Newcastle United: Club Sold To PCP - Official

I genuinely don’t think the papers have any insight into this tbh. They had no clue about the deal at all until the Company House information was public, now they are claiming to know exactly what the PL are thinking? It’s likely just the Sun jumping on the fact it’s seemingly taking a while (seemingly as it’s so public, I genuinely don’t know if this is taking longer than normal), to make this story and get a bunch of clicks. The story centers on the Saudis being on this watch list, the Sun call it a black list which is different, it also seems from what people on Twitter are saying that the UAE are also on the same watch list, and while the watch list may have occurred after the UAE bought Man City you have to seemingly prove you still meet all of the tests criteria and are compliant each year (based on an article in The Athletic). If that’s the case, if the Saudis fail this then the Man City and Sheffield United owners should face expulsion too. -

Aye seeing a lot of this type of stuff on Twitter. He’s a Saudi journalist apparently. -

It’s been thrown out by some on twitter and even a few of the lads I know have mentioned it. I agree it’s a minority but I just don’t understand the feeling at all, he basically won the lottery getting the job in the first place. -

Aye I don’t get people feeling bad for Bruce at all. He’s turned down the Newcastle job in the past, he took it more for the fact it was his last chance at a premier league club than he did because he’s from the region. He’s going to walk away with a few million for essentially 7 month work in a role he absolutely shouldn’t have been given. -

Nedum Onouha said we should give Bruce a chance . Imagine seriously thinking a group that are paying £300m for the club after failing with multi billion pound bids for Liverpool and Manchester United, are going to come in and allow a bloke whose managerial peak was probably a 10th place finish with the mackems to lead the project. -

It’s almost like you are capable of thinking about NUFC while also taking a moment to take the piss/laugh at them. That’s not possible of course, you’re just obsessively thinking about 3rd tier SAFC while the club you love are being bought by people that plan to compete in the Champions League. -

4 months ago we had Liverpool nailed on to win the title, Steve Bruce as manager, and no real hope of getting rid of Ashley as owner. Now we might see Liverpool’s title voided, a sovereign wealth fund that are planning to overhaul the club buying us, and we’re arguing about if we’d take Pochettino as manager. -

You have to love the mackem saying “We’re the mags entire world” in a 264 page thread solely about NUFC which started on Feb 29th. -
Just watched the Grigg episode it lived up to the hype. They basically bought the bloke because of that song Wigan fans ripped right off the Mitro chant. They said it was crazy money at £1.25m and kept just going up while saying “take it or leave it”, when they got him and Donald went “see I told you we’d get him if you left the negotiating to me” aye unbelievable negotiating skills there The gold just kept going, from the mackem telling Donald that Grigg is the best transfer business they’ve done in years (Grigg is now a 1 goal in 7.5 game striker ), to the fantastic scene where Methven and Donald’s schtick of going on that mackem podcast spectacularly blew up in their face, to the point where Methven has to get on his soapbox and act like it’s ridiculous asking them to publicly review an employees performance - merely a month after he spent a lot of time absolutely laying into three marketing lasses to the documentary being filmed.

Love that this is what Edwards thinks we’d give a flying fuck about. He’s basically waiting to hear when he will have his contract paid up at this point, which would probably net him an undeserved amount close to £2m, can’t say I’ve got any sympathy tbh nor is it the horrible position to be in that Edwards seems to want to paint it as. Again, similar to the posts about Ashley should inform the fans what’s happening, why would people think he’d go out of his way to inform people or be nice . We’ve had 13 years of solid evidence the bloke is an absolute cunt. -
Why does he think we’d give a fuck about his opinion? The little mackem cuckold.
-
I just watched the first episode of season 2, what a treat that was . That Methven is even more of a slimy, unbearable, arrogant prick than I thought he was. I totally forgot about that Juan Satori bloke, he seemed a right bellend as well. The scene of them redoing the seats man what a poxy little club.
-
I do enjoy that they assume he’d try and get them back to the PL even if he was to buy them (he wouldn’t buy them anyway), when in actual fact it’s more likely he’d try and do to them what he did to Rangers.

The bloke literally changed the name of the stadium for no gain to him, you could argue the decision really was for him to make more money but then why did he then set up what was essentially a photo opp where a bloke with a crowbar ripped the name of the stadium off? That’s how much of a massive disrespectful cunt he was to the fans. -
They’re such a financial disaster, and so far down the pecking order that I highly doubt he’d see merit. They all have this idea that they’re some sort of exceptional club that if someone bought them they’d kick on really easily and make a ton of money, in reality they’ve been a train wreck for as long as I know of. They never seem to answer the issue of why someone would buy them and not any one of many of the Championship clubs above them, or even some of their League One compatriots. The sooner they accept where they are and what they are as a club now the better off they will be. Trying to still compare themselves to us, as they’ve been doing, is mad and it’s about to get a hell of a lot more ridiculous. Short essentially gave the club away for free and ‘the Don’ was the only taker, why do they now think there’s a queue of rich consortiums lining up to pay Donald millions for it when they’re in a worse position than when he took over?

Be careful all those things are completely different from our takeover, for reasons none of the journalists will go into but it makes it somehow not hypocritical About the Man City takeover, I was jealous tbh as if it wasn’t for Ashley it would have likely been us. I’m of the same thoughts as Alex, that I’ve thought about the human rights issues far more with regard to our takeover, I can’t really think of discussing the background of the Abu Dhabi lot. I don’t view football as some exception, if they have the ability to freely invest elsewhere then investing in football shouldn’t be off limits. I find it hilarious that we’re now hearing people calling us a ‘community club’ and that this ruins that, did they miss the prior 13 years of some arrogant fat carpet bagger just stomping all over each and every tradition, legend, or hope for the club? They can all do one as far as I’m concerned. -
They really are fantastic local rivals to have. Utter tits. The best part about them is they can never figure out what their rating of us is, we’re either utterly shit, an embarrassment and they love Ashley taking the piss out of us, or we’re this: “Made them financially stable after they were teetering on the brink when he took over. Had them in Europe (and as far as a quarter final I think). Bankrolled Championship winning teams twice when they suffered relegation. Spent shitloads. From memory McLaren had 80m one season. Benitez had 100m plus? Bruce 60m? Appointed fans choice managers on a few occasions (Shearer, Keegan, Benitez). Eventually (it looks like) selling them to new owners making them potentially the richest club in the world. That or we can stick with nice guy Donald. Umb?” Which is them awkwardly trying to say we were good and they would rip Ashley’s hand off to take this, the agenda here being we’re deluded, ungrateful bastards. 13 years of these little scrotes trying to act like they were on the same level as us, and we were all deluded, now we’re on the brink of becoming the richest club in the world, while they’re in League One day dreaming of Mike Ashley taking their club over

So Ashley has taken a non-refundable deposit (which definitely is contingent on them having exclusivity) and signed away the club pending final PL approval, and then agreed to another deal 3 weeks or so into the PL checks? Aye sure he did. The bloke is an arsehole but he’s not going to risk fucking the deal up. -
You know what I find disgusting? Sanctimonious, jumped up, little pricks like you barging their way into a discussion that you have absolutely no part of, telling us what we are thinking about it and then attacking that imagined view point. While there are some knackers that are going to defend Saudi Arabia, the vast majority of fans are simply happy to see the back of Ashley but are conflicted about the new owners. It’s also worth noting that the majority of those you think are defending the Saudis are now doubling down on this to further wind up people like you. It’s being extremely fucking arrogant acting as if you know what we are feeling towards this, then taking the high road and talking down to people. We are a fan base that have had an utter leech as owner for 13 years, we’ve watched every facet of the club we love being torn to pieces. From having past legends of our club treat like shit (see Kevin Keegan suing the club, and Alan Shearer having his name removed from Shearer Bar), to our stadium being renamed to simply kick the fans further after relegation, ambition strangled, terrible football, arsehole managers etc. Then just as news breaks the club might be sold, before fans even have a moment to breathe and take stock of who the potential owners are, an onslaught of wankers like you jumped down the throats of the fan base labeling anyone who is excited about this to be monsters supporting the Saudi regime. That’s exactly how you put people on the defensive and the wind up, which is what happened and you’re now getting offended over it.
-
Took a long time to show he wasn’t actually a Newcastle fan. Imagine being that much of a knacker where you actually sign up to the forum of a club you hate, to try and pretend you’re one of them, and try and make a fucking petition about their potential new owners. A petition for fuck sake . Enjoy league one you rotter, and before you immediately try and claim the imaginary classy club title please remember that your fan base vocally backed a sex predator, and then tormented the victim and her family. Before you push off the ground with your twelve toes jumping up and down in fury at me comparing Johnson to the Saudis, I am not - as I’m not claiming NUFC holds some classy club title as your lot pretend to hold, I’m simply saying your fan base is far from ‘classy’. Laters, lol.

Agree with the above points by KD, also think it highlights in a way that if people are interested in trying to change the house of Saud then allowing them to invest and become involved in western culture is a potential avenue. Shutting them out surely severely hampers the chances of them changing at all, and if anything could make them worse. I’m not going to pretend that that’s my main motivation behind being excited about this takeover, but there’s an argument to be had there. -

He’s pathetic. It would be fantastic to see all this go through, Bein to end up bankrupt as the Saudis beat them out on the next TV rights deal, and the Saudis turn around and sue Keys for his throwing around of accusations as fact. The part that makes me laugh the most about all these journalists suddenly on their high horse, is that if they were successful and the bid was blocked they’d all pat themselves on the back, then immediately start writing articles about how shit we are, and questioning why we sat back and got mullered the next time we played Man City. -

It’s getting absurd now like. I googled it and he’s chairman for the Human Rights Foundation, I get it now from the same angle I get the Amnesty International letter and while I do accept them opposing this do they perform similar actions to every investment the Saudis make? Because if they don’t it’s a bit illogical. I just want to Premier League to fucking hurry up now, they’re allowing it to turn into a circus with all these random groups sticking their oar in. They’re not going to block it, and if they did they’d face a tremendous lawsuit and pressure from the UK government, at this point we’re just risking Newcastle fans making themselves look daft by attacking these groups on social media, and then the media in turn swoops on them. -

Waaaay too late. The only way they would stand a chance is if this one collapsed. It’s made up bullshit imo, it’ll be misinformation from the side that wants to block the Saudi bid in the hope of turning Newcastle fans to that side, since those that would be conflicted would be happier for the deal to fall through if we also still got rid of Ashley.
