He’s got such exciting talent at his disposal like Rashford and Martial but he doesn’t seem to play them as much as they warrant. I thought Pogba was doing okay today as well and he subbed him off which will further damage that relationship if reports are true. Calling us poocastle man, it’s as shite and as uninspired as their club. They’ve no clue what to do now, last season we were shite, Rafa was shite, and the ‘lower leagues’ are a piece of piss. Then we got promoted and Rafa was still shite, he spent a fortune last year and the squad is Championship standard. Now our squad is the PL standard one he took over but he’s also spent £90m on so we are exactly where you’d expect it to be and he’s done nothing impressive they’re also all fewmin that we didn’t turn on him when we had a brief spell in the bottom 3 as if he wasn’t foreign we’d have definitely turned on him. Not sure where they are on the ‘not bothered about the Maggie bastards’ scale but tbf they really shouldn’t be as the closest they’ll get to playing NUFC will be if their first team meets our U23 side in the Trotters Independent trading Co cup or whatever the fuck it is. I assume a team as wank as them would be knocked out of the League cup and FA cup a round or so before our lot even enter it.

Aye it’s brilliant that we’ll be able to watch the last few matches without any pressure. We’re becoming a side that can comfortably close out results too which is amazing to see as an NUFC fan. Fully agree about Jonjo as well, I’m not normally arsed about our lot playing for England but he fully deserves it (especially over Livermore ffs) plus then it shows you can get picked while playing for Newcastle (we know you can but it wouldn’t look good to have players in the form of Lascelles and Shelvey not get selected).

2 points off 8th the way we are playing I don’t doubt picking up points in any of our remaining fixtures. It’ll be nice watching the Leicester and Everton fixtures rather than looking for Palace, Swansea, Huddersfield etc.

Aye Ritchie had a good game, covers so much ground during a game. Rafa has made this lot very difficult to beat. The mackems have a huge thread about this one, the early pages when Arsenal took the lead are quality they’re fucking desperate for us to hate Rafa saying if Pardew has 30% possession at home to Arsenal he’d get pelters. Aye that about sums up TFS. I can’t remember if it was that or another one but they had a mackem lad on recently (not Wilson who is always interesting on podcasts) who I guess played some games in the lower leagues and he kept interrupting everyone to basically remind them of it . He came out with a shite story about how someone he played with started on Roy Keane, talked about how the best part of his day as a youth player was the group bath at the end of training, and ended with his tip for which game to watch at the weekend as some really obscure semi pro tie. You could tell Rafa Honigstein had no idea how to react to him. Just checked and it was Michael Cox.

Tbh they should welcome the money, the skint little tramps. As Billy said they’ve got some brass neck acting outraged about what’s likely a handful of Newcastle fans wanting to go and take the piss when they paid for a plane with a banner. The best part about that plane is as time goes by it looks more and more small time. That plane rental probably cost a good percentage of their gate receipts this season.

The form we are in I can honestly see us getting points off anyone, it’s nice to have this positivity and lack of pressure. That Mustafi has been looking a bit ropey recently so hopefully Slimani or Gayle take advantage of that. That Aubemeyang is dangerous, but I’m actually confident in our backline (how often have we been able to say that it’s class), they did well with a pacey and direct forward last weekend as well.

Waste if the lad does go to those types of club. At his age and stage of development he needs game time, of course I hope it’s with us but even if it’s not he should be playing regularly and it’ll be a shame if he ends up back in reserve games or is farmed out on loan to different sides in different countries as those sorts of transitions can be difficult (as Renato Sanches is showing).

I love that he levels all that at Shelvey yet when Dele Alli does similar stuff it’s seen as ‘clever’. Shelvey can be a bit of a snidey bugger and can lose his cool but I think Crooks is painting him in a very unfair light as he’s not the sort of player that throws in leg breakers or intentionally tries to hurt players.
