Aye that could be the aim like. I’d heard of him but it was only because of him droning on about Manchester City and the CAS appeal, so at least he’s consistent from the standpoint of just wanting everything to suit and protect Manchester United. I do find it funny he pretends he’s simply standing against a Saudi takeover, and it’s not against NUFC fans but then is actively twisting things to try and say we’re all in full support of human rights abuse, and are cringeworthy. -

Could you imagine that turnaround. The press licking their lips that the deal may not happen, to then end up with the deal done and Nagelsmann in as manager. I see Carragher was throwing his “they have to give Bruce a chance” piece out today, I assume when Klopp leaves he’ll be excited for Bruce to get a chance there -

Aye 5 title wins in the Mike Ashley era, think we were in the Championship for a couple of them. -

Potentially aye, the article seems to be more based on a document from a few months back rather than them saying it’s a source passing new info to them (now I’ve actually given them their click). Of course nothing is off the table I was just meaning I’m personally not going to worry about The Sun reading something into a document from a few months ago. I think in general it would be a hard legal argument for the PL to make to block the fund from buying a club on the grounds that they are suspicious there’s a link between the country and a piracy network within the country. If the connection had been proven in a court I would be more worried - as seemingly they have used foreign court rulings in the past (in the case of Cellinio who bought Leeds he was initially blocked due to a foreign court case but even he overturned the PL ruling), but as they beat BeIN in the French case I’m not sure how they would be able to sustain a block on an assumption where the potential buyer had successfully fought a suit over the same issue. -

I agree that’s potentially the case. I think I’d be more worried if it was a more reputable newspaper leading with this than the Sun. Like I mention in my post above I feel it’s a bit suspect legally to block the deal on was are simply assumptions and suspicions. -

This. It would make no business sense for the PL to block this on these piracy grounds. Firstly it’s a really dicy legal stance as it’s merely an accusation, and secondly if they really did have control over it and were to be blocked then you can be sure they would double down on any effort. -

I genuinely don’t think the papers have any insight into this tbh. They had no clue about the deal at all until the Company House information was public, now they are claiming to know exactly what the PL are thinking? It’s likely just the Sun jumping on the fact it’s seemingly taking a while (seemingly as it’s so public, I genuinely don’t know if this is taking longer than normal), to make this story and get a bunch of clicks. The story centers on the Saudis being on this watch list, the Sun call it a black list which is different, it also seems from what people on Twitter are saying that the UAE are also on the same watch list, and while the watch list may have occurred after the UAE bought Man City you have to seemingly prove you still meet all of the tests criteria and are compliant each year (based on an article in The Athletic). If that’s the case, if the Saudis fail this then the Man City and Sheffield United owners should face expulsion too. -

It’s been thrown out by some on twitter and even a few of the lads I know have mentioned it. I agree it’s a minority but I just don’t understand the feeling at all, he basically won the lottery getting the job in the first place. -

Aye I don’t get people feeling bad for Bruce at all. He’s turned down the Newcastle job in the past, he took it more for the fact it was his last chance at a premier league club than he did because he’s from the region. He’s going to walk away with a few million for essentially 7 month work in a role he absolutely shouldn’t have been given. -

Nedum Onouha said we should give Bruce a chance . Imagine seriously thinking a group that are paying £300m for the club after failing with multi billion pound bids for Liverpool and Manchester United, are going to come in and allow a bloke whose managerial peak was probably a 10th place finish with the mackems to lead the project. -

It’s almost like you are capable of thinking about NUFC while also taking a moment to take the piss/laugh at them. That’s not possible of course, you’re just obsessively thinking about 3rd tier SAFC while the club you love are being bought by people that plan to compete in the Champions League. -

4 months ago we had Liverpool nailed on to win the title, Steve Bruce as manager, and no real hope of getting rid of Ashley as owner. Now we might see Liverpool’s title voided, a sovereign wealth fund that are planning to overhaul the club buying us, and we’re arguing about if we’d take Pochettino as manager. -

You have to love the mackem saying “We’re the mags entire world” in a 264 page thread solely about NUFC which started on Feb 29th. -
Just watched the Grigg episode it lived up to the hype. They basically bought the bloke because of that song Wigan fans ripped right off the Mitro chant. They said it was crazy money at £1.25m and kept just going up while saying “take it or leave it”, when they got him and Donald went “see I told you we’d get him if you left the negotiating to me” aye unbelievable negotiating skills there The gold just kept going, from the mackem telling Donald that Grigg is the best transfer business they’ve done in years (Grigg is now a 1 goal in 7.5 game striker ), to the fantastic scene where Methven and Donald’s schtick of going on that mackem podcast spectacularly blew up in their face, to the point where Methven has to get on his soapbox and act like it’s ridiculous asking them to publicly review an employees performance - merely a month after he spent a lot of time absolutely laying into three marketing lasses to the documentary being filmed.

Love that this is what Edwards thinks we’d give a flying fuck about. He’s basically waiting to hear when he will have his contract paid up at this point, which would probably net him an undeserved amount close to £2m, can’t say I’ve got any sympathy tbh nor is it the horrible position to be in that Edwards seems to want to paint it as. Again, similar to the posts about Ashley should inform the fans what’s happening, why would people think he’d go out of his way to inform people or be nice . We’ve had 13 years of solid evidence the bloke is an absolute cunt. -
Why does he think we’d give a fuck about his opinion? The little mackem cuckold.
-
I just watched the first episode of season 2, what a treat that was . That Methven is even more of a slimy, unbearable, arrogant prick than I thought he was. I totally forgot about that Juan Satori bloke, he seemed a right bellend as well. The scene of them redoing the seats man what a poxy little club.
-
I do enjoy that they assume he’d try and get them back to the PL even if he was to buy them (he wouldn’t buy them anyway), when in actual fact it’s more likely he’d try and do to them what he did to Rangers.

The bloke literally changed the name of the stadium for no gain to him, you could argue the decision really was for him to make more money but then why did he then set up what was essentially a photo opp where a bloke with a crowbar ripped the name of the stadium off? That’s how much of a massive disrespectful cunt he was to the fans. -
They’re such a financial disaster, and so far down the pecking order that I highly doubt he’d see merit. They all have this idea that they’re some sort of exceptional club that if someone bought them they’d kick on really easily and make a ton of money, in reality they’ve been a train wreck for as long as I know of. They never seem to answer the issue of why someone would buy them and not any one of many of the Championship clubs above them, or even some of their League One compatriots. The sooner they accept where they are and what they are as a club now the better off they will be. Trying to still compare themselves to us, as they’ve been doing, is mad and it’s about to get a hell of a lot more ridiculous. Short essentially gave the club away for free and ‘the Don’ was the only taker, why do they now think there’s a queue of rich consortiums lining up to pay Donald millions for it when they’re in a worse position than when he took over?
