Colin Mcrae killed in helicopter crash
Jill replied to Dr Kenneth Noisewater's topic in General Chat
I was just reading this in the Mail on Sunday (yeah, I know). Horrible tragedy - RIP. -
This has made my day. And back to the topic in hand, I really hope this horrible mess gets sorted soon.

Marvellous.

I reckon I'm gonna have to set aside a night a week to just sit down and do the work, and try and stick to that. It'll never happen though, especially as the first one I'll be doing is going to be mega boring.
-
I'm gonna have to do distance learning (not Open University though) for the next two years and I can see it going tits up in my face. I'm not worried about not understanding the stuff, it's just actually sitting down and motivating myself to study after a day at work.

As with any degree course I would imagine what you put in is what you get out. Haven't really known many people who've used the OU though my A-Level Psychology teacher had done her degree that way later in life and seemed to place it in pretty high regard..

Awful, awful news this. And very sobering to think he was the same age as me.

V was a bit good like. The lineup was poor IMO but the banter was spot on, had a great time. Wish I was off to Leeds as well as the lineup there is much better but £££ weren't permitting...

Great move for him in a season where he's not likely to get much of a look in.

Bit hit and miss for me in recent series. The first 3 I really enjoyed, since then it's nowhere near as funny.

Allardyce: foreigners better value for money

Great read that. He's clearly got an air of positivity and confidence in his methods and knows exactly what he wants and how to get it, which is precisely what we need. -
A nice refreshing change.

What would you do if you encountered a burglar in your home ?
Jill replied to Jimbo's topic in General Chat
As my mam is in a wheelchair I'd do what I could to protect her and myself as otherwise we'd be a bit screwed. I don't keep anything that could remotely be described as a 'weapon' handy but I'm fairly certain that if the need arose I could grab whatever was around me to try and scare a burglar off. Not sure anyone in their right mind would flinch at the sight of me wielding a random object though. -
Thought it was average at best. Not a huge Simpsons fan but there were some funny moments. Everyone else seemed to laugh hysterically at things that weren't the slightest bit funny though and it was far too predictable.

I just came in here to say "fuck all" too. Sorry Mr. Face. Wasn't going to say owt, but everyone should count what blessings they have. I know this is meant to be a positive thread but my brothers 29 year old partner passed away today. 4 months after the birth of their son. Totally gutted. The Happy Face is stuggling to stay that way. She had a serious Brain tumour last year, beat it, had the most gorgeous bairn and then succumbed to bowel cancer. 29 is no age. That's horrific, really sorry to hear it.

Just bought tickets for this. I'm sitting in the Gallowgate for a change, instead of my normal seat. Looking forward to it.

Ugh, this week needs to be over. Far too much work has been done. Still for once Friday afternoon isn't looking too hideous, got my 2 cans of red bull in to get me through.

I'd sub him at half time, because this is NUFC and you know if he continues playing like this he will get injured 2nd half!!! Haha I was just going to say that. It'll blatantly happen. Seriously speaking, this is a positive start for Luque.. long may it continue. Apparently Geremi has looked good too.

I heard that Dyer was on the team bus on his mobile to his agent immediately after the Carlisle game. My source is the brother of a chef who heard it from one of the new dietician types. Apparently the same day he also lost a massive bet on the golf or something and he was in the process of trying to put another bet on to win the money back when the bus driver moved the bus forward a bit to get the rest of the team and he lost the signal on his phone. Bound to be a sack of shit all round, but I giggled..

Aye, it's a bit weird this smart card malarky. Still I got that little exciting feeling when I saw the big brown envelope as I opened the door. I'm missing the first home game which is a shame but I'll send an 'agent' to see how it pans out and judge how early I need to turn up for the next game. Bit of a pisser that you can only use certain turnstyles, though it has given me 4 or 5 ones I can use. It's also knocked certain people off my 'lend ticket to' list because they can't be trusted..
