  1. I have a relative that’s a scout at the club, so I don’t need to have heard direct from Eddie. So shut your pipe you fucking idiot.
  2. Twitter, I’d updated that post to mention. Not meaning anyone on here besides LTA
  3. Spot on, we’ve already seen on here how ASM fan boys go after Gordon as they see him as some threat to their idol. Plus on Twitter the negativity towards Barnes is fucking rampant by ASM profile pics, thankfully it doesn’t seem to have put Barnes off.
  4. It’s an easy thing to say, on the flip side behind the scenes he’s clearly fine with selling him given he works very closely with Ashworth to the point where generally it’s only him, Ashworth, and Nickson in meetings making decisions on players. Not sure why you think he’s going to be so devastated to lose ASM tbh, the reality is he may have kept him as a squad player but he’s able to get a few players he really wants in exchange for losing him and is answering the question posed to him in a nice way that appeases the idiots among our support that overhype a painfully average player and plays into the players ego in case the sale doesn’t go through.
  5. I think that’s reading a bit into it. ASM is a popular player among fans so Howe is just trying to be pleasant, it’s not like Howe used him like an integral player throughout his management of us which is more telling to me than him being positive in response to a question
  6. Like Gemmill mentions he’s bound to be positive about him, he’s not going to come out and say he doesn’t fit my tactics etc. Howe will have a say in incomings and outgoings, it will have been run by him.
  7. Andrew is probably meaning Twitter and other areas, a lot of fans are so over the top about a player who puts out extremely average numbers in terms of actual impactful output. His dribbling is obviously very good which catches the eye but his goals and assists numbers are poor, I think 10 combined is his best season for us. The level of discussion about him far outweighs his actual contribution to the team, which is why I agree with Andrew’s post. For example he is often credited with keeping us up over the Bruce years, the reality is it was Willock, Wilson, and arguably Shelvey when you look at the goals, assists and the games they come in, he was no doubt the most exciting player but as others said that was a time we had no plan and his mazy runs that went nowhere had potential, now they’re just fucking frustrating because we have an actual approach to creating and scoring goals and many of those runs to nowhere just turn the ball over. I’ll remember him fondly as he really was the player that caught your eye for a few years but it’s time for him and the club to move on. We could basically go out and get Barnes, Goretzka, and Livramento for the fee under FFP.
  8. Aye was going to say FFP works that way, it’s why Grealish being sold for £100m has allowed Villa to spend massively the last few years. We’d have the full £40m or so gain, and Barnes impact would be £40m divided by 6 so about £6.5m for the year and then the difference between wages of the two players. So it would free up a load of spending power.
  9. Having a mooch about Gods little acre. Surely popped into Di Meos for their scran.
  10. I’d be more against it if I didn’t believe that FFP was a total heap of fucking bullshit that was designed purely to keep the established elite in place. When you look at how little we get from the CL compared to others and the minor punishments Manchester United and teams like that receive for breaking FFP it just shows how nonsensical the whole thing is. FWIW I think multi club ownership is one of the biggest threats to fairness, but kind of how KD mentions other clubs do it, while not directly funding a purchase of a top player they’re strengthening - the fee paid for Sesko was a joke for example, the Harrison and Mooy deals both of which were sold on for huge profits. Brighton and Villa have both been called out by UEFA, Arsenal and clubs like it historically used their status and sometimes minor ownership to funnel African prospects into their club using that ability to get around visa requirements. Watfords owners have had great success (comparatively) pushing players from Udinese to Watford which allowed them to get into the PL. My preference would be that you flat out can’t own multiple clubs, but similarly to FFP it’s suited the elite so until they get rid of it fuck them. I also don’t think ASM going there for £40m is ridiculous, no more so than other deals (Neves got similar) it’s not like they’re planning to buy Hendricks for £100m or something.
  11. Now it makes sense looking back that spitfire nonce that come on here was such a fucking weirdo.
  12. Do you know how reliable Plettenberg is? I see he’s Sky Sports Germany so I’d be a little surprised if he was really unreliable.
  13. People are saying Barnes number from last season has been given to another player as well.
  14. And this was the squad for the game
  15. He got a load of people with his Chiesa post yesterday too. Big Frank Chippa will always be above all others for this mind
  16. They’ll act the same way Liverpool fans are and start defending it as “well anyone would do it, massive pay increase for the same job” despite going mental about Eddie Howe for 2 years.
  17. Horrible to hear, really explains why his career and performances dropped off a cliff when Jose joined Spurs. Not a dig at Jose but he’s not the right type of manager to manage someone with that history, likely why he responded better to the arm round the shoulder type manager in Pochettino rather than the stick type manager Jose is. Heartbreaking to hear, hope the bloke can get himself to some type of help. Being comfortable enough to be this open about it is likely a good sign at least?
  18. “We” Edwards is the biggest wind up merchant going. He’s the same one that constantly attacks fans for being impatient, he likely will a week after this story. I get fans being impatient but his article is nonsensical, when you look at others around us we’re not really an outlier: Liverpool- brought in MacAllister & Szoboszlai probably the most advanced in the market so far. Brighton - lost Colwill & Macallister, brought in Joao Pedro, Dahoud, Milner and a keeper, under pressure of losing Caicedo Arsenal - Havertz in, Rice pending Man City - lost Gundogan, brought in Kovacic Villa- brought Pau Torres, Tielemans and a couple loans in Man U - Mount in Spurs - Maddison, Porro, and Solomon in, (didn’t count Kulu since he was already there) under pressure of losing Kane Newcastle - Tonali in, Barnes seemingly close. We have more weak points in the squad than a few of the teams listed but we still have around 2 months. I just think it’s an overly negative article and further underlines how little info he’s actually getting.
  19. They’re scum. I expect no less of them. A town full of fucking rats. Rivalry and jokes aside they’re simply scum.
