Alive, well and frequently found roaming Wallsend with an excitable canine friend.

Don't Cry by Beverly Barton. I'm only a few chapters in but it seems quite good so far, without being a real pageturner.

I'm in a great mood. I've had a nice weekend so far and I'll be meeting one of my mam's cousins later who's visiting from Australia. Quite looking forward to it as I've not met much of my mam's family at all, since a lot of them live far away. On the downside, I did a kettlebell workout yesterday morning and every muscle in my body is currently screaming at me. Ow.

I like the Blacksmiths, proper old man boozer. In a canny mood, looking forward to the weekend ahead. It helps that I just scoffed a load of frozen yoghurt, that always makes me happy.

Sounds nice in theory, but can't be arsed with owt that takes more than a token bit of effort. I make my lunch for the next day while making my tea each evening so just have stuff that can be hoyed together quickly. I realise this sounds ridiculous when the recipe contains 2 steps. I don't like peanut butter anyway mind.

As it's now being shown from the start on one of the channels, I've started watching this. Only watched the first 2 episodes so far with another one on the planner to watch, but not sure if it's for me so far. Seems really slow moving, which isn't my thing. I don't necessarily dislike it, I just don't tend to enjoy shows that go on for ages without much happening. Is it worth persevering with? If it continues at this same rate I might just bow out, but if anything starts happening in the next few episodes I'll keep on with it.

Thought they were class on Friday, really enjoyed it.

Had the Thai red curry (chicken) with rice and it was absolutely spot on. Lovely little kick, would probably ask for it hotter next time though as I love my food spicy. There were loads of other things I wanted to try. The others had a range of things - various curries, chicken kiev, lamb shank and one chicken dinner. The only thing which wasn't rated was the Sunday dinner, unsurprisingly, which was a pretty poor pub effort. Couldn't fault the meal I had though. My only criticism was that the service wasn't great - they were nice and polite but didn't bother bringing us any cutlery for our main course until we asked, so we had our food but couldn't eat it. Just seemed a bit amateur really. On finding out it was my birthday though, the chef came out to speak to us about the food and gave me a bottle of wine to bring home with me, which was a lovely touch. I'll definitely be going back.

Cheers all. England did their best to ruin it, but still had a lovely day.

Got a strong feeling I know who that was.

Canny mood. I'm easily pleased: Asda pizza followed by a double decker for tea and 2 litres of Pepsi Max in the fridge. Might have a hot chocolate later.

I thought Las Iguanas was ok but I think that's more desperation on my part, as I love Mexican (and similar) food but there's hardly anywhere to get it. Trying the Wheatsheaf (Benton) tomorrow. They're a Thai/English restaurant now and had a small taste of some of their curry last weekend which was pretty nice. I reckon everyone else will just bottle it and order a Sunday dinner though. Hope it's canny as I love Thai food.

Card and a few bottles of Brown Ale in the pub tomorrow, nice and straightforward.

Super busy at work and trying not to stress about it but not really succeeding. Came in earlier (which I don't get paid for) so deliberately trying to have my full lunch hour but it's easier said than done with phones, emails and colleagues buzzing all round me. Can't wait to fuck it all off at 5pm and go watch the Euros then enjoy the rest of the weekend before re-entering the shitstorm on Monday.

That's actually a little reassuring, her voice annoys the hell out of me.

Apparently I sound like Sarah Millican.

This. I've become loads better over the years at work for asking for advice. Used to always try and figure it out myself, now when I'm far more experienced it seems rather daft but I'm much more able to accept I don't know and ask someone who I think does. In terms of personal life/problems there are only certain people I'd trust, and even then I might just go with my own gut instinct.

Write mostly with my right hand, use computer mouse with my left (and buttons switched too). Generally quite ambidextrous, can write with both and do use my left for making quick notes if it's nearest the pen.

Was hoping to complete our house purchase today and it's not happening because the seller's a fanny, so I'm pretty disappointed. Also I feel surprisingly calm considering our tenancy runs out on Monday so we NEED to complete then. Thankfully there's loads to keep me busy at work so I can't stress about it too much.
