I don’t think the new owners will have massive qualms about just not registering some of these players mind, and I think the threat of being an unregistered player will fire them up to look and accept a move away even if it’s to a championship side. There will be some lazy bastards like Shelvey that might just be happy to loaf about but I don’t think there will be many. It’s also worth noting that many of these players will look a hell of a lot better under an actual football manager which would drive a bit of interest in some of them. I agree though there’s a shit load of deadwood which would become a big issue for many owners but the fact our new owners can afford to just not register ones they don’t want is a separator.

I can’t say I dislike Manchester City any more or less than I did before they were taken over, and even if I did that increase in dislike wouldn’t effect them at all. Most people will just see us become another successful club, they’ll watch our games out of interest but by and large they’ll not care too much and will focus on their own club and their own rivalries. The mackems hark on about our arrogance but come out with absolute fucking twaddle like this where they’re arrogantly thinking they (and we) matter to fans of other clubs, they don’t. The delusion will grow as we will inevitably get mentioned a lot more, there will be an increase in jokes/derision about us on football meme and news pages as the club grows, so I’ve no doubt the mackems will see this as hatred for NUFC and will be in comment sections trying to be friends with everyone , meanwhile the other club fans will continue to laugh at/about us (the club that matter) and not give a flying fuck about them.

I think that’s what they need to remember, they’re football writers, if they want to cross into geo politics their views are not above other peoples, nor are they more clued up on them. Maybe it’s just me but I don’t rate Kalvin Phillips at all. I’d have honestly debated having him here if he was a possibility during Ashley’s reign of terror let alone now. I simply don’t think he’s anywhere near that caliber of player, I can see it in Rice but not Phillips. I agree with KD that I hope we avoid just getting names for the sake of it, I have hesitation over Countinho for that reason (as mad as that is to type out) I just worry we’ve seen nothing from him in close to what? Four years? And he’d command a massive fee + wages because of his name. If we want to make a statement I feel like a big name manager is the move, then sign players like Tarkowski, Ward Prowse, Tielemans etc.
