We’ve needed a proper 6 since the takeover, I still don’t understand why it hasn’t been a priority. West Ham and Forest bought Alvarez and Sangare who would have both filled a key role for us. We have Bruno and Tonali both trying to get up the pitch and Pedro in acres of space as no one will sit. There’s also no fucking easy ball out from the back, so we end up booting it under pressure right back to Brighton.

I don’t get why Joelinton and Tonali are pushed so far up, we’re struggling to control the midfield when we absolutely shouldn’t be and it’s because we’re stretching our own CM while Brighton are staying as a compact unit.

It seems like we’ve completely changed how we play and I can’t see why, our wingers are so deep and we’re not pressing teams, it’s leaving Isak isolated and giving teams control.

Targett is hopeless, may as well not even be on the pitch the ease they go past him. Almiron with suicidal back passes too.

Aye we have them outnumbered in CM, and their two are Gross and Gilmour neither would get into our midfield so I fancy us to try and control that.

Looking at both CM’s I fancy ours to control that, hopefully that’s where we can keep the game as I feel they’re going to try and attack our flanks.

That’s why I find our business this summer odd, we spent a wedge on Barnes and Livramento who, while I like both, don’t seem to be starters. We’d have been better off buying a right winger or a 6 (like Alvarez) with the Barnes money.

Fingers crossed, sometimes wish Howe wasn’t so stubborn about new signings as Targett is a woeful full back and we’ve spent a wedge on full backs. Hopefully Almiron doesn’t miss a bunch of sitters again, as has been common in 2023 for him.

Aye he literally never ever tries anything else, different players or different formations. Then people are shocked we have no plan B . Like he would play Kane in every fucking friendly, so no one has any idea how another striker would fit.

It’s mental like, Maguire and Phillips have barely played club football for over a year now yet they’re in every squad. The other weird one to me is he picked Sterling the whole time he was off the boil, then once he’s found a bit of form Southgate drops him. As I’ve said in the past I’m just so relieved that Newcastle is on a path towards success now as having to hope Southgate figures out how to manage this very talented England squad would be even more painful if it was the only chance to see a team I support winning a trophy.
