Hi, I'm drinking Pinot Grigio at midnight on Tuesday
Jill replied to Gene_Clark's topic in General Chat
Some Pinot Grigio / Pinot Gris is really nice but I think it's just most British drinkers like bland shite so that's what most of the stuff you get here is (same reason Carling, Fosters etc is so popular). i just recently discovered dry reisling. like a lot of brits, i naively thought all reislings were sweet and nasty but it's actually an absolutley lush grape. really minerally and crisp with some citrus fruits in there. about £10 a bottle for a good one mind so not cheap but well worth trying if you haven't already. Various Australian dry rieslings are some of my favourite wines, found some pretty nice ones from the likes of Oddbins for around £10. Goes lovely with a Chinese too. -
I watched the first episode of that and it was terrible. Not funny at all.

In town but only cos I live here. Bath and pyjamas on in a bit for me.

I went to the max speed on the treadmill once which was about 12mph and I nearly died.

Works for me. I hate that stretch between August & Christmas.

I used to go to Promise at Foundation as well as a few other nights regularly in my trance days. There were always plenty of afterparties going on so it usually turned into a weekend-long thing. Struggle to even have a few drinks two nights running these days.
-
Why not? I'd probably weigh myself every day if they were just sitting there and I don't want to do that.
-
I didn't want to buy any scales. It's always empty when I go in apart from a few people chatting to the lass there.
-
Ah the Weigh House. I was in there this morning too. Got months worth of those little ticket things. Aye I told her not to tell me if it was over 15 7, she reminds me of Dennis' sister off AWP. It's goin up to 30p, 30p to stand on some scales. The posters about that went up a few weeks back then disappeared for a bit. When she put them back up she said all the old dears had kicked right off about the price increase so they'd had a rethink then decided to continue.

Currently gym 4-5 times a week plus a walk or two. As it gets nicer I'll be getting back into running a few times a week and I'd also like to do some longer walks/hikes. Also just joined a netball team at work which is apparently quite a relaxed thing but will be something different to look forward to.

I've joined the work netball team.

10-8 today. It's still coming off, but it's sloooooww now, which I expected.
-
Making bolognese tonight. Will probably have the leftovers tomorrow and don't fancy pasta 2 nights running so may just have it with a bit of veg tonight.
-
Really looking forward to the gym tonight. It's been getting a little quieter the last week or so, must be a few failed resolutions already.

Not just me then. Wine is amazing. -
Rob only lost 1lb since he left the house (I read that elsewhere, I'm assuming it's true) and did you see the size of his face?! Proper fat. There's no way he'd bulked up with a load of muscle. Probably just started drinking with the rugby lads again.

Aye. Love how there's a Biggest Loser meal replacement range as well, top healthy living. That massive woman has trained to be an aerobics instructor so it's obviously done some good like.
-
really don't see why people watch shite like this, apart from the women [nowt personal or sexist Jill] they are woman's shows. They're awesome. I've been losing weight myself which is the only reason I've taken an interest, usually I'd give this sort of thing a miss. Sponsored by Subway's low fat range, Alex.

Paddy was the only one who looked like he'd never been fat for a day in his life. Some of the others had done really well too mind.

It wasn't too bad last night actually. The food was alright (better than the banquet) and the entertainment was cheesy, but one of those things you just have to go along with. Plus the meal was nicely spaced out so you didn't feel rushed and the evening went by quite quickly. The only problem really was one table which were talking through the whole thing and had to be told to shut up a few times, but they all fucked off (god knows where to) after the main course. I guessed the murderer right but didn't win.. my mate sitting next to me did.

Feel like a right fatty today. Went to the gym on Friday night but ususally go either Saturday or Sunday and not doing either. Walking round the metro centre is the best exercise I'll get today. Plus I had a 3 course meal last night and a fair bit of alcohol on Friday night. Start again Monday, etc.

The 'Murder Dinner'. Been to one of those banquets before and it was a nightmare, trying to eat salad with a dagger ffs. Menu doesn't sound too great for tonight (Northumbrian broth, chicken & veg, profiteroles) so I'm hoping the murder mystery aspect will be canny.
