I’ve got a lot of respect for Sterling. Quality player who has made massive steps forward under Guardiola. Sterling is also consistently targeted for abuse by fan bases and nasty articles in the press, which I don’t understand as he’s always come across as a genuine, hard working, model professional imo. The Liverpool fans are still poisonous towards him, one look at the comments on any of his Instagram posts shows that, but they love Suarez a bloke who did exactly the same thing, moved on to a better club. Weirdly other fan bases also follow this and get insulted for Sterling leaving Liverpool, despite the fact he moved to Liverpool at 16 from QPR and almost immediately emerged as one of their best players, so I’m not sure what he’s supposed to owe Liverpool. Chelsea fans also have prior for this, up there with West Ham and Stoke fans for scummiest in England imo. His instagram post this morning which is what strawb mentioned is spot on as well, two Man City youth players bought £2M homes for their mams, the daily mail made a nice article about Foden in a positive light, whereas Adarabioyo who is black is portrayed as splashing cash with a pretty negative headline. It’s something that has been used about Sterling himself in the past with regard to cars etc. it’s disgraceful tbh.

In all honesty this match will prove exactly why I’d be happy never to have a derby match with them again. Went to see TJ Miller do stand up tonight, wasn’t sure what to expect going into it, and it ended up being among the best stand up shows I’ve seen. I don’t know how much he travels for his shows, on account of him being a bit of a fucking maniac, but if you get the chance to see him he was definitely worth going to see. Special mention goes to the woman sat behind me though, Miller said existential crisis at one point and she said “what the hell does that even mean”, then towards the end of his act he said “this is a brief summary of the US Government” before screaming into the wrong end of a trumpet and shortly after I could hear her whinging “what did that even mean? That was not funny... in fact it was really disrespectful”

More than likely this is it. I just feel that Clark should be fresh enough to play considering he hasn’t played the majority of our games, whereas players like Ritchie and Kenedy will play the Everton match and have played all season. Whatever the case Manquillo being shite wasn’t really the issue (aside from the first goal). It was just a general lack of quality in most areas, especially Ayoze’s. I was actually really disappointed in Schar, he’s looked pretty assured in most games he has featured but was making some really odd decisions today.

Thank fuck for that, hope they go on to win. All the above points still stand like he’s really becoming a poor manager.

This Southampton result isn’t great for us, surely Manchester United have to now consider chucking Jose I really don’t see what they are expecting to get out of him now. He’s spent more or equally as much as all those above him over his tenure yet slags off all of his own signings and is getting nothing from them. You can’t see any way they will compete for a title with him, they came 2nd last year but they weren’t competing. One of the best CM’s in the world looks utter dogshit for him, a quality striker hasn’t scored at home for the entirety of the Formula One season, basically every player has regressed under him. I remember when Bailly first come in the league he looked class, now he’s a joke and Mourinho has played Matic and fucking McTominay over him. Agreed, I know Clark was really playing in a central 3 so the system was different to the flat four today but Clark should absolutely play over Manquillo even at full back. Manquillo is so poor, I understand Kenedy could have done more for the cross but the fact is that was Snodgrass who was Manquillo’s man, while Manquillo was taking up a position in the box covering someone that one of our centre mids already had covered.

I guess it’s not even worth saying anymore but it really is time Ashley just fucked off. You can see Benitez is really trying his best with how he sets the team up, and his instructions. You can often see how they are meant to play but there’s nothing he can do about this extreme lack of quality in the squad. We very often have moves break down simply because of a wayward pass, and nearly every game defenders making bizarre decisions, attackers fluffing chance after chance etc. some games the players can pull it together and execute the plan, other days they just show their lack of talent. Dreadful by the team today. Personally thought Diame was tragic nearly every time he won the ball back well he would almost immediately lose it, it’s not even worth discussing the games Perez and Manquillo had. I’m just tired of watching players like Manquillo, Perez and Diame (I know he’s had a run of ok performances but by and large he’s a poor player) they are shit, we’ve known for years they are shit, Rafa knows they’re shit and yet we are still seeing the fuckers play every week because this fat, ugly, parasite that owns NUFC won’t let us bring anyone in.

I think that’s the most frustrating part, Perez’s movement and positioning is really good so he gets more chances than most but fluffs nearly all of them. Surely this is something he could be working harder on in training.

It must be so frustrating for a player like Ki watching players like Perez, Manquillo, and even Diame just concede possession at will. Perez should have a goal out of that half tbh.
