  1. Imagine being just this generally angry due to jealousy that you post this years after it happened, on a day NUFC is doing absolutely nothing. That’s without going into how blatantly racist the post is btw.
  2. What the fuck is lenient about his ban? It’s longer than both Trippier and Toney received. Yes there was the possibility of a 3 year ban but howay no fucker is getting that unless it was proven they were fixing games in order to have the bet come in, he was betting on games he didn’t play in. Not sure why they think a complete 10 month worldwide ban from football where he will miss his new club playing CL footy as well as an international tournament for his country is lenient . The “leniency” was because he immediately owned up to it, has agreed to participate in the steps they have demanded which reduced it from 3 years to 10 months it’s fuck all to do with Saudi Arabia. I’m not Neves biggest fan but I really hope we do loan the fucker in January just to watch them lose their minds.
  3. It’s funny that they’ll scream on that we’re obsessed about them, yet they have a lengthy thread outraged about Howe saying he will play Tonali since the ban isn’t active yet immediately after Howe said it. They’re following the Tonali case and all have opinions on it etc, meanwhile I couldn’t tell you who their starting CM is
  4. I mean he’s not banned yet, it’s not a fucking loophole. Again he’s not done some morally reprehensible thing, he’s broke some rules and is facing a ban it’s the same as if someone got a red card, appealed the ban so got to play a game while they reviewed the incident. Why would we basically self impose a ban for games he’s eligible for?
  5. Aye their CEO or whatever had to step down because it was proven they all knew and Johnson had admitted it to them but they carried on protecting and playing him. In any case, one is a nonce and one placed a couple of bets a year ago - why are they equating them like it’s some equal issue? Even if they had stepped in and said we won’t play the bloke he’s a nonce it’s absolutely not the same as playing a bloke ahead of a ban for betting . They’re acting like betting is some horrific thing, he should know better and he’s daft for doing it but there’s no malice or harm done he’s just broke rules, Johnson preyed on a child. Sometimes I think back about whether they really did support Johnson that much but then you read posts like that and it’s clear as fucking day they all did.
  6. Fully agree, it’s this desperation from the media to basically paint us as needing to be “put in our place”. As you say this is a Dortmund side who almost won a title last year and have been largely unbeaten this season, they also have a team of experienced CL players. It was far from a humbling, we held our own even in what was an off game from some of our main players and with injury troubles.
  7. Disappointing, thought we looked a bit off the pace and got unlucky with the Wilson and Gordon chances. Not sure what game the referee was watching mind, what a fucking disaster he was. Joelinton didn’t look fit, Isak was seemingly rushed back too quickly (not for the first time). Trippier was off the boil especially compared to his recent performances. Dortmund are a very good side, and showed a lot of experience throughout imo. Hopefully Murphy and Isak aren’t badly hurt.
  8. Hope is also saying Tonali will be able to train with the club during his ban.
  9. Aye, I can’t imagine he will be really well received by team mates going forward. Not that every player is involved in stuff like this but he’s marked himself as a little grass.
  10. Hope was wanking like mad posting that the negative little creep
  11. Already getting angry at the thought of Tonali not getting banned, a thought they have made up completely unprompted.
  12. Don’t recall calling him shite at any point in this debate. Not sure why you’re so upset about someone highlighting a players limitations and saying Murphy is a better option. He has his pro’s which Gloom highlighted as getting in behind teams and scoring, I was simply arguing against other things people highlight as pro’s to show they’re not actually things he does well (namely our press), and saying he doesn’t offer a lot in terms of build up/chance creation. I even intentionally didn’t put any of Murphy’s stats up because it would be heavily skewed by one good game, I said all summer I wanted us to sign a right winger and I’ve always been consistent in my opinion of him.
  13. Sorry like it’s not nonsense, he creates absolutely nothing, he doesn’t win the ball back I’d say they’re two pretty important areas he should be contributing. The stats I showed back up my argument. Aye he scored good numbers in the first half of last season, the second half he became a bit of a passenger and stifled a lot of our attacks because he doesn’t contribute in the build up of play so if he’s not scoring he’s not helping much. I’m also not having he receives the ball well as some amazing trait, he’s the beneficiary of brilliant passes and again unless that ends with him scoring he generally squanders it. I also don’t agree that he’s had some big turnaround post-Howe like others, his runs have been picked out by better quality passing but he’s still largely the same player aside from his goals.
  14. Apparently the scousers are wound up about this as well. I’ll help him out a bit, Toney played for another 5 or so months while the proceedings were ongoing in the pictured game he was banned, Tonali isn’t suspended yet but soon will be and he will be in the same situation Toney was in here. I mean I also have read the post a couple of times and have no idea what point he’s even trying to make, so showing support for a lad that’s got a gambling addiction, has fucked up, then held his hands up when caught is a terrible thing? I suppose we could all wear t shirts to protest a player being banned after racially abusing a player, or after he bit another player?
  15. I don’t think it’s misleading when my argument has been Murphy is the better option and Almiron offers little outside of his goals (which have dried up over the last year). He’s poor at passing, doesn’t help create anything, doesn’t take players on to relieve pressure, doesn’t recover the ball regularly and rarely in key positions (meaning he isn’t helping the press as you claimed earlier when compared to players like Murphy and Gordon). I personally think it’s misleading to give him so many plaudits for receiving spectacular passes over the top of players. We absolutely should have improved the right wing in the summer instead of buying another left wing player.
  16. Why do they keep saying “you defend his gambling addiction” as if he’s done some completely unforgivable act . I agree he should be punished as he broke the rules but it’s not some egregious act, he allegedly put some money on his team to win a game of football, it’s not like he sexually assaulted a child - that would be a weird thing to support a player through imo.
  17. Nah his goals have just papered over the weaknesses in his game. If he hadn’t went on that purple patch of goal scoring first half of last season he’d not get the backing he does.
  18. I’d say that’s more applicable to your opinion in this area tbh, grabbed some of his stats and it aligns with what I’m seeing from him in games. Outside of scoring he’s not offering much, basically creates nothing for team mates, doesn’t beat his man or pass in a productive way, despite all of his running he doesn’t tackle much or turnover the ball in places that lead to chances.
  19. Nah completely disagree, most of his harrying and chasing results in fuck all compared to players like Gordon, Murphy, Longstaff who actually win the ball back, but because he covers loads of ground people feel the need to act like it does something. He runs around a ton but doesn’t generate turnovers, he consistently breaks down our attacks with his piss poor passing and poor decision making. Of course Howe knows more, he likes Almiron for his running in behind but I still think Murphy offers a lot more to our all round game and our press looks better with him on the pitch, the same way it does when we have Joelinton, Longstaff, and Willock. Almirons run of goals contributes massively to how people view him, his all round game is poor. As I say I’ve no doubt he will play against Dortmund, which is harsh on Murphy but it is what it is maybe it is set up well for Almiron as they may come at us more than some opponents which leaves room in behind, he will probably be generally frustrating but maybe score so it’ll all get forgiven.
  20. Almiron doesn’t contribute massively outside scoring iyam, Murphy showed yesterday what a proper winger can do in our system. Almiron pressures opposition but doesn’t win the ball back enough, whereas Murphy fairly consistently wins the ball back in the oppositions half, and due to Almiron having no right foot whatsoever all he does is turn around and pass back if he’s unable to run at goal. I hope we play Murphy going forward but I have little doubt it’ll be Almiron in the the Dortmund game. I still hope we bring in a right winger in January.
  21. Still at least they have the imaginary sale of one of their players to be excited about.
