Fwiw there’s also rumours going round that a staff member has leaked it’s done, I didn’t believe it at first but seeing all these journos reporting it is making me more likely to actually start getting excited.

As I said in the last match thread without Lascelles I can see it being a loss, if he starts hopefully we get back to resembling the resolute side from earlier on in the season and can get a positive result.

Fully agree, that middle aged bloke in a seemingly decent job that posted a derby goal by their lot against NUFC for no reason on a post about them losing the bid for city of culture sums them up. Everton can’t get out their box in this first half against Liverpool. Pickford has had more touches of the ball than any other Everton player. Hopefully the floodgates open second half to knock their confidence a bit ahead of the match on Wednesday.

Whatever happens with us the fact is they’re heading right to League One, it’s utterly pathetic. Our only hope at the moment is that once Lascelles comes back into the side we show some of the defensive solidity that we had before he got hurt. If it does then we might limp to January where the fat pig might invest.

It is weird that he seems totally opposed to trying those players there. There is absolutely no way Merino or Shelvey playing there would do less than Mo fucking Diame.

To be fair Gayle showed today he can play up front alone. He played it off a broomstick for the first goal, then scored the second.

We may as well select him and have him stand behind the goal telling the defence what to do, since Lejuene and Clark take up exactly the same positions and follow the same player around anyway.

Hopefully Lascelles starts on Wednesday as the Clark and Lejuene pairing is rough to watch, they just constantly close the same man down leaving the middle wide open.

I suppose, I more meant it was totally avoidable. Agree that Darlow should have got a hand to it. We are giving them too much space in the 25-40 yards out from goal area.

Ok half overall, shame that misplaced pass cost us. No idea why but for about 20 minutes after we scored the team forgot how to pass.

Agreed, I know people get frustrated with Perez but Joselu basically doesn’t even touch the ball now.
