Aye, I’ve no idea how he hacks it on there. They’re trying to make a massive deal of the Lascelles incident and acting like the FA should bury us for the tax thing, meanwhile their club is beyond a mess to the point that the captain scrapping with a player he was accusing of being lazy would be a massive positive and their club knowingly let a paedo play with no FA repercussion. But aye they definitely have the high ground because Ashley is accused of dodging some taxes ffs. They’re a complete bunch of nobs man.

Good on Jamaal, like him even more now. Seems Diame is at least consistent with the way he trains to how he plays on the pitch the waste of fucking space.

Aye he has really stepped up to the PL. no doubt the injury was a big factor in his dip at the end of last season but I think he’s really coming on under Rafa, hopefully it continues as he’s still really young.

Charnley can’t even handle sacking Steve McClaren during a disasterous run that made it easy as fuck to sack him. I’ve no doubt Ashley will have him heading up the negotiation team for this possible £400m transaction.
-
Aye, there’s also not a whole lot of uptick possible at Spurs. You’d be buying a club that is already close to the top, with a lot of commercial exposure already. A club like NUFC has a lot more room to grow and at 400m or so would be a lot cheaper than Spurs who would likely cost more than double that. I understand the points you’re making Rayvin but it’s similar to questioning why Mansour bought Man City who were a total fucking shambles at the time compared to people further up the table who were more stable etc. Everton would cost a lot more than us as well, and they look shite tbh (that club is also trampy as fuck and if this Staveley is a Liverpool supporter I doubt she’d push to see heavy investment funnel into EFC). I definitely agree that we simply don’t have that luck, I’ll beleive it when Messi is wearing a toon top tbh.

Generic small time football blather thread FOREVER

They also keep banging on about the pressure that England players have on them, but does anyone actually put pressure on them apart from some papers? They were fucking shite at the last World Cup as AH mentioned, it was as if they weren’t even arsed. The funny thing is England have a canny crop of talent at the minute, not saying it’s good enough to win a tournament but definitely enough to play some good footy and do okay. They take that talent and hand it to managers like Southgate and Hodgson for fuck sake, it’s unbelievable. We could at least be enjoying the games, instead I’m the same as all you lot mentioned the first I knew about England playing was seeing people moaning about how shite England are on Facebook. -
I can’t see how it’d be anything to put off a serious bidder, if the club got hit with a tax bill for the money HRMC is accusing them of dodging I’m sure they’d either take the hit or knock it off the purchase price. It’s also worth noting that the supposed bidders became interested after the news about this tax issue broke.

Aye that was really impressive especially when you consider that Salah is rapid too. Yedlin is definitely improving under Rafa.

I’m not sure there will ever be a tragedy that would shake the NRA enough to cede ground. They are one of the most active lobbying groups in the United States (I think they’re also one of the largest, the AARP (aka old people) pip them in the membership stakes though), and they won’t give any ground on the issue of gun control as they think any action against firearms (no matter how minor) is the first step towards taking them away completely. They are unfortunately too organized, powerful, and active to allow anything to happen. They regularly use their resources to fight even the most minor of things when guns are involved. I genuinely don’t see it ever changing, it’s something that massively puts me off ever moving to a large number of states.

Aye, utterly crackers that civilians have access to this type of fire power. He was armed with military grade rounds too they’re saying (5.56 and/or .223 the bloke on the news was saying).
-
Him whinging on about the train btw the absolute strop he’s throwing over it. Most people would get angry, perhaps even tweet about it, but this bloke is actually tweeting about specific people and arguing with the train companies twitter.
-
I was more meaning he doesn’t have the Liverpool connection like that Amanda does to give another reason for him being there. If it’s in reference to him being a total bell whiff, then aye completely agree he’d only be a middle man.
-
A 65 year old bloke called Stephen was the shooter apparently. Automatic assault rifle ffs. No doubt he got it from one of those gun shows that require basically no checks as Vegas has loads of them.
-
He’s a West Ham fan according to his twitter. We surely can’t be this lucky to get rid of Ashley, it was starting to feel he’d be at the club for another 20 year.
-
This is fucking awful. Wish I could say I was in any way shocked. This will go down the ordinary route “how dare you politicize this” the only exception being they can’t use the old “if people in the area were armed” excuse. This country needs to wake up to this glaring issue, regular people should not have access to military grade fire arms ffs. This was a bloke just firing off rounds from the 32nd floor with a degree of precision, why would you ever need that firearm? To defend yourself from bears? Aye sure.
-
Also worth mentioning Lascelles has another good game, he seems to be more comfortable in the PL than he did in the Championship.
-
Aye agreed if Caulkin wasn’t the one pushing the story I’d have completely written it off. As it stands I’m very much in Gloom’s camp of “we wouldn’t be that lucky surely”. While any ownership change is a risk I think we’ve all had it to the back teeth with Ashley and his brand of bollocks.
-
Aye.
-
Be interesting to see how Greizmann, Messi, and co fit into our side. Hope we remain disciplined.
-
Aye, good thing the BBC already wrote up a long article about how every one will be chuffed with them going up this year.
-
Good result that, we looked very disciplined and held Liverpool off well. Pity we didn’t snatch it at the end, but I’m still happy with that one.
-
Klopp looks like he’s been on cowies
-
That slow motion replay of the foul there, Perez stumbling in the background what was he even stumbling on ffs, it’s perfectly flat grass it must be a nightmare for him when he has to walk on paths.
-
Only downside is we’ll have to wait for the January window to sign Messi.
-
He has spent the game slipping over. Needs to put some studs in his boots or something.
