Newcastle United: Club Sold To PCP - Official
Howay replied to The Mighty Hog's topic in Newcastle Forum
Yeah, that’s how I felt when I saw it at first but he’s been a prime bellend right back so hasn’t covered himself in glory. From what I gathered when people were going through his tweets he’s made similar tweets in the past regarding that topic. The fact he’s asking for NUFC ownership to ‘take action’ after accusing them of being rapists is lunacy. The NUFC probably did end up going further than needed but he made that rod for his own back with a tweet that is not only immensely insensitive to the victim, belittles the incident itself, but is also imo a bit racist - if you are going to accuse our owners of things at least link them to things they have done/are accused of doing, don’t just call them rapists. -

We just need to stay up. Wood was more than happy to join on a 2.5 year deal, he immediately walked in and helped us get 4 points from two games, regardless of how we can project others may have done better in those games we got the points. Morelos isn’t good enough, anyone from the SPL is a risk, players like Boyd, and Miller scored by the hat full up there and we’re shite in the English leagues, similarly players who scored less than them came and did well, it’s a risk we aren’t in a position to take, the bloke is also a walking red card, and at 25 would see it as a good chance to get a nice 4 year deal. Id have taken Mitro but as Fish said we don’t know how much he’d cost, that would mean negotiations, meanwhile Wood had a clause and we could immediately get him in. He’s a complete short term move, they tried to bring in better afterwards and didn’t succeed but he’s better than nothing. If our team can create any fucking chances (which hopefully with the refreshed back line and improvement in CM we will) he will look better as well. -
I wonder if Oldham Athletic fans hound the fuck out Downie’s North West equivalent because they don’t get similar coverage to Manchester United and Manchester City. I get they’re annoyed at where they are but he’s fucking spot on that he’s not the bloke to take it out on. There’s not some secret agenda here and the comments of “that’s it then a Sky employee CONFIRMING only the premier league matters”, take the fucking red and white geps off for a second and look at the coverage other teams in your division and even the division above get. Add in Newcastle spent the most in the Premier League (possibly world football as well?) in this transfer window, it’s honestly not clicking with them why we would receive more of SSN’s attention? Like all jokes aside it’s genuinely insane they expect they’d receive anywhere near the coverage. Even disregarding the entirety of the above, why would they work much around the signing of Defoe? It’s a 40 year old bloke that’s been out of contract for a month or two? It was widely known that he was in discussions with them, and pretty much only them, so SSN are just going to wait for that to be confirmed and report it. One of their reporters isn’t going to trespass in order to film people through windows to get that ‘scoop’.

“Do you think mimicking Michael Jordan coming back is a bit much?” “Nah they’ll lap it up”.
-
They genuinely believe it too man, the bloke is 40 and last played in the PL six seasons ago, do they honestly not see how this is yet another attempt to placate them by their owners? Nah they’ll just lap it up like they always do.

I don’t mind Wood at all, I think if he’s given good service he will score goals or do enough to bring others into the game, my only worry there is the way we play doesn’t really give us much opportunity for that second bit as he’s often so isolated. Hopefully Bruno is the spark in CM that allows us to maintain possession higher up the field in a manner like Cabaye did. Fraser is the one that doesn’t contribute much in that front three. He works hard which is all I can ask if you don’t bring much else, but that’s where Lingard would have really helped. Manchester United’s demands were absurd though and I do agree with others that even though it’s affordable for our lot it was just taking the fucking piss tbh. I’m hopeful we have enough to survive. As I said earlier we’ve basically changed the whole defence and got the exact type of CM we were fucking screaming out for, the combination of that really transforms how effectively we can carry out Howes tactics. I think because we’ve not signed another forward it’s hard to see where the goals come from but I think we will see an uptick in chances created going forward. I’ve heard Howe wants to stick with Lascelles as “he’s the captain” I personally hope that’s not the case as similarly to Clark he’s painfully error prone, but we have to wait and see on that. I was worried earlier in the window but I feel they’ve done well overall, I do feel they got a little caught up on some players and hopefully they’ve learned from that going forward. Not getting another CB is my main concern but they’ve improved 4 of the starting 11 and given us very strong cover/back up for another position, for a tough window to do business in they’ve done well. Really fucking hope we stay up now as the summer will be very interesting if we do. -

Gutted we couldn’t get this done due to his clubs demands. Maybe between him and Bruno it would have been too much balls in one side. They’d have taken up the entire video room when they tried to watch footage of Digne and his microscopic testes playing for Villa. -

We should have enough. Pretty much a new back line. A new CM that can link play, which hopefully leads to more chances. -

Even if it was unfair (which to be crystal clear it absolutely is not) does he think it is less fair than the PL blocking the takeover they eventually went on to allow? If they’d have allowed it when they fucking should have we could have done all this (likely more) last summer and never been in the position of needing to use this, perfectly fucking fair, approach. -

Aye I threw the towel in watching that. That Lianne was brutal enough but then they subbed her off for Paul Merson ffs. -

The reason the West Ham interest is annoying is because Manchester United might not drop their absurd ask in the hope that West Ham go mad and meet it. -

This is the kind of chaos we wanted tbf. The French clubs are always good value for this sort of stuff. I think he’s a summer target they moved up interest in due to the Lingard deal being difficult and west ham supposedly showing interest in Eketike. -

Ekitike has shown his plums haven’t developed yet. Lingard has just slapped his on Ragnicks desk and put a dint in the wood. Get Lingard in. -

Manchester United would be mental to let him go to West Ham as things stand mind. Surely that’s the one situation where it makes more sense them letting him sit? He could strengthen a side that’s directly competing with them. -

What a fantastic analyst Merson is btw, he’s just said Ramsey to Rangers doesn’t make a lot of sense as you have a Scottish team helping him get game time before Wales have to play Scotland. That’s definitely Rangers priority isn’t it Paul -

It’s been a great window, but we really could do with another CB I know it seems greedy to say . Hopefully if this is it Burns and one of our current lot with Bruno shielding them and improved fullbacks will make us look way more solid, but without seeing a couple of games with all these pieces it just feels like we needed 2 CBs. Like I say though cracking window, know nothing about Eketike but I assume he’s amazing and will become the next Henry. -
Remember when they thought the two tossers that bought them using their own parachute payments were miles better to have than the billionaire that spunked fortunes on them? They are a fan base that fucking adored a neo nazi, and proudly backed a nonce, then have the brass neck to call themselves classy compared to us because some drunk idiot punched a horse. Never mind the shameful scenes when they had their day out at wembley and half of Sunderland bathed themselves in Trafalgar Square fountain while what I can only assume is a woman in their world voided her bowels and strutted around starkers in the fountain to the applause of the orc hoard. Despite all this they still genuinely think they’re some fondly thought of, impressive club. They really are the best local rivals you could dream of having mind. Even at our lowest ebb and a second relegation under Ashley they refused to kick on, in fact they started the magic run they’ve been on since, with such classic phrases that bit them on the arse like “cos weeeyah in the premeeahhh leyygue they aren’t”, “if we were playing the likes of Rotherham every weeyk we’d be top of the leyygue as well”, and who can forget “enjoy your trip to Burton”.

Aye, for me it’s just another extension of this delusion they have about being a third division side. They always reel off a list of Championship or even PL level managers every time the vacancy comes up (or they’re hoping it comes up), iirc last time they were saying they should get Chris Wilder ffs. If they don’t get promoted it’ll be their 5th season in the third tier, I don’t understand when they’re going to wake up to the facts and realize they’re not a PL team that’s on a brief stint out the league but will be back soon, it’s very possible they won’t ever be back in the PL. Even if they do go up it’s not like they’ll just fly up the Championship, they’re struggling to keep pace with Wigan and Rotherham who will themselves be among the weakest in the league, they’ll be fucking miles behind sides like Fulham who are themselves miles behind even shit PL sides.
-
Aye that’s not how it works is it? Or wouldn’t every team become class? They’re a shit club that’s ran like shit, they can talk about how they’re a historic English club and the rest of it but the lower leagues are littered with clubs of similar backgrounds, it means nothing when you are a basket case. Their fan base at this point is also completely delusional to the point that their owners have had to pretend another bloke is in charge.

I’m in love. What a bloke man.

Villa won’t ever kick on much more than their current level tbh. Digne clearly didn’t back himself like Bruno does, which is fine but we need players that have balls so massive they can barely run. Not ones with tiny minuscule balls like Digne.- 5278 replies
