Honestly man will he just fuck off. I feel at this point there just needs to be a complete boycott, if not of tickets due to the points Renton highlighted, definitely merchandise. No one should be buying the new shirt, firstly it looks utter shite but it’s just putting more money in his pocket. People should also pack in buying from SD and all his other trampy fucking shops. None of it will happen like, nothing will change, we’ll be relegated this year and he’ll let the club spend a little to be promoted and we’ll hear from the usual mugs in the press about how we expect to much and he’s shown he will back the club.

Short back and Stompin, with the monkey blasting on his phone, and a fake Burberry polo shirt wrapped around his waist.

I genuinely don’t see what pretending he wants to sell brings to him. As Rayvin has said they haven’t blamed the takeover for why there wasn’t a deal reached with Benitez, nor have they blamed it for any lack of signings. The decisions being made, or lack there of, will result in relegation this season. I don’t see why he’d do this in some weird attempt to keep the support quiet, generally the support will be quiet at this time anyway. I’m also not having it that he’s doing this to keep season ticket sales up, they already signed up a while ago and realistically if he’d just outwardly been a cunt, rejected the bid, and got rid of Rafa would there have been much more reaction from the fans than there is now with regard to cancellations? I’m not saying I think the takeover is going to happen, I just don’t see what he’d gain from pretending he was interested in selling.

Thank you, also thanks for admitting you had little time for us, we don’t need people patronizing us and pretending we are a club widely loved by other sets of supporters. Admittedly I don’t like your club, but that’s football and this isn’t a football issue as you’ve hinted at. I’ve said this before somewhere but the people who support and defend Mike Ashley can’t call themselves real fans of football. I exclude only the mackems, but they are a fan base that supports men grooming children so the less said about them the better. The moment a pundit defends him I lose every ounce of respect I had for them, regardless of what they have done in the game. This is all because men like Ashley are a threat to the game we love, or now in the case of many Newcastle fans loved. He has no desire, and no interest in allowing the club to rise anywhere above 17th, in fact given the choice he’d rather avoid the actual football piece all together if it was possible. Football was a sport I absolutely loved, but to be frank my interest in the game has decreased to apathy. I barely even cheer Newcastle goals anymore, and if I’m not able to watch the match I’m not desperate to check the score on my phone, in fact there have been times I’ve forgotten we were even playing. It should be a warning to other fan bases, but many continually defend Ashley past the point of simply taking the piss. I’ve seen it even stated Rafa has spent £200m so should be happy, completely disregarding all of the talent that walked out the door to fund that amount, also disregarding the rigid rules for who he could and couldn’t bring in as replacements which severely hindered any chance to adequately replace those departing players, let alone improve on them. To see reporters like Luke Edwards support Mike Ashley, and then play it off like ‘we have to be fair to both sides’ just to drive controversy and clicks in a moment like this sums up the position the game finds itself in. We’ll one day get rid of this parasite, hopefully sooner rather than later, but with the money in the game there will be plenty out there like him that see opportunity to bleed these clubs revenue streams while asset stripping at the same time.

Should we just lock this thread now, or are we all going to pretend there’s a chance we’ll sign any decent players?
-
Exactly, if only we had a manager that could have players performing above and beyond their ability which would mean any offer for them was inflated..... What a complete and utter fucking shambles. Going back to the ‘model’ that brought us two relegations, it makes it even worse that they don’t even fully commit to it as well.
-
Aye, they’ll be full of the ‘Rafas decision caught us unaware’ type of nonsense. Sad but utterly predictable news, I didn’t think Rafa would be staying short of a takeover. It could go through and Rafa could come back but Ashley will more than likely fuck that up as well. It’s actions (or in this case non action) like this that make me seriously doubt Ashley’s intelligence, if he kept Rafa and gave him the perfectly acceptable terms he was likely asking for we’d comfortably survive relegation. In comparison any manager we bring in would have to spend two or even three times whatever Rafa wanted to have this team surviving, as the players we have will regress to their actual ability. No doubt this coming third relegation will be the fans fault?

Going to the Bridges and strutting around outside Poundlands flagship store in it.

Spot on, the bloke is a complete and utter bore. He’s trying to argue it as if we only have limited information in which case we have to be ‘fair’ to both sides and put some blame on Rafa, where it falls down is that we have 12 years of evidence of Ashley being a complete cunt, including courtroom evidence that him and his hangers on have misled people. He’s farming for clicks just like the Ronny Gill lot. The dour cunt.

Puma are crap in general as well. The leaked Man City effort is lifting, I guess they’re paying a fortune so maybe it’s enough over their Nike deal to counteract what would be a potential decrease in sales due to how dog shit it is. I say potential as I think there’s a chance a lot of the buyers abroad will be influenced by how it looks as to whether they will buy Man City or PSG/Juve/Barca/Athleti/Madrid etc kits.

I agree (agree with KCG’s point about the second bidders too btw). The bit in bold in particular was doing my head in reading the chain, all of them including the knacker journo who put that in were acting like it was exactly 10-15 days these things take fucking ages. The group even said they were really hoping to get it done before the end of June, so it not being done in mid June doesn’t give us anything different to worry over than we had originally.

Generic small time football blather thread FOREVER

So can we cancel that fucking shambles now and put it somewhere else? Maybe Morocco or whoever it was that lost out on 2026 -
The draw held in Morrisons

Likely, I’m just trying to have some optimism that the fat cretin may finally leave.
-
It makes sense to me tbh, why sign this current offer with all of the uncertainty around the club? The potential new owners may even come in and offer him a higher salary, not a lot of point locking himself into Ashley’s deal.
-
I’ve always tried to stay mildly optimistic about it. I know as you’re saying it is just us winding ourselves up, but if it doesn’t happen, Rafa leaves, and we get the inevitable knacker of Ashley’s choosing in it’ll not be worth bothering to watch, which is a real shame. I also think if this one doesn’t go through, when it seems to have got so far, there’s no chance of bitch tits selling up.
-
Aye, it’s a £350m deal going through multiple sets of lawyers, as well as three different ways of doing business (the Emirati way, the British way, and the vomiting into a fire place way). On top of all that they’re also going through numerous bureaucratic bodies, namely ones that make a fucking hash of giving, or rescinding, player bans. As others have said, this lot have been vocal throughout, another key point is we’ve heard nothing from Ashley’s side which is different from the Staveley and Kenyon attempts. As Isegrim mentioned, the establishment of the HoldCo is another positive sign, I get it’s not a huge expense but I don’t see why you’d go through those steps before you were feeling confident of a deal.
-
I guess the only thing to hold onto is how vocal BZG have been in the past. I feel if it was completely dead in the water they would have said something.
-
I mean I know the bloke is a tit but if all of this is true I really don’t get his angle here So he’s going to lose 2/3’s of the strike force that helped keep us in the league (since Ayoze seems pretty intent on leaving), as well as the bloke who drilled a team of very average (at best) players into finishing far higher up the table 2 years running than you could have possibly expected, for what? I mean I know he’s done some daft shite but he’s making similar decisions to ones you would make if you took over Sunderland on FM with the intention of ruining them. Genuinely no idea why he would hold onto NUFC if this is his angle, people can say free advertising all they want but if the offer was of the value it is claimed he’d struggle to make that off a load of hoardings, especially ones shown in the Championship. If all this does happen I’m afraid it’s all time we knocked it on the head lads.
-
There is also a fair possibility that he has no knowledge of what is going on.
-
I’m sure we all would as it generally means you’ve won something else.
-
Threw him in there for the laffles Fair one, it’s a fine reason to not want a manager as he’s going to be the face of the club (one like Jose anyway). It would be worth it to see him take no prisoners on questions about the mackems mind. For player recruitment I think ewerk is right, I think he was blocked from a lot of the players he wanted to sign as Woodward went in for names. I remember seeing somewhere that he wanted Alderwierald in but those above him didn’t want an older player so blocked it. They have made a lot of dreadful signings either way mind
-
We’ll be okay once wor Khaled buys him Skriniar.
-
Harsh on the Charity shield, it was part of Mourinho’s treble at Man U.
-
Potentially, I just think he seems to do best when he’s basically able to dictate what the players do and give them a hard time. Players like Ronaldo, Pogba, Ramos, Lukaku, Kroos, and Phil Jones probably didn’t put up with it for too long. Whereas young Lampard, Terry, Carvalho, and Drogba bought in and got the success which led to them trusting him. Maybe I’m wrong and he’s somehow useless, but I don’t think the last 3 jobs suited him (Man U and Madrid are what they are and the Chelsea culture has become very volatile with a lot of player power). Again I could be simplifying it but I think he’s a brilliant manager and if we had any hope of getting him and Rafa had left I’d have him here in a heartbeat.
