I've recently got into using kettlebells and been really enjoying them. I didn't expect it to be such a good workout, but I'm always knackered afterwards and it doesn't even have to be that long a session. I've borrowed a couple of DVDs from a friend which I'm looking forward to trying. Until now I've just been browsing Youtube and trying to get form right on the exercises I've been doing so far. I really need to get an exercise mat though for use with some of them.

I looked into that fasting thing as I know a few trying it and it sounded vaguely interesting, but I don't think I could manage it at all. Eating little and often with the occasional weekend binge and plenty exercise works perfectly for me so I'm sticking to that.

Thanks everyone. They're sorted now. Guyzance Hall, apparently. They managed to view a few places, I was surprised at there still being availability at some of ones I would've thought obvious. Apparently she's going to be on BBC Radio Newcastle tomorrow morning as well.

Think they've tried those but will check, cheers.

My stepsister is meant to be getting married on 25th August and their venue has gone into liquidation so they need somewhere for both ceremony and reception. Needless to say, we're all a bit panicked. Northumberland area btw, if anyone has any suggestions. Tried most of the obvious ones and they've a few places to go and view but other ideas always welcome.

Some of the gymnastics is weirdly mesmerising.

Mother in law's coming round tomorrow and I can NOT be arsed to tidy the place up. Tempted to just not bother because it'll not meet her standards anyway, and this way I can just loaf and watch excessive amounts of sport all day.

I wish I'd taken more time off work to watch the Olympics. The internet here is utterly shite for streaming.

The bloke it likened me to apparently weighs 8st 14lbs. EDIT - my spelling is shit today.

I've never bothered with cycling before but really enjoyed the last bit of the road race that I've seen. Shame it's not happening for GB.

Handball's such a weird sport, reckon it'd be quite fun to play though.

I was out so didn't see any of the opening ceremony. Sounds like it was impressive though. I'm not sure I'll bother now as the moment has passed. So far this morning I've caught some basketball, badminton and rowing. Love just browsing through sports I don't normally bother with.

Got tickets for some of the football at SJP, including one of the womens games which I applied for in a moment of madness! I'm quite looking forward to the whole thing though, I've not been arsed about the torch relay and all that but I do love watching athletics and will also be interested in the football and basketball. My mate's working down there and says the opening ceremony is incredible.

Pretty concerned that it's about 8 weeks until the Great North Run and I can't run for shit.

Need suggestions for tomorrow night. I'm thinking along the lines of chilli, curry or pasta bake, i.e. something that's not too much hassle and will leave leftovers for Sunday. I'm not feeling very inspired though. Might just be lazy and order an Indians.

There was a definite dip, which was a shame but I still enjoyed it even through that.

Aye, that's up next. We've only got 2-3 episodes left I think, fully gutted.

I've absolutely loved it. Wasn't sure when wor lad bought it and stuck the first episode on but I was addicted straight away.

Coming to the end of Twin Peaks. Got the box set of Department S lined up next.

I like it, so I think it's a shame. Always runs late with the news so I get the 7am bulletin when I'm in the shower at about 5 past rather than having to wait for half 7, and it's suitably stupid/light-hearted for the commute to work. I know Moyles isn't popular and can be a bit annoying at times but generally I've always enjoyed the show. Not a fan of Grimmy so don't think I'll be listening when he's on.

Geoff from Byker Grove was wandering around the Chilli Festival on Saturday.
