The Entirely Reasonable Potential Transfers Thread
Howay replied to Ayatollah Hermione's topic in Newcastle Forum
Yeah I think it’s borderline, not saying I’ll give them pelters mind as they’ve made good signings with the rest just this one to me would be one I’d probably not bother with. I agree though maybe him not being that injury prone helps. I’m probably being greedy tbh I’m just tired of watching dross like Ritchie, Manquillo, Dummett etc at full back and he’s a similar level of dross. Like I say if we do loan him I hope I’m wrong he does well and we can get a proper left back in the summer. -

That’s where I’m at, Burn is better than what we have, Woods is better than all bar Wilson. Targett? It’s debatable, I agree maybe because he’s not injury prone but honestly any time I have saw him play he looked shit tbh. Maybe I’m being harsh but I just don’t like the thought of signing him. Andrew is right mind, I can’t grumble too much with a loan but I wouldn’t be a fan of signing him permanently as I wouldn’t even want him as a squad player going forward. -

If true he’s the one player I’m disappointed about signing. Personally don’t think he improves on the left backs we have, I think he’s a poor player. Of course if it was to happen I hope I’m wrong. -

“If anyone here is afraid to play, pass the ball to me because I want to play and win this trophy." You’ll do for me bonny lad.

It’ll be even sweeter when we leapfrog them. -
Reminds me, I wonder if that bloke who calls us “poocastle” still posts on RTG.

Aye you can only register 25 but you can have as many players as you want on the books. That’s why I was never worried about all this deadwood, the new owners will just leave them unregistered and it’s up to them whether they sit about or go and find themselves a new club. -
They’ll never learn eh. Him going in there calling them all shite, and trying to intimidate them is definitely going to work. They’re third in the league man shocking result aside they were where they’d hope to be (delusion of being way above that level aside), they’ve likely just derailed their own season because their owners are so desperate to placate their ridiculous fan base. I hope they never change. Could you imagine if roles were reversed man? Imagine losing 6-0 to Bolton then the next day the mackems spent €50m on a 24 year old Brazilian international while we sacked our manager in knee jerk style.

That’s spot on. He’s like the paggered, jaded uniformed officer the detectives ask to do something.

West Ham have had a bid of £50m for Kalvin Phillips rejected that’s exactly the type of way I hope they keep pissing their money away so we can rapidly make up ground and overtake the repugnant cunts. Turgid player. -

I hope it’s mental. I want all of the reports going, Gemmils ban on Wykiki posting mental itk’s should be revoked. I want sightings of Haaland trying on shoes in JD sports on Northumberland street. -

That’s what amazes me about football mind. Someone at Boro has watched Hendricks play for us and went “he’s what we need”. Was it his ability to misplace a pass from 3 yards under no pressure? Perhaps his look of utter fucking overwhelmed confusion as he received instructions before coming on as a sub, or displaying the positional awareness of a toddler. -

I like that even after someone posted the well wishes of a Brighton fan we’ve just about all come out and called them a bunch of cunts . In stark contrast to the mackems who would be signing up to their forum in droves and telling them they’ve always loved them as a fan base, and then asking if they hate the mags as well. -

I fully agree. The championship seasons were funny in that it opened me up to a lot more clubs to dislike, Brighton, Huddersfield, and Nottingham Forest being the main culprits. -

Aye fuck them. It’s good to see they’re upset by this as it means we’ve got a decent player. How many years did we buy a player to the rejoice of the selling clubs fan base . -

Burn is better than he’s given credit for, he’s not a Botman level player/prospect but he will hit the ground running and he’s a dependable mid table PL player. He’s of a higher standard than Wood imo, who I also liked us bringing in btw. -

Aye Burn is a good quality PL defender, which at the moment we have none of those in the CB position, something is going on with Fernandez and the rest are far too prone to error imo. He’s easily out best CB. While underwhelming compared to the rumoured players he’s still a very good upgrade on what we have. Like KD mentioned he then becomes a squad player if we sign other higher up targets in the summer. Lloyd Kelly would be a good signing to go alongside Burn, one that could potentially grow with the side too. -
This single post shows how fucking brutal Ashley was from completely apathetic about football to googling when the Paris Exchange opens in the hope of our next player announcement, you love to see it.
-
This is what I mean btw, many of them still haven’t accepted the fact they’re a league one side despite this being their fucking fourth year in that league. Even if they did go up they’d likely be favorites to go down as their squad is clearly League One caliber and none of their owners have money available to spend.
-
I also love that they deny their fan base is an issue, every season despite being in and around 3rd they immediately get on the teams back when they have a bit of a bad run the team then nosedives, doesn’t even make the play off final, sacks the manager that got them into the play offs, and then promptly start the cycle the next season.

Aye that’s the one! He’s in the mackems bad books, or bewks
