Everton definitely have those fans, they’re scouse mackems. I agree though, they will always compare themselves to us. It showed massively last season as despite the “I won’t watch the lower leagues” craic many of them on RTG were clearly hunting for streams of our matches, I make no bones about it I’d watch a game or two of theirs to have a laugh but I won’t go out of my way looking for streams nor will I watch more than 3 of their games this season (I’ve watched 0 as of now).

If they honestly think shite like that now it’s clear those people know nothing about football. That post the Fish screenshotted and put up before is hilarious btw. That’s another reason this season has been so fucking brilliant, they spent the whole of last season arguing that their squad was far better than ours as they’re in the PL. That’s been thoroughly debunked after less than 10 games each, and if they still think their squad is better then Rafa Benitez is the best in the world, they can’t have that shit argument both ways. We can mind, our squad is far better, and as Tom pointed out it’s insulting to Benitez to be mentioned in the same sentence as their manager let alone compared to him.

I think the overwhelming negativity surrounding the club is what makes me think they’re likely on their way down. Teams like Burton are poor in quality but they have a spirit, Birmingham just sacked their manager iirc so could see an uptick and neither of those things are something SAFC are in a position to do. The lack of quality throughout the squad is an issue, but like Fish said many have that issue, but it’s the absolutely rotten attitude inside and out of the club that will do them in. I also agree with the others that think this is fully deserved after the acceptance and support the club and fan base gave to a nonce.

A Sunderland loss, another goalless Palace loss, all we need is a win the morra and it’s been yet another cracking weekend of football. Man City look pretty frightening mind, not looking forward to our lot playing them. For what it’s worth that Loftus-Cheek lad looks a real player, stood head and shoulders above the shite Palace had out on the pitch.

Aye, personally I’d be happy if they ended up as a League One/League Two side and we could completely forget about them. I used to enjoy derbies but at some point (even before Pardew opened the gates to us losing to them) they became pretty unbearable and as you say, generally, were dreadful games. Agree with Renton as well, not sure why you two think it’d only be a points docking that would relegate them. They’ve played a good sampling of the sort of teams the league has to offer so far and have looked second best in basically all of them, as Renton said their home form is an utter disaster, and the squad has a losing mentality. I’m not saying it’s certain but I also see no reason to doubt them as being among the favorites for the drop.

See a bloke that’s named after that bit between your sack and arsehole scored a pen for them. Aaaaaand they’re losing again.

He’s probably basing the worth off the present value of future earnings if we stay in the PL, along with hoying in his purchase price + loan. I think all that considered it’s not entirely unreasonable but it’s hard to tell since a PL clubs hasn’t been bought in a while, I guess you could look at the Everton partial sale and expand that to 100% to see a price?

This fight back has come from nowhere
-
Aye they’re fucking dross, our lot put up far more of a fight against Spurs.
-
Aye, really odd if that's the case. Would be heading towards the ridiculous decision to register Darlow, then loan him out which meant we couldn't get an emergency loan keeper after Elliott and Krul got injured.

What the fuck. I notice Colback in it a few times, maybe that's what set Rafa against him.
-
Aye his superpower is basically always looking completely out of his depth. I genuinely have no idea how anyone in the sport would watch him and think "aye that's what we need in our side". I'm not even trying to be nasty about him here I just have no idea what he brings to a team, I thought he'd show something in the Championship but I don't even think that's his level.
-
Aye he's being ridiculous. He's bringing it on himself as everyone is saying, he was given fair notice that he wasn't going to be in the team and the club were clearly willing to sell him for next to nowt (personally don't understand why you'd pay for a player of his level, I still refuse to believe random lads in the youth set up couldn't have managed the level he showed last season).
-
Aye, it's always a worry but the professionalism and maturity of lads like Hayden, Lascelles, and Merino gives me hope that they can avoid that sort of issue. They done a good job at dispatching a lot of the shite last season so hopefully they help hammer another nail in Palaces coffin.
-
I hope they've got 0 points and 0 goals by the time we play them. There's always the worry that we'd do our typical and lose to the wankest team in the league, but I think the way we set up will be a nightmare for them as they'll come flying forward out of desperation and Rafa will have our lot set up to just be patient.
-
Aye, I think a lot of them took a lot of confidence from getting the job done under heavy pressure last season as well. I think Lascelles, for example, has looked far better in the PL than he did last season in the championship, part of it is likely because he's not carrying an injury like he supposedly was for a lot of last year but I think a good amount is down to his experience from last season.
-
Aye, it was fairly clear from the off that any chance they had would come through him. Sort of player you'd love on your team but fucking hate him when he's against your lot.
-
Was just about to say the same about Allen, part of it was obviously because he was getting bossed by a 21 year old lad but he's also a total bellend. Aye that Shaqiri dive was absurd the commentator on mine was full of excuses for him "ooo yeah it's a painful one, he clipped his achillies clearly and he reacted a step later as that's when he felt it" erm nah pal the fat gnome took about 4 steps before hoying himself over. Its fantastic to see all these sides that were supposed to easily brush us off spend half their time trying to have our players sent off (see Shaqiri on Clark) and diving about as the frustration at being unable to break us down sets in.
-
The mackems seem to hate Matt Ritchie for some reason and constantly talk about how he's shit at this level, or below average at this level. It seems a really odd argument to make when you consider he's got 4 assists already, only Mkhitaryan has more so far this season.
-
Aye, I remember looking at these 3 games hoping for 1 win out of them. Really impressive how capable he's got this squad looking.
-
We looked pretty strong throughout, good win and well deserved imo. Another class day, good win for us and the mackems suffered a late equalizer from David Meyler.
-
Best performance by Perez in a while imo.
-
Aye seeing that gnome go flailing was worth it.
