the players a big boost of confidence and momentum going into next season as well.
  24. Get the fuck in. Chuffed to have went up as champions! Fully deserved for Rafa and the lads, we've been fucked about by refs all season while our rivals have been getting gift after gift from them. Brilliant.
