  1. Yellow for Lascelles. Absurd decision, Pickford didn’t get a booking for what could be any one of denying a clear goal scoring opportunity, professional foul, and likely a few others so how could Lascelles get booked?
  2. Disgraceful refereeing. Everton literally got an advantage from their foul, as Rondon definitely would have scored so Pickford just rugby tackles him having no intention of going for the ball and then gets a chance to save it. Absolutely farcical.
  3. While I’m obviously happy Chelsea’s ban didn’t get pushed back due to appeal, it’s just another instance of FIFA looking incompetent and arguably biased. All three Spanish sides in similar situations had their bans pushed back, three of the players Barca signed in that window still play every week for them. I know the argument is that because the Spanish sides made a farce of the ban the rule had to change, but why didn’t it change after the Barca one? In any case I’m not arsed because Chelsea are a rotten club, just any excuse to have a dig at FIFA. I think if Man City get a similar ban Pep will go, especially if he wins everything this season. While I feel like going to Juve would present absolutely no challenge whatsoever for him (CL ambition aside obviously but that applies anywhere he went) I think he’d like to say he’d won the title in the big four leagues.
  4. Honestly man, that’s an absolute disgrace. Disgusting behavior, also a nice dollop of victim blaming there. I’m sure the people making those comments have a full picture of what happened and the impacts on the adolescent girl and her family.
  5. Plenty of time to cook the Mrs loads of poachies, along with time to spare for a good old stare. The comment after ewerk’s post btw
  6. That Pompey game under Allardyce
  7. Agree with what others are saying. I think he is enjoying being at NUFC and would love to stay but I just feel his patience will run out with Ashley. It’s really ridiculous that an owner will with hold funds from a manager until they sign a new contract, and Rafa basically had to play this game of chicken right down to deadline day before Ashley caved. Maybe Rafa will move past that sort of game but I’m not convinced.
  8. Canny interview with Gutierrez: https://www.planetfootball.com/in-depth/jonas-gutierrez-joining-newcastle-was-the-best-decision-of-my-life/
  9. If they do win it I fully expect a bunch of “this mag where I work is really jealous, they’ve not won anything since 1969 he says and now the lads have won a trophy. Better than being in the prem this” type threads on RTG. If that counts our 2 Championship titles count
  10. I don’t know how anyone could watch that documentary and think highly of that fan base. They came across very badly imo, which is very telling of what they’re really like considering it was made by a bunch of mackems who iirc in another doc they made had the subtitles or voice over say Maradona wanted to play for Sunderland when he really said Sheffield United. As a football club they’ve played something like 2 games in Europe in history, this is why they’re champing at the bit to always create these intangible properties to their crappy club. It was classy until the club wide backing of a sexual predator, recently it’s been this ‘special club’ nonsense despite being at best a run of the mill fan base support wise (their ticket sales are shite, even needing to give free tickets away during their PL stints). They just need to wake up and realize they’re shite, they’re owned by blokes that have a lower net worth than many PL footballers, they’ve weirdly become even more arrogant as their club nose dives even further down. Shitty wretched little club with a shite fan base, I honestly don’t know how they can think themselves as some great support group when among other things in recent years they have; gave vocal support to a pervert, harrassed both of their best PL era managers (Reid and Bruce) throwing bananas and abuse at one and never accepting the other in anyway and ignoring his achievements at their club as he was born in Newcastle, and racially abused the mother of one of their best players in the PL era. All you have to do is watch when either Grabban or Bent score against them in that documentary, those are not the reactions you’d expect from former players of a club with a really special support.
  11. I had completely forgotten we had Rivière . Joselu is definitely up there with the worst stikers we’ve had, in fact I’d say he’s close to being as shit as some of what Sunderland would consider their ok stikers over the years.
  12. They really are a desperate bunch RTG will be buzzing about that.
  13. He’s been pushing to be away since the end of last season. He can’t be arsed to muster much above walking pace for the vast majority of games which can quite often cost us goals, while his passing can be an asset he can quite often get caught up in trying the spectacular ball over and over, and when he’s having a bad game he can be prone to lashing out stupidly seeing us reduced to 10 men. He can be a good player but he’s another in a long line of having the quality but not the professional attitude imo. I definitely would prefer Longstaff over him in the side, the kid has high potential, is hungry to prove himself, and wants to be at the club, Shelvey could potentially play next to Longstaff but I think you’d need to play them in a 3 as Shelvey is a lazy prick. The final bit for me is that I hear he is an absolute cunt of a bloke away from the pitch as well. If we could rip a team of overpayers like West Ham off for him and spend it replacing him I’d be chuffed (I know the second bit is unlikely). As Andrew says we have looked best this season when he’s not been around the side which says a lot.
  14. I’m sure he’d find something. “Not sure about this Aguero fella sure he scored 5 goals but could have had 6, if he had we’d have +89 gd instead it’s now +88. I still don’t know why Pep subs on Mahrez.”
  15. Which is allegedly what happened with the group that bought Man City. He went, spent half the time pissed and obnoxious, then kept moving the goalposts so they went and bought Man City instead. Could have spent the last 10 year watching David Silva instead of Jack Colback and Diame, we should absolutely be thanking Ashley though as he let the club spend a bit of what it brought in last time we got relegated due to his fucking about.
  16. Agreed, sadly the only way I think we will get shot of him is relegation and a few years in the Championship. Quite honestly when Rafa leaves we will go down imo, the only thing is he’ll then allow the club to buy players to get back to the PL and then talk about how much we lost because of that. What a cunt man.
  17. Fuck sake, I guess the hope now is that Shelvey will be back and (if he had any brain at all) be determined to prove himself since Longstaff has done enough from what I’ve seen to push him out the starting line up. I’d still rather Longstaff be fit and playing though.
  18. Aguero has been wank since he come on.
  19. What I have liked about him most is that he isn’t against just playing the easy ball. When I first saw him I was worried he would be the type that would try and dribble it past everyone all the time but he’s quite happy to just play the 5 yard pass back to Hayden if he doesn’t think the move is on.
  20. Why does Diame think he should shoot every time he got the ball near the box? Every other player was trying to play someone in, meanwhile every time it came to Diame he was trying to shoot despite being probably the least likely to score.
  21. Agreed, taking Longstaff off is disappointing but it was the right move with the way the ref has been officiating. That sums Ayoze up there, massively frustrating player. He has good movement and is very often in really good positions but then his end product lets him down.
  22. The bubble thing is tragic btw. What a club of fucking whoppers.
  23. Poor half that. We’re losing the battle in CM, Rice, Noble, and Lanzini are crowding out Longstaff and Hayden, I’d like to see Schar step out of defense a bit more to keep their 3 a bit further out.
  24. Fucking daft tackle that by Lejuene
  25. Agreed, he has no intention of getting the ball it was a clear “put on one him” type of challenge. Aye was a brilliant pass from Longstaff who has been pretty unfairly booked imo, both players went into the challenge the same way.
