Spot on, registering 4 keepers in a 25 man squad is simply padding out the squad to back up the claim there’s no space to bring anyone in as there’s no other reason for it.

I’m fairly sure we’ve also registered 4 goalkeepers, and he has registered Matty Longstaff who he doesn’t play or seem to rate. I struggle to believe we couldn’t offload Gillespie or Darlow and loan Matty out to a championship side, I question the level of interest in doing so as this way we use this as an excuse and just don’t bother improving the squad. Most other PL clubs clearly carry unregistered players btw, if we had to carry Matty and Gillespie for 6-12 month while trying to offload in order to improve the team that wouldn’t be a crippling cost ffs. This is the frustration, I don’t mind us being poor but could we at least give the fucking semblance of trying? Having to watch the worst manager in the league make constant fucking excuses on why having a 4th registered keeper who makes maybe £4K a week is what prevents us from improving our side is so fucking tedious. I see no way we stay up this season tbh, I know it’s early doors but as HMHM pointed out we’re playing our best 11 and still offering way less than last year, couple that with the squad clearly being unprepared and lacking fitness. Ashley is such a fucking parasite, if he wants to be a tight cunt and not invest in the squad he can get away with it but to do so he needs to pay a manager that can get something out of a squad, Bruce gets nothing additional out of players in fact I can’t point to a single player who has improved under his tenure.

True, seems a good fit for James who seems to take the Mark Viduka approach of signing a contract and then struggling for fitness until it’s time for a new deal.

Didn’t he only sign for Everton because of Ancelotti and has basically not given a fuck about playing for them since Ancelotti left? I’m not sure why the current state of Newcastle with Steve Bruce would be more attractive for him.

Almiron is a player that needs a system to perform, like most players of the level we have the only exceptions are ASM and Wilson who can make something out nothing, but most our players are rank average players who need some type of system or tactics to perform. Bruce gives them absolutely no fucking plan or platform for them to succeed, the players look lost every week and we basically depend on ASM or someone creating something from fucking nowt to pick up points. I don’t rate Almiron at all but he is capable of doing something at this level.

Expect Bruce to say something along the lines of being hard done by, Callum missed his chance and Ings scored his and we were unlucky not to get the pen. Then some mention about how it’s a good Villa side, when it’s not, and about how there were positives to take. Fucking loser.
