  1. Aye, it’s not a great run but I’m not scared of it like I would be when managed by Pards or McClaren. Man Utd without Pogba are a lot more reserved and may struggle to break us down. As DK said the only real hiding I could potentially see is Man City but even then it’s not going to be like the humiliations we have had in recent years.
  2. Aye, as much as I’m not bothered (although it would have been a nice boost for Lascelles) it’s fucking absurd that a bloke that has been in a defence the press have been rightly ripping to bits is called up over Lascelles.
  3. http://www.echo-news.co.uk/sport/15634215.Shrimpers_boss_Brown__Sunderland_manager_is_my_dream_job/ Phil Brown breaking the news that he would love to manage the mackems in the Basildon Canvey Southend Echo
  4. I don’t think it matters who they get tbh, that playing staff is fucking rotten.
  5. Should do a Sunderland shirt signed by Lee Clark.
  6. They’re total fucking shite. Nailed on for the drop if they lose at home to fucking Bolton.
  7. Aye was going to say, free flowing attacking football is not something I’d associate with Everton.
  8. I'm not saying it's impossible (although I think the mackems hope of an automatic relegation situation is), I just personally don't see it as being massively likely as the FA haven't exactly been particularly heavy handed with points deductions on PL sides. I think it also opens a bit of a can of worms for the FA as clubs like Manchester United and Manchester City have been taking some pretty aggressive stances themselves to ensure players pay less tax on their wages with the way they structure where those wages are coming from. I saw it as a bit of a show of force by HMRC doing the raid and arresting a man as he quivered under his desk, rather than making me think it is a huge issue. I'm working on something currently where a company is defending their position over potentially structuring a deal to avoid $8bn worth of tax, they were never raided they just got a letter. I think the fact the press aren't making a massive deal out of it leans to the fact it's not going to be a massive deal. The bid also came after the allegations so it's not like they're going to suddenly get caught by surprise with it.
  9. Aye, it’ll be a fine, the taxes that were owed, plus interest on that money from the time it should have been paid. They’re pinning a lot of their hopes on the Swindon thing. The thing was though the Swindon one was more transfers and was in the early 90’s, it’s also worth noting that Swindon were originally meant to be barred promotion and relegated, they fought it and got the relegation bit taken away then ran out of money when they tried to fight the taking away of their promotion. Its pure fantasy land stuff from the mackems imo.
  10. Aye, many of them have those type of blinders when it comes to NUFC (I’m sure the same is for some of our lot but it’s definitely worse on their side). I saw one of them say it’s pointless sacking Grayson as the players are rotten and he was slagged to bits in typical RTG fashion (ones even saying “it’s a totally different group of players ” when it’s really not). Grayson is shite but he suits them and would do fine if it wasn’t for the absolute rot that is their playing staff. They laughed off that secret footballer lad when he said it, but that lad had no reason to bring it up as it’s not like making some claims about SAFC brought attention to his book since no one gives a fuck about them, he was simply passing on what was clearly reliable info and instead of listening to it they went into rabid attack mode. The reality is theyve overrated the shite on their books for years and turned a blind eye to the glaring lack of professionalism amongst their playing staff. They’re now thrilled ‘catts’ has been dropped despite making him out to be some Keane type for years because he turned up for two games a season (against you guessed it NUFC), the other 36 he was a total fucking clogger and spent his free time getting barred from various boozers. They also tend to fall in love with any youngster that plays, the reason being that a bit of graft stands out massively in their side as the others simply don’t give a fuck (players like Watmore and Gooch fall into this category, both fucking shite players who the mackems saw as quality). I also love that they are now getting defensive and calling any toon fan that pokes fun obsessed, the difference is we never made bold claims about how we’d ignore them this season like they did last season about us. Many actually said it was going to be a belta as all their claims of “easy League” and “yous are having another rafagation” would inevitably backfire. I’m personally absolutely fucking loving it and make no bones whatsoever about paying attention to them this year more than I have in yonks, and they’d be kidding themselves if they wouldn’t be lapping this up if it was the other way round.
  11. I personally absolutely fucking hate them. They have no self awareness whatsoever as they responded to a Facebook group that wanted them banned by implying most like what they do iirc. The shitty, turgid, uninspired trumpeting always made the half arsed performances the English players put in at world cups look even more lackadaisical than they were. I’ve always been of the belief they’re all middle-England types who only follow England and don’t really bother with league clubs as they’re not really into footy.
  12. It’s also worth noting they dodged massive periods of our best sides in recent years by being too shite to be in the same league as us.
  13. Aye, they really should pack in trying to take any sort of high ground. I’ll also add the 6 in a row craic doesn’t bother me, aye the actual losses fucked me off but they’re irrelevant now aren’t they? The mackems are set to be a League One club ffs while our lot are well fancied to beat the drop and have a great deal of positivity and momentum.
  14. Have to say I don’t go on there much so maybe it’s always like this but it’s fucking gold on there today. https://www.readytogo.net/smb/threads/peter-reid-kevin-ball.1399482/ A thread basically day dreaming of having a Peter Reid and Kevin Ball managerial partnership team where Kevin Ball kicks the players in .
  15. That thread shows why it’s fucking pointless getting into debates with most of them where NUFC are involved. One of them even says less than 1% of their support would swap Grayson for Rafa it’s Rafa Benitez ffs, I get that they dislike us but this is a manager that has won La Liga, CL, etc it’s just fucking absurd the way they have carried on about him as if he’s some total joke manager who has failed everywhere. They regularly cite his spell at Real Madrid as evidence he’s shit! He fell out with Ronaldo and it went downhill, that’s who we have as manager, a bloke who 6 month before managing us was coaching one of the greatest players to ever live at one of the biggest clubs in the world and because he manages us they’re so blind to all that logic that they rate Sam Allardyce and Simon Grayson as being better managers than him. The daft part about it is they’re being serious.
  16. Btw the thread about our takeover is a belta, it went on during their match. The last few pages consist of Sima and two mackems bickering about who was sadder, him for being a Newcastle fan on a mackem forum or a mackem discussing NUFC while the mackems are on, then two other mackems comparing how many games they’ve been to since the 70’s (a mackemoff if you will), before ending with a mackem getting so wound up (despite earlier saying he’s not bothered) that he said he wouldn’t bat an eye if every Newcastle fan died . What a bunch they are. I hope the Bristol fans enjoy their night out in a proper city as they were all planning, after beating that rabble.
  17. Just had a look on their place and see they have a 10 page thread started this morning about our potential takeover. One of them on the thread is class, he's doing that thing where he's pretending he has some knowledge of the situation while clearly having no grasp of what he's on about. Just keeps citing the tax issue as being why the takeover will never happen, ignoring the fact NDA's were signed long after this tax case was public knowledge, and that if it did happen FFP would mean we'd never see big investment, because that rule has been applied very heavy handed so far . The best bit to this experts analysis is when he waffles on early in the thread about how the HMRC and FA will look to make a massive example to prevent it happening again, then later in the thread shows he thinks the amount in question is in the hundreds of thousands so not only is this fucking nugget pinning his hopes to this unlikely conclusion to a tax case but he thinks all that (relegation, loss of takeover, etc) will happen over a few hundred grand! The reality is companies take dodgy tax positions all the time, I can't remember the way IFRS treats this area but in the U.S. companies set up reserves in case the authorities come after them for these risky positions, so there may be something on the books already - in which case it's going to be no issue whatsoever to the interested party (not that I see it being one if there was no reserve established). The club appear to be alleged to have been avoiding tax by using a conduit, if a court agrees with HMRC then the club will be assessed a tax bill, plus a fine, plus interest on the original tax bill. Maybe I'm wrong and the FA will see all this and take the massive step of relegating NUFC, I don't really see it and clearly the interested parties don't see it as they are pressing ahead.
  18. Aye that was a belta. They paid him no mind, if that was in person they’d have all stopped talking and looked at him before turning away and going “...well anyway buzzing to get on the pints in Newcastle after chinning Sunderland”. Why the fuck would you be going arse licking the fans of the team you play next ffs.
  19. I like to think it was Oba who tipped them off to your article, the mental bastard. It was probably ‘written’ by one of his hangers on that he regularly flew over to Newcastle.
  20. I mean I get that he gave them credit by pointing to where he got the info but it just makes the article redundant if he’s not really adding anything to it. He may as well have just posted a link.
  21. That Ryder article is class btw, he’s literally just copy and pasted from that UAE newspaper, the nationals, article on the same topic. He didn’t even bother changing the wording. Here’s the National article Ryder lifted from: https://www.thenational.ae/world/english-football-s-economic-miracle-driving-staveley-s-newcastle-bid-1.670629
  22. 0-5 based on absolutely nothing whatsoever. Chris Wood is a threat but I think our CB’s will match up well against him.
