Aye Defoe done well there but they’re incapable of context. He scored so often because their game plan was basically give the ball to Defoe and let him shoot, whereas at another club he gets a more normal level of chances. It’s been similar with Grabban this season, he scored far more than a striker of his ability usually would as everything was put through him. As I say Defoe did well and you still have to be good enough to put the chances away (shite like Joselu would squander them) but as you say they get really over the top about him because they constantly ignore context. It’s similar with Allardyce and them, they see him as an unbelievable manager despite him having them surviving by 1 point over a club that was completely imploding under McClaren. If we hadn’t have went down that season I highly doubt they’d see him as some quality manager.

I think the ridiculous way a lot of them reacted to our relegation and season in the Championship adds to it as well. They even continued this false arrogance when they were having yet another of the worst seasons in Premier League history, and despite the fact they survived by 1 point after taking 4 off us. That video of the mackems being interviewed outside the ground is fucking belta and sums them up. Aye he was quality, obviously the shot stopping, command of the area, and composure were all impressive but his passing, as you mentioned, is what really stood out. It was brilliant to see the ball come to him and rather than be the start of an opposition attack due to a completely unaimed howk up the pitch he actually started attacks for us. I heard a rumour we have a fairly low buy out in his loan deal so hopefully that’s true if this debut was a true reflection of the blokes ability.

Aye we played as attacking as we could really and went for it, hence getting a pen shout, a dodgy offside ruling, and a goal. As you say though that’s about as humble as Jose could be so I’ll take it.

Aye, I think he was intended to be back up. Rafa probably then expected to get a properly priced player of a similar mould (like Slimani I guess) in the summer but ran up against the wall of incompetence that is Lee Charnley aka Ashley’s bullshit excuse for why he’s such a fucking tight cunt “oh I fort Lee would sort it ahht I was away on ‘oliday like I ahm every transfer window”.

Aye, he’s thick as fuck tbh so the best way for him to get any attention as a pundit is to slag us off since his playing history with us allows him to act like a subject expert. This is clear to me when you compare him to Jenas, who had a far worse relationship over the years with the fan base imo yet is measured, intelligent, and often insightful about NUFC, then Bellamy comes on and trots out “they expect to win the league” sort of shite.

Aye Diame has really improved in recent performances. I agree that CM suits him far more than the number 10 role, having Jamaal try and give you a kicking probably helps the motivation as well. I liked the look of Kenedy, he does seem to have a spark of creativity that the majority of our squad lack. Overall we deserved the win so it’s frustrating to miss out again due to poor finishing, as you mention hopefully Slimani can come in to the side soon and he can start putting away some of these chances.
