Aye, agreed. I was similarly underwhelmed by his appointment but he’s doing a good job so far, and is a really likeable bloke. He’s also clearly knows what a big chance this is for him, as well as us, so he’s working his bollocks off and putting everything into the role. He of course has a long way to go to reach the level of manager for where our owners want the club to be, but the same can be said for the entire club, he’s young and I think he has shown he’s improving (we’re showing more defensive solidarity than his Bournemouth sides). Traditionally recruitment has been the thing leveled at him as a negative, and now seemingly that’s been taken out of his hands to a degree meaning he can focus on coaching. I’d personally love to have a manager grow with the club as we go on to win things, hopefully it’s him.

I would actually feel sorry for them if they hadn’t acted like they have towards us in recent years. This is incredibly bad news for them. It’s proof of what I thought was happening. Donald has basically gutted the club to turn a profit. He bought them using their own parachute payments, so that money which would have given them so much ammunition to go back up was instead funneled into Shorts pocket. He has since sold off small %’s of the club, pocketing whatever money he is given, and they are now left in a situation where they are owned by him, his mate, and two trust fund day trippers - no one having any impetus to invest any money into the club due to the percentages owned. The only thing the club will have to spend going forward is anything generated, meaning, they’re a League One side now, there is nothing in the coffers that will allow them to outspend and nothing coming in from owners. The hilarity is that’s best case scenario, it’s still very possible these chancers will be bleeding the club for what little it can raise (see their point about Youth Players).
