No, of course 1 point from 6 games is poor, but this is the type of run most newly promoted teams suffer, Huddersfield have had 3 points from their last 6 games. In that run they were battered 4-0 by Bournemouth, 5-0 by Arsenal, and 3-0 by Liverpool. You also need to look at the sides we played in the last 6, Man Utd, Chelsea are games we weren’t going to fare well in, Watford and Burnley are strong sides that are both having a good season, Bournemouth are a capable side that started poor (see 4-0 hammering of Hudds) but that one was a disappointing match, the West Brom game was tight but we were probably the better side on balance and were playing away from home.

November was always going to be tough for us, Watford are better than us, as are Manchester United (who gave Watford and Arsenal similar kickings since we played them), the team played well overall against West Brom, I hoped for a win but fine with a point, the Bournemouth game was disappointing but they have a decent enough side and we were unlucky to concede. No idea what people were expecting away to Chelsea. We need Lascelles back, and we have just got Merino back from a lay off. The team we have is weak and is newly promoted, this season was always going to be a struggle as it is for Huddersfield and Brighton. That’s why I look at other teams and their results.

How is it irrelevant what other teams around us do? I’d say it is very relevant. We were always going to be fighting relegation, we are a newly promoted side. What did you expect? That we’d be comfortable at this point? People starting to get on Benitez’s back is absolutely fucking absurd, but tbh Noelie was fucking absurd all of last season as well so I expect nothing less from him.

I get we’ve been on a poor run but the sides around us are doing equally as poor. Brighton got absolutely mullered at home to Liverpool, and Huddersfield were comfortably beaten too, Swansea lost to Stoke etc.

The last time this happened (1986) it was years in the making, this one has been months. The Republicans are preaching about how this will help lower and middle class families, but things like deductions for student loan interest have been taken out despite the crises over student loans. Honestly it’s fucking crippling and coupling this with the net neutrality issue it shows how shambolic the government is over here. The last few weeks have been dreadful for me personally and for my family, so with all of this bollocks going on I’m genuinely looking to just move home to the UK.

Fwiw I understood Rafa going with Manquillo over Yedlin, Yedlin has been woeful recently and seemingly lacking confidence so I doubt playing Hazard and co would have helped that.
