  1. Love that by the ref, Southampton player does that grab the ball thinking he was fouled shite and the ref gives a handball. If we win with Wood and Bruno scoring I look forward to watching Haselbitch’s press conference.
  2. The one who said “this isn’t over as this is the team that have dropped the most points from winning positions in the league”? Not exactly resembling the side that did that are we though? What a fucking goal by Bruno btw. Going from struggling to score goals to having a CM do a back heel volley into the net in one season.

Oh aye, I know they’re allowed to but they only have £16m on hand which won’t last long. Once that dries up what then? Even if they’re allowed to use the revenue from match day concessions to keep paying certain expenses (which I’m not sure they will be) that won’t go far and is dodgy ground if they players and other staff aren’t being paid.

I was just thinking, will they even be able to have attendances at games soon? Stewards are paid by the club I assume, and if so once this £16m of cash on hand they have dries up surely they stewards, and other match day staff stop? Unless of course the match day revenue of the sale of food and drink is allowed to fund those wages? But I thought I remembered seeing those sales went into the pool of frozen assets. What a fucking mess they’re in.
  5. Tweet should have said “Brilliant night sleep under this #Ferrari #sleepingrough #SAFC”
  6. I’d argue they weakened in the window, selling Digne and bringing in an inferior player to replace him and then loaning/buying two players who while ability wise maybe improve them neither looks up for any type of fight nor has much incentive to be. Honestly I think Gemmill was right about them, they look absolutely fucked to me. Burnley will inevitably pick up some points as they churn out draws for fun but Everton look weak as fuck. They play the two bottom sides, but every other game is tough and imo Watford are a bad match up for them since they are decent at scoring goals.

Insanity man. If you say there’d be 40 people going, they genuinely think you couldn’t possible manage travel and one night stay for £500 per person? Piece of piss that, especially given I’m fairly sure the club own buses. Must be a fucking nightmare for those saying that trying to plan a holiday.

I thought the bloke was joking about it not being possible but it seems he’s serious . The club own buses, put the players on a bus and go through the channel tunnel, there’s no fucking way that would cost £20k. Could even book them into cheap as fuck hotels or hostels. Of course they can’t do it in a way the players are accustomed to but it’s ridiculous to say it can’t be done, fucking local youth clubs manage trips away to tournaments in Belgium etc.

I think that’s the way a lot are coming at it. Maybe it should be the way you’re saying, I just have no faith that the government give a shit the way they didn’t give a fuck when clubs like Bury and Macclesfield went out of existence. I’m not saying I’m right in anyway btw, I genuinely don’t know if frozen assets are typically sold as that seems more like a stripping of assets to me - so to me that’s a special exception they’re making to attempt to keep Chelsea alive but as people have pointed out that 1.5b loan might kill that.

Yeah, depends how you look at it. I looked at it from the perspective that the UK Government didn’t do any of this with CFC in mind or forcing a sale, instead they wanted to cease all income generation by Abramovich from the UK by freezing all of his assets to punish him with the issues happening to Chelsea being an unintended consequence. I think that your second paragraph kind of supports the view that the UK governments intention is to do what I’m saying rather than force a sale. I’ve seen Chelsea fans saying they’re bankrupting CFC to force a sale and pocket the proceeds, but who are they forcing in this situation? In that scenario they’re simply reducing any sale price which is surely counter intuitive. I just honestly think none of this was done with CFC in mind, it just so happens they’re one of his assets and people happen to care about them more than say some holding company he set up to run the staff on his yachts.

So people are now saying Abramovich never got round to writing off that £1.5b loan, meaning it makes it even fucking harder to sell the club if it’s actually allowed. Since any sale would basically be an asset strip at this point his incentive to write off that loan would be eliminated, and if eventually his assets are unfrozen he’d be able to demand payment of that loan from CFC, so if that’s all the case anyone that bought Chelsea is doing so with that hanging over the club. It looks like they’re fucked.

They’re conflating things. Be annoyed that football was allowed to get into bed with people like Abramovich, the UK Government wasn’t doing this specifically for Chelsea it’s just an unintended consequence of freezing Abramovich’s assets, frozen companies go bust if the freeze lasts long enough it’s not some fucking conspiracy.

But wouldn’t allowing the frozen asset to carry on generating money defeat the punishment? Since freezing rather than stripping is only meant to be short term if they allow the club to carry on generating money there’s no real punishment to him other than losing control of the asset for the short period it’s frozen. That was my assumption anyway. I’ve had a Chelsea fan twisting on at me all morning, even implying this is some elaborate conspiracy by the UK government to gain money from the sale . The UK government is a lot of things but I don’t think they were all that arsed about getting whatever proceeds they’d receive from this, it’s either the normal function under a sale of a frozen asset or they’re allowing a special sale due to the meaning of a football club do that it stays operational, in which case where else would the money go? It cant go back to Chelsea otherwise the sale was essentially for £0. I’ve not even seen anywhere that they will allow a sale mind let alone that they’re getting the money so there’s a chance he’s making all that up because he’s being hysterical.
  14. Tell you what, how fucking class is it that Howe is doing such a demolition job on the PL that this thread, once reserved for bed wetting and filling of kegs, is now used for laughing at Evertons hopes of survival and arguing about xG. Just need to batter Hassenbitch and his gaggle of losers and we will be miles clear of the rubble.
  15. That’s even more evidence against the whole “he’s a really nice bloke” narrative. On a totally unrelated note I really want to buy a Jag now.
  16. Tremendous Is this the genuine cover? It almost makes me want to read it to find out why it has the maddest cover in the history of books. The computer generated bloke next to Bruce looks equally confused by it.
  17. He drew with the Steve Bruce coached version of Newcastle . His argument makes fuck all sense regardless, but if he wants to go down the “it’s sooooo unfair” path is it not more unfair that his team would have got to have played us twice before January, whereas most others had one game before and one post? If any team could have complaint it would be Everton since they have to play us twice post January window.
  18. Bit arrogant of those losers seeing us as rivals. They’ll be kicking rocks in mid table as Eddie’s boys set about the European chasers. Isn’t this type of clause fairly hard to enforce? Especially given the scarcity of positions for this type of role and the fact his former employer is basically blanket banning him from any job of that type in the UK (since any roles that they may allow him to take in lower leagues or the SPL would no doubt come with a large pay decrease). Surely that’s seen as an unenforceable clause? Of course that being said we could be trying to be nice to Brighton as Andrew said, but they can fuck right off seeing as they were in the block the Saudis and their sponsorships crew.
  19. Aye, I can’t see them beating us or Wolves tbh. We will possibly have Bruno and ASM starting, both desperate to get into a side which has been winning every fucking game (the latter who absolutely ripped them to bits last time). They could draw those games but I don’t know how anyone could possibly predict Everton winning any fixture given their record. I said the same about us until we started looking good, no matter the opposition how can you predict a win for a team that have won 1 game under that manager? Let alone against one of the form sides in the league and the other is chasing Europe.
  20. Lampard can’t organize a defence, he had all the pieces at Chelsea and they conceded goals for fun. As you say now they have poor players in defence, it’s really not the type of manger they needed - it was a bizarre choice as he was always going to be a gamble. They currently have Jonjoe Kenny, recently returned from loan at Celtic and is a workmanlike player, Nathan Patterson, recently bought from Rangers and is basically just a prospect, Mason Holgate, , Michael Keane, they bought the wrong Burnley CB, Yerry Mina, strong CB if a little hot headed and inconsistent, Mykolenko, new full back who Lampard doesn’t seem to rate, Ben Godfrey, Championship defender, Coleman, good player clearly in his twilight years (also how have they spent 500m and not brought in someone that genuinely competes with him?), Jarrad Braithwaite, another prospect. I know people say they have too much quality to go down but honestly looking at that defence they have hardly any talent there, Mina is good and Keane is serviceable but the latter is out of any sort of form. Layer in the above point that Lampard had a defence like Chelsea’s looking leaky as fuck and they’re in real fucking trouble. Someone else is going to have to step up and finish mid table. What will the Premier League do without their [placeholder since they have no identifiable way of playing] style of football?
  21. It’s just a good thing they brought in Alli and Van De Beek, two lads who have really looked up for the relegation fight.
  22. Agree 100%. There’s no way back for any of them, I’ve got zero time for any of those mentioned. They’ll be desperate to get involved and be seen in a similar way to many of the old Man City players are seen but nah. Trotted out fucking tired stereotypes for years like deluded Geordie’s etc, lauded how clubs like Everton and Aston Villa are massive and we are a waste of time. Apparently Bilic started that little piece off by saying how he doesn’t like Newcastle, these people genuinely think we give a fuck. Who cares what Bilic says? Stop talking about us then, but they can’t the same way as they couldn’t for the prior 14 years.
