Maybe Rodwell could loan him some money to help the bloke show he has the backing. This wealthy Spanish contingent should step forward soon!

Didn’t they rate Moyes as better than Benitez when he first took over? They fucking wonder why we see them as obsessive shite talkers. I’ve no doubt Rafa will try and use this as leverage over Ashley so expect there to be a lot more coverage of this link. Rightfully so mind as Ashley is being a ridiculous cunt as usual, just be open with the bloke and set him a transfer budget that is truthful and is actually stuck too.
-
Can’t see him going to West Ham, it’s further from his family, the club is in a rank spot with the stadium, and he’ll feel he has a strong bargaining position at NUFC due to the esteem the fans and players hold him in (obviously that might not count for much with Ashley). He’d basically have to build all that back up again at West Ham. Everton is obviously a non starter as it’s likely damage his relationship with Liverpool, and he’s belittled Everton in comments in the past. The only way I see him leaving is if he gets completely sick of Ashley and can’t see himself carrying on, or a far bigger club comes in for him that he feels is worth disrupting his family life for. Funny that the mackems have a 20 page thread about this btw, I thought he was fucking shite? It’s odd that they can’t wrap their heads around why we hold Rafa in such high regard yet they’re borderline obsessed with a fat, arrogant, bully who was at their club about 10 month had them 2 points off the drop and fucked them off immediately. I actually saw comments where mackems were saying Benitez’s style of football is exactly the same as Allardyces, with that complete lack of understanding of the game of football you can see why they rate Allardyce in the face of literally every shred of evidence pointing to how wank he is.

Fucking shambolic. I genuinely have no idea how Phil Jones gets capped, the bloke is a fucking nightmare.
-
I just remember the fat cunt going down the steps from the stand as he’d started sat on his sofa with the tvs around him and his headset on. The abuse he got on his way down was class. What a fucking twat he is man.
-
Exactly. See Newcastle on Facebook put up a post saying Jonjo hasn’t received a PL booking in 2018. It’s just a convenient excuse because Southgate would have no idea what to do with him tactically.
-
I’ve always thought he did that for show anyway, so that if anyone called him a dinosaur he could point to these modern techniques he’s using. The reality is it’s a further drain on clubs he leaves as they have to get rid of a really extensive and unnecessary back room staff.

Evertons statistics are grim since he took over. They’re 19th or 20th in the league for things like shots, shots on target, chances created etc iirc. They brought him in to stave off relegation, and he’s accomplished that so he sees it as a job well done. The issue is they panicked about relegation far too soon and it shouldn’t have been about bringing in a ‘firefighter’ manager. He came in and managed them as if they were the weaker side every match. He’s now driving Rooney (who iirc is their top scorer) out of the club, for no real reason other than Rooney sees him for what he is. As others say there’s a reason this bloke is disliked everywhere he has been. He points to the fact clubs usually go down when he leaves them as if it means it was him keeping their head above water but the reality is he fucking annihalates teams, riddles squads with utter cloggers who can only play one way and it’s a fucking mess when he leaves. If Everton don’t get shot of him ASAP their ownership is fucking mental.

Agreed, it’s ridiculous to me that Mawson has had a call up and Lascelles hasn’t. Mawson who plays in a very leaky back line, over Lascelles who has been the stand out player in a defence that has conceded less than Arsenal.
-
Agreed, the daftest part is him (in his mind) not taking a risk by taking Shelvey is taking a large risk imo as he’s kneecapping his squad by having a bunch of CMs who play very similar roles.
-
Aye “there will be no surprises” in the squad selection Southgate has said, so basically it’ll be in line with recent friendly squads. Feel bad for Shelvey as the lad looked like he was buzzing when asked about possibly featuring for England after the Chelsea match. The reality is Southgate won’t have even gave him a second thought, which is pathetic. What is even more pathetic is that a horrifically limited player like Jake Livermore will be selected over him. Tbh he’d probably select Wilshere over him despite the lad only playing about a third of this season and his issues with injury being likely a bigger issue than bad discipline from Shelvey (as tbh Shelvey hasn’t been bad 2nd half of the season with that and would likely only be a 2nd option but at least he’d be an available plan B unlike sick note).

What a fucking wanker he is. Everything he ‘hopes’ to happen is well within his power to ensure happens all he has to do is be honest with Rafa, give him a budget and stick to it. “Pantomime villain” stop fucking acting like one then you joker. I can’t wait until the club is eventually rid of him.
-
Aye, they’ve been bringing up the HMRC raid again ffs some of the knackers honestly think it’s going to end in a large point deduction for us, fucking obsessed tiny little lower league tramps.
-
Aye you just have to look at the results in the games he missed and compare to the games he played to see his importance. I’m fairly sure he was injured in both the matches we lost by a 3 goal margin (our biggest deficit). I agree with ewerk in that he wouldn’t be fazed starting for England, he had a bit of a rough start to his NUFC career with many (myself included) being unconvinced by him early on but it didn’t bother him and he actually grew when given the pressure of captaincy. The dream is the club gets taken over by a group with some ambition, we keep Rafa and then build around Lascelles. I think he’ll be fairly in demand though as he’s a very competent, intelligent, and young English centre half which is very rare. For me he’s better than the likes of Maguire, Keane, and co but it’s good for us if they keep getting more attention (although I’m not sure how much longer that will continue).
-
It’s mental having a side with pace of Sterling, Lingaard, Kane, and Alli up top and not wanting to bring a bloke that could lay on some great balls to them in favour of three players that would wince at the thought of attempting a pass over 8 yards. He’d be a great option in a game where the team is set up to play on the counter, or a 2nd option to if we are dominating possession but can’t break down a team sitting deep.

Rafa's god-like grafters v Antonio's turgid turds

Only 13 days in the bottom 3, and even then never lower than 18th. Brilliant season, Ashley should be breaking his neck to keep this bloke it’s not even like Rafa will be asking for a fortune. -
I love that none of them see the irony of saying we are obsessed with them, or that they are everything to us in a thread where they’re all sat watching our match, which is a complete dead rubber match, when there are 10 other games on (I know we were the one on Telly but howay). Almost as funny as a post I saw on there earlier. A bloke called us the most deluded fan base around, then in the next paragraph said that Newcastle are now what they have been for the last 10 years a mid-table PL side . They managed the dizzying height of 10th once in their 10 year stretch the daft cunts barely had a sniff of anything higher than 15th ffs.

Class performance and a great way to end the season. Agree with those saying these sort of performances highlight why Shelvey should be going to the World Cup. Sadly the manager is a bloke who would say his favorite drink is water, so he’ll take Livermore, Dier, and Henderson. -

Ross Barkley seems to enjoy playing against us so bit shite seeing him start, hopefully he’s completely out of form/fitness given how little he has played though. -
The OFFICIAL Transfer Rumours Thread 2018 -2019
Howay replied to Anorthernsoul's topic in Newcastle Forum
You tell them essembee, we should all still be on a high from the mackems decline. I get what Fish is saying but I think to be fair to Leicester in that particular season they were the best team. There were factors such as the usual top sides having an off season and usual service has since resumed. Still astounding that a defence as shite as Simpson, Huth, Morgan, and Fuchs won the league mind, but as Quiff mentions they do have quality such as Vardy, Mahrez, Kante, and even Drinkwater (albeit excelling in a very restricted role). I do absolutely go against Fish’s comment about Navas being better than Mahrez, in fact I demand an apology for that one. Navas is the poster boy of not having any end product whatsoever. I’m a big fan of Sterling though and have always thought he was quality, in that particular season Mahrez was better but overall I prefer Sterling. -
Gary Johnson is a fucking lunatic as well tbf. Fairly sure he also said he’d basically get rid of every single Government department because according to him they don’t do anything, then when given examples of what they do replied “okay yeah well I would keep that department”

Much to his dismay the staunch work of the South Koreans, and Chinese as well as the accident at the testing site undone his year of simply abusing and goading Kim Jong Un. As yourself and PL have said he now needs a new distraction from basically everything else he is doing wrong/has done wrong being news. Of course everyone could be upset about this completely transparent and very dangerous action but Donald Glover made a music video so that’s far more important to get angry about (despite Glover being spot on and rather depressingly having his point made for him).

Would be nice to end the season on a positive result. -
Aye, good summary of the situation. Your facts back up just how hard it is to return. I suppose it makes sense, when you drop into the Championship the longer you stay in it the more Championship standard your squad becomes. They’ve dropped again so their issue is even if they do manage promotion next season (fwiw I don’t see them doing it as I think there’s going to be too much upheaval, there are two sides dropping that came above them, and honestly I think their owner is a right fucking charlatan) they’ll firmly be a lower end Championship side quality wise (at the absolute best, they’ll be weaker than that iyam) so any shot of a double promotion is shot right there, especially with their owner Del Boy completely incapable of bankrolling them and their pathetic ticket sales not bringing in a good enough revenue. Imho this bloke will recruit a League One manager, look to sell off any sellable assets, and aim to have the manager play the youth and/or sign some League One players. There won’t be a “war chest” like some of the mackems think, or a big promotion push, he’ll have them stabilize down there to stop the rot and decline. The plus for us is this could see them become a proper League One side. I agree with Stone cold Stephen Ireland that we’ll not see these pricks in the PL in an awfully long time (personally hope they never return).
