  1. I saw on Twitter a bloke had bet that Lingard wouldn’t score or get an assist for the whole PL season, the bloke would have won almost £700 from a tenner but then Lingard scored in the 98th minute of the last game.
  2. Yep, more clear, and concise information that the PL will use to make a swift decision when they bother to get to it in a year or so.
  3. I do find it interesting that a lot of the journalists now piggy backing off the Telegraph story are quite keen to frame it as the Saudi Arabians being at fault, or unclear regarding the ownership structure. Would be interesting to see where the leak came from.
  4. Very true. So are Edwards and Burts (who has written numerous articles about how the deal will be complete “in the coming days”) saying the PL essentially don’t believe the people who are subject to the O&D test are the true Officers and directors? If so then that’s a bizzare and frankly impossible bridge to gap, as the bidders point will be that they are. I also don’t understand what difference it makes to the PL which one of the people subject to the O&D test make the “final” decision, if they all clear the test what difference does it make? I admit I’ve not read the article as I don’t pay for the telegraph, but from the quoted bits I’ve seen it doesn’t make much sense.
  5. Agreed, I mean from what I have read about the actual O&D test I don’t see how MBS would fail that anyway (since it’s mostly about having money, not being involved in fraud in football, and never bankrupting a football club before). I’m honestly at the point where I just feel the PL don’t know what to do so are sitting on it and hoping the Saudis pull the plug on the bid.
  6. Agreed, also iirc only one bid can undergo the O&D test at a time so it would make any ‘exclusivity’ fairly meaningless. I also don’t really understand the “not liking the structure”, as you say it’s been there since day 1 so if this is what they’ve been faffing on with for 4 months that’s a complete disgrace. I also don’t see what difference it makes to the PL who has final say if they’re all involved in the O&D test? Unless Edwards point is that they think the decisions would come from outside the Officers/Directors listed, such as MBS? In which case I think it’s pretty farcical to presume the leader of a country would be making day to day decisions for a relatively small asset in his portfolio, he’d leave that to the trusted members who have been appointed as officers and directors by his investment staff. I also don’t really see how that would actually hold up upon rejection? What would the Saudis even be able to do to answer what would essentially just be an incompetent wanker (Masters) simply not believing them?
  7. Luke Edwards article, the bloke wrote a piece about how the bid itself was bullshit because he didn’t understand the Company House filing at the start of this. Not saying it’s not the case and there are others reporting it, I just like to point out what an insufferable helmet that man is.
  8. I’d say it’s a weird thing for him to bring up seeing as they’re definitely worse on that front, but the bloke is clearly a complete moron.
  9. A quick look at his timeline and he’s retweeting anti-mask, and COVID isn’t a big deal I don’t know anyone who has died from it type shite, seems they’ve got another winner lined up.
  10. I still can’t believe this is still ongoing. People can talk about how complicated it is, but four months is more than enough time for them to have made a decision. Agree with the points Fish made regarding the piracy items, there’s not much the Saudis can do other than what has already been done (shut down BeoutQ), the banning of Bein isn’t ideal but it was related to an ongoing appeal case and the issue between the two countries isn’t something the PL is going to be able to solve.
  11. £40 for a kit for a baby, the adult one being £65 is a joke but that’s a complete disgrace.
  12. Aye definitely. You just have to look at how the usual media twerps, like Delaney, were framing it when there were rumors the Saudis were interested in buying Manchester United versus how they reacted to our potential takeover. The PL would have felt nigh on no pressure to wave the deal through, they’d have probably got it through before Bein were able to kick up any fuss.
  13. I think that’s what has caused this delay (or they’re going to act like that now anyway). I think the issue is that selling the rights like they do for the entire MENA region is frankly absurd and if the Saudis want nothing to do with Qatar I don’t see how the PL can force them to do so. Since they also can’t legally tie the Saudis directly to the piracy operation (that has been shut down anyway) I agree there’s not much the PL will have in their pocket from a legal standpoint. I will say though if it truly is the latest Saudi action that they’re now pinning this on then they should just reject it and get ready to be sued to oblivion, as there’s not a fucking hope in hell that they’re going to convince the Saudi Arabians to allow a Qatari network to operate within their country over a £350m deal . The other option is to try to negotiate a break up of the MENA region rights, but it seems the PL aren’t even wanting to try that so they’re going with the outrageous decision to sit on the deal and hope it all goes away. From the SA standpoint, while it’s annoying, I don’t see how it has much impact on them other than delaying their plans this is why I’m wondering when Ashley will kick up a fuss as he’s sort of locked into it with the £17m non-refundable payment, and the fact the deal is agreed pending this review, I’d also read somewhere that only one O&D test can be conducted at a time so any other potential buyer would have to wait.
  14. https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/newcastle-takeover-takes-new-twist-22392460 No new information means it’s time to run the “deals off” type stories. I was saying this is disgraceful weeks ago but it’s absolute insanity that they’re having a club enter the summer transfer window in this position. If they don’t want it through they need to reject it and face the inevitable legal force of the Saudi Arabians. I’m honestly surprised Ashley isn’t kicking off with them at this point as from his perspective he’s sold the club and is done with it, he obviously wants this money that is currently tied up for another purpose. I guess they think they’re fine to just indefinitely hold it up, but at some point they’re being negligent and have a duty of care to the owner and potential owner of a member club.
  15. I know the television studios don’t give a fuck, but the lack of knowledge and amount of ignorant comments the pundits make about the clubs outside of the “Big 6” (or however many of them there are now) is absolutely fucking pathetic.
  16. The pundits just know so much about football. Take Dyer for instance, he literally played in NUFC sides that had higher points tally’s and he still comes out with this fucking gibberish.
  17. I love that they always tag that Geordie dentist. I know people were hanging off everything he said over BZG as they were from the country he lives in, but I can’t see him being an expert on what the Saudis are doing.
  18. The best part of this obsession parts of the media have with Bruce beating Rafas point tally is that if we all suddenly flipped and started saying “aye Brucey is way better than Rafael Benitez and this proves it” we’d be ridiculed relentlessly
  19. He’s too busy getting himself excited at the prospect of the takeover not going through.
  20. One thing is for sure, if Carroll plays CB Luke Edwards will unfortunately be missing the match.
  21. I enjoy the fact that even in his made up story of how he can raise £10m he still has to get a bunch of loans to do it. Would they add the loan payments on that combined £30-40m debt to the £5m a month the club loses? Even in their made up scenarios the end result would still be a shambles .
  22. He’s spot on, the billionaires will be lining up at a chance to buy a 3rd division club that’s bleeding money, there’s definitely not 2 full divisions of better prospects above them.
  23. Yet again they’re getting themselves all excited, he still owns the fucking club. Do they really think whichever idiot he brings in is going to be a mastermind?
  24. Aye all the media pretending everyone should be excited for it. A club of utter cunts.
  25. I love the self righteousness of the mackems. They’re aghast that these carpet bagging cunts have blamed the fans and are seeking to act like they’re a perfect fan base, meanwhile in the Championship down their away record has been better than home iirc, it’s been rumored at different times the players hate playing at home, they abused the family of their owner, they drank every bit of PR nonsense no matter how fucking blatant and even leant into it (see the fuck heads replacing seats, and the record League One attendance attempt). They’re exactly where their fan base deserves to be, and these were the owners that they legitimately asked for and have repeatedly stated they would take this lot over many others (our potential Saudi owners included).
