  1. Good confident start, Shelvey just pinging balls over the top. Shame Gayle couldn’t get that one under control in time to make it 2.
  2. Agree that it’s an odd move, no idea what’s gained from announcing it unless it’s ticket renewal time and they’re making sure people know why they are being moved. At least that mob of pigeons will be able to nest there in peace though. Grim place.
  3. Aye that’s it like, it’ll have been steady investment over a long period to get them to where they are, without instant pay outs so he’d have likely abandoned it (pretty sure there was at least a planned investment at some point which was either not followed through or wasn’t continued to be built upon). I also agree the personnel is an issue, our youth staff have basically been Steve Stone and Peter Beardsley for a good period of our recent history. I know we have a scouting system in place for youth throughout Europe (brother in laws father is a scout) but I’ve no idea to what extent they were listened to in the past or how much has changed since Rafa took over (they do seem to look on the continent more mind). As you’ve mentioned though you’d think it’d be something that would really interest him especially with his reluctance to pay transfer fees.
  4. I think that hits the nail on the head tbh. The club has definitely been plagued by short term thinking during his ownership, the “gambling” of going into seasons under strength and then panic buying in January if need be goes along with that imo. It is just something that always seemed like a no brainer, for a relatively small investment there’s so much potential for profit and first team improvement. It doesn’t have to be to the extent of Man City or Chelsea to pay off, I don’t imagine Southampton’s youth set up cost loads when compared to transfer fees.
  5. Agreed, the disinterest Ashley shows in the youth set up has always been odd especially considering the amount we made on Carroll. Fwiw I think it’s good to finally see a coaching staff that are actually planning and looking ahead to next season rather than trot out some bollocks about how we have to wait until our fate is certain as we’ve seen in the past.
  6. Exactly. Aye I agree, it’s all looking good. I’d just like if some of the other shitters could start seperating a bit from them. In a way though it’s class that they could go down when the bar is so low to stay up.
  7. They’re also doing their typical thing of just curling up into a ball and acting like anyone who laughs at them is obsessed. They done similar after we smacked them 4-1 at the rubbish tip, a few days later they were saying “you still talking about that”. I think it’s also difficult to fully enjoy it until we are out of our relegation fight.
  8. Remember Uncal Mick ffs, wonder if he’s made another midnight trip to hold signs outside of SJP this season.
  9. Aye it’s fucking brilliant. What a tragic group they are, the fact there’s any chance they might survive is unreal given how unbelievably shite they have been. I agree with zerosum though they’re a fucking mess.
  10. Good pro by all accounts, leave behind a young family. Fucking gutted tbh. Glad to see serie A postponed their fixtures, quality touch. Awful fucking news.
  11. Good bit of play that, ending with a canny shot by Diame. At least there was a reaction.
  12. Aye, I’m fine with playing on the counter but we are far too deep. They’ve basically just been passing it round the first third of our half under no pressure for 40 minutes.
  13. Not sure why Salah is bothering to warm up he’s going to be spending 90 minutes in Dummett’s back pocket.
  14. How fucking class would that be, that smug fat horrible wanker finally getting relegated and with a team that has spunked a fucking fortune.
  15. We’ll howk these. Murphy will turn Robertson inside out all match and Dubravka will block owt Salah does. Then the pundits will slag us to bits because they’ll all be gutted we stopped the best attack ever known to man.
  16. Good composure from Son for the goal. I really would like to see Huddersfield go down, part of it is because that Wagner is a right smarmy wanker.
  17. Scouse mackems tbh, chuffed that they spunked a load of money on complete and utter shite, lost Koeman and got Sam Allardyce .
  18. Aye Defoe done well there but they’re incapable of context. He scored so often because their game plan was basically give the ball to Defoe and let him shoot, whereas at another club he gets a more normal level of chances. It’s been similar with Grabban this season, he scored far more than a striker of his ability usually would as everything was put through him. As I say Defoe did well and you still have to be good enough to put the chances away (shite like Joselu would squander them) but as you say they get really over the top about him because they constantly ignore context. It’s similar with Allardyce and them, they see him as an unbelievable manager despite him having them surviving by 1 point over a club that was completely imploding under McClaren. If we hadn’t have went down that season I highly doubt they’d see him as some quality manager.
  19. They’ve only actually scored something like 1 goal in their last 7 or 8 games haven’t they? What a fucking tragic side they are. Probably struggle in League one as well, imagine the fucking clip of the manager they’ll get in once MLF Chris fucks off.
  20. Joselu would have struggled to put Rochdales first away tbf. Not sure what the Spurs defence were doing for it mind. Missed the 2nd half as I watched the Dortmund match but glad to see they got a draw as they played well first half.
  21. True, kicking lumps out of everyone also takes it out of your legs.
  22. I think the ridiculous way a lot of them reacted to our relegation and season in the Championship adds to it as well. They even continued this false arrogance when they were having yet another of the worst seasons in Premier League history, and despite the fact they survived by 1 point after taking 4 off us. That video of the mackems being interviewed outside the ground is fucking belta and sums them up. There’s one realistic one imo who basically says both clubs have it rough and they’re in no place to laugh, then it cuts to two fat munters with gurns worse than a British bulldog, complete with club shop ties (for fuck sake) who are saying “thasss cos weyaahh in the puremeyaah leeeeague not the championship”. I hope that big heaping of humble pie is making them sick now, saying that they seemed so fucking thick they’d still try and look down on NUFC despite there not being a single thing them or their city should look down at Newcastle or NUFC over. Good fucking riddance tbh, there are canny ones and realistic ones but the majority of their fan base has become so rabid, obsessive, and fucking ridiculous about NUFC that they fully deserve this. Fwiw they have some belta threads about Lee Cattermole on there at the moment, seems they’ve finally clicked onto the fact he’s absolutely fucking shite when they don’t get to wank off to him lunging into horrific tackles against NUFC twice a season. They used to genuinely say he was better than Cabaye and Tiote some are trying to say it’s just because he’s old and his legs are going but the bloke is 29 ffs, it’s just because he’s a fucking donkey and always has been.
  23. It was Barry, Myhill, Livermore, and Evans It’s the sort of shite you’d expect from some lads early on in their career not a bunch of seasoned pros. Pardew doesn’t half know how to turn a club into a fucking joke, how the fuck does he keep getting jobs in the Premier League?
