  1. Hope she's ok. My mam had chest pains once which turned out to be a pulmonary embolism, was probably the scariest thing that I've ever experienced. Bloody mothers though, mine didn't want a fuss either. I'm in a canny mood. Got a quietish weekend planned until Sunday when I'm out all day for a friend's 21st. Looking forward to a quieter one as I seem to have had quite a few things on over the last few weeks and work has been hellish too.
  2. Not had a ringtone for 8 or 9 years. Always just have it on silent or vibrate. I love it when someone's phone goes off with a proper embarrassing ringtone and you can see them scrabbling around desperately looking for it.
  3. Work in an office & voted 'resigned to it' which is probably a bit negative but I've hated it for ages. I'd like to find something else, but being realistic my job is pretty secure so it would be madness to move just for the sake of it.
  4. Just spied the smoke from the back of the office. Got a funny look for coming out with "oh aye, people on the internet mentioned something about a fire"
  5. Someone on N-O said there was a fire down by Gateshead Stadium.

Sorry to hear that - RIP. Sounds an awful way to go. It's really sobering when it's someone your age. A lad I went to school with died on holiday when we were 18 and I thought it was terrible, and that was without being a particularly close friend of his. Someone else I went to school with died last week and again it was such a shock just for the fact it was sudden and she was only my age.
  7. When I played for the school rounders team I always used to step up with the bat in my left hand so you'd get the old "LEFTY!" cries and all the fielders would move round, then at the last minute switch it to my right hand and hit it into the huge gap they'd all left. I was constantly amazed at how often it worked. I'm right handed but can write quite well with my left and always use the computer mouse with my left as well, to the point where I struggle with my right. I also discovered the other week that I've been using a tin opener with my left hand for years when I bought a new one with the twisty bit on the right and was totally confused by it.
  8. Playing 2 games of netball tonight back to back for my work team and a random team. Going to be fucking humiliated.
  9. Aye I've been as well. Didn't think I'd like it because I have really ticklish feet and hate them being touched. It was a bit weird at first but quite nice after a bit. I didn't like it when they went between my toes though, that was creepy. I only went for 15 minutes, I'd go back again though. My feet felt really nice and soft afterwards and they tingled for a few hours too.
  10. Been the same for the last 3 weigh-ins so I think I've reached the end of my diet and a comfortable weight. 3½ stone off in total. Next up: Great North Run training. Oh fuck.
  11. It's really slow for me when all other sites are fine. Few times lately I've clicked on a thread, waited a bit then just given up and browsed somewhere else as it takes ages to load.
  12. What a desperate place the boat was. Used it hate it when we'd tried getting in everywhere underage and it was the only place left. It absolutely fucking stank.
  13. Craig's version would've been lush. I much prefer it in these pictures to the recent leaked version but that may just be because it's grown on me overall. Still won't be buying it though. I'm looking forward to an orange away kit but they'll probably fuck it right up.
  14. I'll be watching. Looking forward to it.
  15. The pool cleaner disappointed me kept hoping it'd go on a rampage Really disappointed with PA2, which I watched last night. Thought there was a bit too much of the 'build up' stuff but not a lot really happened. Plus the main guy in it was a pain in the arse (and why did they seem so reluctant to actually watch any of the footage..?!) Saw Scre4m as well the other day, thought it was ok. Bit boring at the start but improved when they got down to the rules and shit. Insidious is next on the list.
  16. A few days on the drink and I feel sluggish as hell. I'm pleased I don't drink as much these days.
  17. Everyone's at work, the bastards. Wish I had a garden.
  18. I'm having one of those days off where it's nice and sunny outside but I can't think of anything to do to enjoy it.

You'll have an amazing time, it's 6 months since I was there and I can't wait to go back. Even just walking around the hotels is brilliant as there's so much going on. You'll have no bother getting plenty of free drink while sitting at tables - I'm not much of a gambler so didn't think I'd be around long enough but still managed to get plenty free stuff. I didn't go to any shows as it's not really my scene but loads came highly rated from people I spoke to. Eat as much as you can physically manage - I did and walked it all off just wandering along the Strip. Some of the food available in the buffets was beautiful, and I'm not usually a fan of buffets. Hash House A Go Go, as seen on Man V Food, was lovely too. Enjoy.
  20. I went on the 'Quay to Sea' one the other year. It was a canny way to spend a few hours, would recommend it.
  21. Had a great few days at the gym, I can't believe how much more energy I have for staying off the drink for a few weeks. Usually my workouts at the beginning of the week can feel a little sluggish but had none of that recently. I've enjoyed losing weight so much I'll almost be a tiny bit disappointed to hit my goal weight and have to maintain a steady weight.
  22. My work will be closed anyway, but I certainly wouldn't go in. I lap up free days off.

Chicken & mushroom. I also like steak or steak & kidney. Can't really get excited about mince pie.
  24. Will by avoiding it as much as possible as my sister's getting married the following day and I really can't fake interest in 2 weddings in 2 days. I'll enjoy the day off though.
