  1. This whole fume about Howe taking a striker off for a defender, I get that it’s negative but there’s something to be said for avoiding a 7-1 or worse score line as we absolutely were not coming back. Is it what I would have liked Howe to do? Maybe not but then again it’s not like we have talent on the bench. Oh aye, for her little distance question I’ll be going to a couple of matches when I’m home in the summer so that’s a 6,756 mile round trip for me. Would that allow me to have an opinion per Holly . It’s this weird sort of entitled soopafan/wannabe podcaster type that’s bizarre. People like her and Pearson come out with absolute fucking tripe then when anyone says you’re talking shite they immediately scream on about how they’re a soopafan and know way more.
  2. Aye, I’ve tried but the missed sitter against Everton and then the fuck up I mentioned there at 2-1 potentially cost us points.
  3. I think Howe will light them up after that. Hopefully Shelvey is dropped for Bruno, I agree on dropping ASM I honestly think we are a better functioning side without him - he obviously has the occasional moment in his back pocket but he’s a real liability at times and isn’t learning. Honestly would play Krafth over Manquillo as well. Shame we have no viable alternative to Burn and Schar as each of them deserve dropped after that mare. Helps we are at home for the next 3. Had a lot of away games in a row there.
  4. How shit is Chris Wood btw . I think it was Fraser who had beat his man, was running into the box and clearly shaped up to pass it along the ground to Wood, instead of running ball side of the stagnant CB he fucking ran far side . That was about 2 minutes before the Spurs 3rd iirc.
  5. Yup, they completely gave up after the second. The Spurs players were all in 20 yard of space while Schar and Burn were nowhere to be seen. For a lot of them they just relapsed into that lazy, apathetic mode from the Bruce days.
  6. This is why I don’t want them. I know we will have some as it’s not feasible to replace the entire squad but they’ve got this in them, their heads drop and they give up. Maybe I’m a harsh person but I’m just sick to the back teeth of watching players like Jonjo fucking Shelvey, just players that aren’t bothered about getting a hiding like this whereas someone like Trippier would be fucking seething.
  7. That was absolutely pathetic. In a point that a few of us discussed in another thread, I think that’s three Spurs goals that started with ASM losing the ball by pissing about.
  8. Joelinton went on holiday for some of it, might be being harsh but it showed today I thought he was dreadful despite me rating him.
  9. Absolutely dross, could see the mentality shift from most back to their loser mentality once the second went in. Think it’s a wake up call for many in our support who have overrated a lot of these players. Ends the argument of playing the Willock Joelinton and Shelvey midfield 3 in favor of playing our best player, all three have been absolutely shocking today. Not meaning to insult our lot btw, they’ve done well to steer us pretty much clear of relegation - I’m just personally tired of seeing people (mainly on Twitter) going on like Shelvey, Manquillo, Fraser etc will be viable players as starters in future. Bring on the end of the season.
  10. It’s almost as if coming out and absolutely slating your own players for losing a cup game you shouldn’t be arsed about after finally winning a game maybe wasn’t the best move
  11. They really are the football club equivalent of a shart. The fucking plight of that first page of topics. A match thread about playing Gillingham, Danger(to everyone)mows posing the question of who was better Pascal Chimbonda or Phil Bardsley, and a thread about how they booed the team onto the pitch. The paedo worshippers will get really restless when someone pips them to 6th.
  12. Honestly can’t wait until the summer window so we can start buying good players so people stop posting drivel like this. The bloke has 11 goals, 5 of them pens with 5 of the goals (3 of which were pens) coming against the bottom two sides in 2 straight games. Not to mention he gets in a right mood about us, and went on about how shit Brentford are to anyone who would listen .
  13. Agree with all of the above, he’s a very talented player and I like watching him play but even Howe’s comments about how he is trying not to overcoach him leans into what Craig and ewerk mention. I know some will point out that he’s a mercurial talent and you have carry that, I agree with that for where we were but for where we are heading you can get players that are brilliant in possession dribbling past players with ease but also are able to function in a well drilled, disciplined set up. As Andrew says we don’t really have to worry with our owners, if we sold him we would bring someone in for equal or more than we sold him for.
  14. “Not yet lads, need a double figure gap before the start of our come back, can’t be letting that fat cunt Frank or that Sherman tank Marsch only have a single figure lead”
  15. We will play dirge football through the group, it’ll be hailed as professional. Probably beat Senegal or whoever it is we play the first KO round. Then go out to France in the QF in a game that’ll be similar to the Croatia and Italy losses, Southgate will focus on stifling any opposition rather than playing our own game. His defenders will waffle on about how he’s done far more than any recent England manager, while it’s a fair thing to say with regard to people calling him shit it doesn’t make him beyond criticism imo. He’s been brilliant overall, and I think he deserves a ton of credit especially for the culture he’s created in the squad, I still think he’s too cautious especially in key games. Obviously I hope he proves me massively wrong. I can’t look past France or Brazil for this tournament tbh. If France turn up they’re the best squad in international football, and Brazil have been excellent for a while now.
  16. Qatar aren’t the opening game anymore apparently they wanted to play in the “prime” 7pm spot, so Netherlands v Senegal is the opener. Then England v Iran, before everyone in the world breaks for food etc, while Qatar and Ecuador play, so they can come back for USA v Scotland/Wales/Ukraine.
  17. Aye, it would take an Abramovich type scenario to take the club off them and I think as someone mentioned it would be even harder to do given the way the deal was structured. There couldn’t be any retrospective judgement in cases like ours and Man City as you say, especially if it was for the reasons everyone suddenly desires because there’s no legal structure in place in the UK preventing Saudi from investing (we know the Govt are actively encouraging the opposite as well), so some bureaucratic body with very limited purview wouldn’t be able to even attempt to remove them from ownership without getting sued to fuck. As you say any increase in these types of powers just impacts potential owners. Even then it’s questionable how much they’d even be able to prevent most owners anyway, iirc they rejected one of Leeds recent owners due to charges in Italy about his finances but he appealed the charge and then sued the EFL saying he still wasn’t guilty and they had to allow him ownership, he went on to lose the appeal but by that point he was owner. To be honest, I’m not sure it makes any difference anyway - the reason our ownership kicked up such a fuss is our lot are the end game of this, so preventing less rich owners taking over, or allowing them won’t impact the impending UAE and Saudi domination of the league.
  18. What a total prick Glendenning is
  19. Howay

    Eddie Howe

Sorry to hear that Strawb, as others say I hope it went as well as those things can go.
  20. Sure Miguel, doing a really good job of holding them to task so far. He also is posting pictures about how good everything looks, but yeah something about it being important they can’t sportswash is his reason for being there.
  21. Again, the majority of Newcastle United fans don’t defend Saudi Arabia in any way, shape, or form. They’re welcome to keep getting wound up about Saudi Arabia but their anger and name changes are meaningless. They really should leave the paedo stuff alone mind. A whole stadium of their fans loudly chanted support for one.
  22. The car thing, it was brilliant how much he went on about that car.
  23. For fuck sake . Still, I’m sure Bruce didn’t sweep the NUFC manager of the month award during his tenure.
